"Found it!"

Ragnar saw where the golden radiance had landed. A rune resembling a clock face reappeared in his pupils. His gaze fell upon the starlight enveloped in the golden glow, trying to clearly see the path of destiny for this Faceless individual.

"Eastern Continent, Drake Republic, heir to the Loft Clan... Ghost Intelligence Officer... Wizard, Aberration, Disaster..."

"Just a Wizard?!"

Ragnar’s expression changed slightly. A Wizard discovering the flaws in those Magic Runes—that’s impossible!

He continued reading. "Gunfire rings out, the death knell... Does the death knell refer to him? No, that’s not right. He’s the one firing the gun, but the knell isn’t him. The knell is our Spiritual Mystery School... Then, what is that?!"

Huh?!

A blurry figure suddenly materialized before him, as if stepping out of the starlight. It revealed only a pair of crimson eyes filled with indifference, its body covered in distorted, illusory red shadows that looked like countless eyes hanging off it.

A fine sheen of sweat broke out on Ragnar’s forehead. "You, you are..."

"You’ve come?"

"I, I..."

"You shouldn’t have come," the illusory figure said, as if to itself. "How about you leave an eye behind?"

"Me, an eye?" Ragnar managed to choke out, a hint of panic in his eyes. This was the first time he had ever seen such a sight in the River of Destiny since his ascension to Demigod.

"Forget it. Seeing as you came here to help him, I won’t take your eye. But..."

The illusory figure’s face seemed to twist. The indifference in its crimson eyes remained, but its tone held a hint of playfulness as it said to him, "This is a deception, you know~"

’Deception?’

’What deception? I...’

A flicker of confusion crossed Ragnar’s eyes. He could no longer seem to see the illusory figure before him. ’He... who in the world... was he...’

"Destiny has already guided... All will perish!"

The twisted, illusory figure of light slowly retreated back into the starlight, vaguely revealing the busy silhouette of a person in a workshop.

Ragnar stared blankly into the River of Destiny, his mind having forgotten something. He only remembered that he had finished observing the destiny path of Faceless and now needed to cast the Destiny Barrier Spell.

Immediately after, he followed the thought in his mind and chanted a string of words in Gonzalez, "Felisi, ya, noa..."

As he chanted the incantation, a complex pattern quietly materialized between his eyebrows. Twisted lines formed a triangle, with a strange symbol at each vertex. Then, the triangular pattern spun and shot out a beam of light, which landed on the star in the River of Destiny that represented Wei’en.

"Whew. It’s been a while since I’ve used this spell. I’d forgotten it consumes a third of my Spiritual Power."

As his voice faded, Ragnar vanished from the void. On the golden compass, the pointer spun silently, as if smoothing out the faint ripples that had appeared in the River of Destiny.

"Ragnar, Ragnar?"

Rosa frowned and gave Chief Ragnar a nudge, watching as his expression shifted constantly before returning to calm.

"What is it?"

Ragnar snapped out of it and looked at her. "Is something wrong?"

"What just happened to you?" Rosa asked, eyeing him with suspicion. Her telepathy hadn’t detected anything unusual. "Did you see something in the River of Destiny?"

"I did see some things about the destiny path of that Faceless individual. He’s not a Great Mage, but a Legendary Mage of the Ghost Secret Technique System who just recently ascended."

Ragnar thought for a moment. "The strange thing is, I couldn’t retrieve his name. It’s highly likely his identity is very special..."

"A Legendary Mage? That makes more sense. If he were really a Great Mage, his talent for runes would be too terrifying." Seeing that he was back to normal, Rosa didn’t overthink it and continued, "Since the contract is made, let’s not waste any more time."

"Right. I also want to see if that flaw is correct..."

...

[You are protected by the Destiny Barrier Spell cast by Ragnar Yasmani Blackmore. Any guidance of destiny below the level of a Demigod will be unable to locate you via the River of Destiny. Evaluation: The standing of a taboo item surpasses that of a Demigod. However, with the help of this spell, the area of guidance for your location will be expanded, which is not bad. Special Reward: Survival Points +500, Origin +5, Spirit Level +10.]

Seeing the notification that suddenly appeared in his mind, Wei’en raised an eyebrow. ’The Chief of the Spiritual Mystery School personally cast the Destiny Barrier Spell for me... a Demigod...’

’Damn it, is the standing of that blasted taboo item really that high?’

’Even a Demigod-level spell can’t block its tracking?’

’Doesn’t that mean I’d need to be at the level of a god to block it completely?’

Just as the thought crossed his mind, another notification popped up on the panel.

[You are being guided by the taboo item 0-38, the Bell of Truth. The area of your location has been exposed. Due to the protection of the Demigod-level Destiny Barrier, the locating range has been expanded to a radius of three thousand kilometers. Evaluation: Or perhaps you could try mastering the system of destiny divination yourself? Special Reward: Survival Points +100, Origin +1.]

[You have been... Reward: Survival Points +50.]

’It’s happening again...’

Still, a three-thousand-kilometer radius... it really did significantly reduce the risk of him being discovered. That range was more than enough for him to prepare in advance.

Wei’en glanced up at the time. It had been exactly two hours since the last time he changed his Origin Power.

’In other words, the timer starts from when my Origin Power changes...’

"But, it’s finally resolved!"

The corners of Wei’en’s mouth quirked up, his crimson eyes filled with relief.

Although the process of his transaction with the Spiritual Mystery School had deviated somewhat from his expectations, the outcome had far exceeded them.
