Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 315 - 316: Andre’s Duty
Chapter 315: Chapter 316: Andre’s Duty
"Has your Soul materialized?"
The Captain’s lip twitched as he looked at Andre, whose body had completely turned to Energy, and asked.
"About halfway there!"
Andre said, glancing at his own Soul.
At that moment, half of his Soul was like Crystal, dazzling and brilliant, while the other half was merely solidified, still a ways off from crystallizing.
"Is that so!"
The Captain and the Dean finally breathed a sigh of relief when they heard this.
If Andre’s Soul had already fully materialized by now, the two of them would have really wanted to find a rock and bash their own heads in.
In fact, most Wizards would have wanted to do the same. Compared to Andre, their Speed was just too slow.
"By the way, Dean, what are the different manifestations of a materialized Soul?"
Andre asked the Dean, looking at his own Soul.
"Materialization is just materialization. Like this."
The Dean looked at Andre, opened his mouth to speak, but ultimately decided to just manifest his own Soul and let Andre see for himself.
Then, a somewhat illusory phantom that looked exactly like the Dean appeared before Andre.
"This is a Soul phantom. While it’s not my Soul’s true body, it’s enough to show you what Soul materialization looks like."
The Dean explained, pointing at the phantom. Andre nodded and examined it closely.
But then he noticed something was off. Although the phantom was completely solid, it wasn’t like his own Soul, half of which was as dazzling as a Crystal.
Upon realizing this, Andre frowned and scrutinized the phantom.
Finally, he spotted the sign above the phantom, right at the top of its head.
"What’s this?"
Andre asked the Dean, pointing at the top of the phantom’s head.
"That is crystallization. It’s a characteristic only found in Wizards who bear the Power of Truth."
"A characteristic only a Truth Great Wizard can possess?"
Andre was a bit dumbfounded. Only the very top of the Dean’s Soul had completed this crystallization.
’Yet half of my own Soul is already crystallized. Could it be that my Soul is even stronger than the Dean’s?’
’Or have I already started bearing the Power of Truth ahead of schedule?’
’But there are three whole Realms between me and the Dean. How could I possibly bear the Power of Truth?’
"Of course, there are other ways for a Soul to crystallize ahead of time."
"For example, an infusion of the Power of World Origin, a blessing from the Wizard Civilization Will, or even some special Magic Plants and Divine Artifacts can cause a Soul to crystallize prematurely."
"But generally speaking, the crystallization of a Soul is a change that normally only occurs after one begins to bear the Power of Truth."
The Dean explained the difference between crystallization and materialization to Andre.
Andre looked at the Dean and nodded, an answer forming in his mind.
’It seems half of my Soul has crystallized because of an infusion of the Power of World Origin.’
’I did spend nearly a year inside the World Origin Space of the Cosmic Sea World.’
’Besides, my Realm was lower back then, so it’s only natural that the crystallization process would be faster.’
After coming up with this explanation for himself, Andre didn’t ask any more questions.
"Alright, now, shouldn’t you be getting to your duties?"
Seeing Andre’s thoughtful expression, the Dean was suddenly reminded of the time the Wizard Civilization Will had bestowed its blessing upon both Andre and himself.
It was only after receiving that blessing from the Wizard Civilization Will that his own Soul finally began to change, causing the area at the top of his head to start crystallizing.
’Could it be that Andre’s Soul crystallized early because of the blessing from the Wizard Civilization Will?’
’How is that possible?’
As soon as the thought emerged in the Dean’s mind, he immediately dismissed it as impossible.
He reasoned that he only thought of it because so many shocking things had happened with Andre that he was simply overthinking it.
’It’s true that when Andre broke through to Level 3 Wizard, some change occurred in his body that caused the Wizard Civilization Will to bestow a blessing upon him.’
’But at that time, his Soul should have just been starting its transition from illusory to material.’
’Even with the blessing of the Wizard Civilization Will, his Soul couldn’t possibly have crystallized. At most, it would have become fully material, still a far cry from crystallization.’
’That must be it.’
After thinking it over, the Dean reassured himself.
"My duties? What duties do I have?"
Andre blinked at the Dean, not understanding what else there was for him to do in the Cosmic Sea World.
"You are now the vice dean of the Cosmic Sea World Branch. Since the dean isn’t present, everything here naturally falls under your command."
"From selecting the site for the institute to overseeing its subsequent construction, you need to take the lead."
The Dean looked at Andre and laid out the responsibilities he was to fulfill in the Cosmic Sea World.
Andre was dumbstruck when he heard the Dean’s words.
"Dean, isn’t this position just a title? Why are you suddenly dumping so many tasks on me?"
Andre was reluctant. He was completely inept at things like building an institute, and he had no prior knowledge in this area.
Suddenly asking him to oversee the construction of an institute was asking a bit too much of him.
"Well, who else is there? We don’t have a proper dean right now, so you, the vice dean, have to step up."
The Dean looked at Andre, clapped his hands together, then spread them in a helpless gesture as he spoke.
"Isn’t the Captain still here? He’s a Moonlight Great Mage. Can’t he serve as the dean here?"
Andre said, pointing to the Captain standing beside the Dean.
"Me?" The Captain blinked, surprised that Andre would suggest he become the dean of the Cosmic Sea World Branch.
"Why don’t you ask him if he’s willing?"
A smile touched the Dean’s lips as he looked at the Captain Andre had nominated.
"Captain, are you willing?" Andre immediately asked.
"Of course I’m not!"
The Captain’s response left Andre dumbstruck again.
"He’s the captain of a War Mother Ship. He usually leads a Star Realm Battleship, roaming restlessly through the Star Realm, capturing resources and documenting worlds."
"In his own words, that kind of life is far more comfortable than doing research in an institute," the Dean said to Andre with a smile.
"But aren’t there a few Morning Star Wizards in the Cosmic Sea World right now? It would be fine to have them oversee the construction."
Andre instantly thought of Munger and the others.
