"The repair method is a bit complex. Adjust the direction of the patterns one by one in reverse order of the three flaws. Adjust the extended pattern in the lower right counter-clockwise by thirty degrees, the pattern in the left corner clockwise by ninety degrees, and the pattern inside the star ring must be erased completely..."

"On the path to knowledge, death is not the end. —To a friend of the Spiritual Mystery School, from Faceless."

Before long, Wei’en finished the letter. Following the instructions in Olifuna’s reply, he attached a trace of Origin Power to a Sealing Array on the Space Ring. This would allow the Legendary Mage of the fate divination system to cast their Magic.

After placing the letter, the contract, and the Space Ring into an envelope, Wei’en summoned the little Messenger and stuffed the envelope into its mouth.

"You’ve had your fill. Time to get to work."

"HISS... HISS... HISS..." (I’m not full...)

The Nightmare Worm stared with its wide, round eyes, drumming its tentacles against the underside of its head to express its dissatisfaction.

"Heh heh... I trust you don’t want to be squashed flat by my hand!"

Wei’en bared his teeth at it, a cruel smile on his face.

SWOOSH!

The little Messenger retracted its head, bent a few tentacles, and catapulted its body away, vanishing from sight.

’Still want more to eat? Not in this lifetime!’

Watching the spot where it had vanished, Wei’en shook his head. ’The little Messenger is perfect in every way, except for one thing... it actually has to eat.’

’I wonder... if I turned it into an Undead Creature, would it keep its ability to enter the Nightmare Realm?’

...

...

「Spiritual Mystery School. Thirty-third floor of the high tower.」

Olifuna sat back in her chair, her eyes closed. Swirling Elemental Power surrounded her, radiating a multicolored light that cast a brilliant glow across the entire room.

However, unlike her usual Meditation, the light flickered erratically, pulsing without any rhythm.

After a long moment, she opened her eyes. ’I can’t quiet my mind for Meditation...’

Olifuna sighed. She knew it was because the letter she had sent to the Faceless Great Wizard had disturbed her thoughts, causing her Spiritual Power to be in a constant state of fluctuation.

Although she was confident in the contents of the contract of equals, the school’s predicament still left her feeling insecure. The impending crisis, in particular, weighed heavily on her.

’I wonder if His Excellency Faceless will sign the contract quickly when he sees the letter...’

SWOOSH!

"HISS... HISS... HISS—" (Food! Food!)

Just then, a Nightmare Worm tore through the void and appeared in the room. The instant it materialized, it waved its tentacles and shrieked at Olifuna, its mouth gaping to reveal two rows of sharp fangs.

"You’ve come?" Olifuna jolted. "You want to eat? No problem!"

She took out the Nightmare Contaminant she had prepared beforehand and placed it on the table. Watching the little Messenger pounce on it and start licking, she smiled. "Didn’t His Excellency Faceless prepare any food for you?"

After receiving the Messenger, she had learned from the Nightmare Sect how to raise a Nightmare Worm. Every letter sent consumed Nightmare Power, so the Messenger must always be kept well-fed.

Otherwise, if the Messenger got hungry during delivery, it might choose to linger in the Nightmare World to eat.

"HISS! HISS!" (Nope! Starving!)

"Oh, right. I forgot to tell His Excellency Faceless the feeding instructions."

Olifuna tapped her forehead as she watched the little Messenger gobble up the Nightmare Contaminant. ’I’ll add that to my reply later. Hmm... or better yet, I’ll just send some of the Contaminant to His Excellency Faceless.’

"HISS... HISS... HISS!" (You’re so nice!)

The little Messenger lifted its round head and nuzzled her cheek before going back to tearing at the Contaminant.

Olifuna gave a knowing smile and said patiently, "Take your time."

She had been anxious before the little Messenger’s arrival, but its appearance was a sign that everything had likely succeeded.

’If His Excellency Faceless disagreed with the contract, he wouldn’t have replied so quickly. After all, it takes time to consider the clauses of a contract.’

Before long, the little Messenger finished the Nightmare Contaminant and contentedly opened its mouth to spit out an envelope. "HISS. HISS." (Received. Good review.)

"Of course, of course..."

Olifuna found it rather odd, wondering where on earth the Nightmare Worm had learned a term like "good review." That didn’t stop her, however, from taking out more Nightmare Contaminant and stuffing it into its mouth.

"HISS... HISS... HISS..." (Don’t wanna leave...)

"That won’t do. I still need you to return to your master."

Olifuna took the letter and waved at the worm. "You wait here for a moment. I need to take this letter to the Chief Lord."

With that said, she turned and drew upon the tower’s Rune Power, instantly teleporting from the thirty-third floor to the doorway of the top-floor conference room.

"...no matter who they are, this time Spiritual Secret shall be victorious!"

Hearing Chief Ragnar’s voice from inside, Olifuna straightened her robes and knocked on the door.

KNOCK. KNOCK KNOCK...

"Come in."

Olifuna pushed the door open and went inside. She saw that the number of Legendary Mages in the conference room had doubled, reaching nearly half the total number the Spiritual Mystery School had publicly acknowledged.

’A few of these Legendary Mages were supposed to be in seclusion in some Forbidden Land. I can’t believe the school recalled them so quickly...’

"Chief Lord Ragnar, the reply from the Faceless Great Wizard has arrived."

"Good!"

A smile broke across Ragnar’s stern face, as if he could already picture Faceless signing his name to the contract.

He took the envelope from Olifuna and immediately opened it to scan the contract. When he saw Faceless’s signature was indeed there, his smile grew even wider.
