Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 295 - 296: Fatal Support?
"Alright. When that day comes, you can tell me then!"
Andre waved dismissively at the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant and turned to face the screen.
Just then, Wei Xing detected new signals three hundred kilometers away: two Star Realm Battleships and a Racial Alliance Army.
With a wave of Andre's hand, the Morning Sky flew in that direction.
"Damn it, how are there more of them the more we fight?"
Inside a spherical Star Realm Battleship, a figure gritted her teeth as she watched the Racial Alliance Army chasing her and her partner.
The two of them had been patrolling the area, searching for any sign of the Racial Alliance Army.
It wasn't long into their patrol before they detected a large high-energy reaction about three hundred kilometers to their north.
After a brief discussion, they concluded that a large number of Magic Plants were growing in that location.
So, the two of them piloted their Star Realm Battleships over, hoping to harvest these Magic Plants.
But before they could even reach the location, a Racial Alliance Army suddenly appeared from nearby and immediately gave chase, attacking them relentlessly.
They wanted to fight back, but the distance was just too short; there wasn't even enough time for their War Witchcraft Artifacts to charge.
Worse still, leaders from the Racial Alliance Army flew right up beside the Star Realm Battleships with weapons in hand and began hammering away at their hulls.
Every strike left another mark on the Star Realm Battleships.
A few marks weren't a problem, but too many would begin to affect the Demon Patterns carved into the ship's exterior, which would in turn compromise the Witchcraft Array.
And ultimately, the entire Interstellar Battleship.
As a result, the two of them could only retreat, taking turns covering for each other.
But the Racial Alliance Army behind them seemed to have latched on, pursuing them relentlessly.
This infuriated them, but they were helpless against the pursuing Racial Alliance Army.
Not enough time, not enough distance. Their Star Realm Battleships were completely unable to unleash their true power. At this point, they were nothing more than tools for escape.
"Damn it! Just let me get some distance! I'll show you the meaning of Morning Star Witchcraft!"
The figure gritted her teeth, pushing the Star Realm Battleship to go faster and faster.
But as soon as the Star Realm Battleship accelerated, someone from the Racial Alliance Army immediately rushed forward and began hammering away at it indiscriminately.
Under the impact of the Power, the Interstellar Battleship's hull shuddered, and its recently accelerated frame slowed once more.
"Heh heh, Lord Sakro was right!"
"Don't let any distance open up between us and these strange artifacts. Once there's a gap, they can unleash their full power and cause us maximum casualties."
A member of the Wind Feather Race brandished a hammer, his eyes gleaming with a predatory light as he stared at the Interstellar Battleship ahead.
"Yeah, but have you heard? Apparently, the great Wulumu was defeated by these outsiders."
At that, another member of the Wind Feather Race spoke up, his face etched with disbelief.
"Under the suppression of the world's consciousness, these guys can only rely on these bizarre artifacts to use their Power; they can't use any of their own strength at all."
"So how could Lord Wulumu possibly be defeated by them under those circumstances?"
Just then, a member of the Celestial Ice Race addressed the two from the Wind Feather Race.
True to the name of his race, this Celestial Ice Race member was covered from head to toe in blocks of ice.
However, unlike an Ice Elemental Life form, these blocks of ice were connected by pure white filaments, making them resemble a suit of armor.
This armor was the very symbol of the Celestial Ice Race.
"Hmph. Enough talk. First, let's crack open these two turtle shells. Then we'll drag out the people inside and force them to reveal the outsiders' objectives and movements."
Just then, a member of the Fire Spirit Race—who was entirely the color of fire but bore no actual flames—spoke to the two from the Wind Feather Race.
Upon hearing the Fire Spirit Race member speak, the two from the Wind Feather Race immediately fell silent.
The Celestial Ice Race and the Fire Spirit Race were mortal enemies. Members of the two races usually started a fight the moment they met.
If it weren't for the arrival of the outsiders, there's no telling how much longer the two races would have kept fighting.
"Lina, how much energy does your Interstellar Battleship have left?"
The person inside the spherical Star Realm Battleship asked her companion.
"About half. But these guys are so damn annoying! We can't create any distance at all."
The figure, whose name was Lina, stared at the projection in the Central Control Room, her face filled with rage.
But now, because the Racial Alliance Army was too close on their tail, the Star Realm Battleship simply couldn't pull away.
It was this inability to pull away that was making her feel so utterly stifled.
She was born a princess of her family; she had never been this humiliated in her life.
And now, this Racial Alliance Army was teaching her a harsh lesson.
"Hey, Sally, there's a Star Realm Battleship heading this way. You don't think it's reinforcements, do you?"
Lina was staring furiously at the Racial Alliance Army on the projection.
At this point, if it weren't for the Wizard Array carved on the battleship's surface that kept flinging off the creatures clinging to the hull, her Star Realm Battleship would have been dragged down by the Racial Alliance Army long ago.
But just then, her Witch Brain Core suddenly reported to Lina that a Star Realm Battleship was heading straight for them.
"Probably another one running for its life. I really hope it doesn't come our way."
"Things are difficult enough for us as it is. If we have to deal with the Racial Alliance Army chasing that ship, too, all three of us are going to die here."
Sally had also seen the signal on the projection.
The moment she saw the signal, Sally felt like her head was about to explode.
'When it rains, it pours. When you're this unlucky, even drinking water can get stuck in your teeth.'
Their situation was already difficult enough, but now this newcomer was about to make a terrible situation even worse.
Sally stared at the approaching Interstellar Battleship on the projection, grinding her teeth in frustration.
'If that ship is really just fleeing for its life,' she thought, 'then I'll have to apologize for what comes next.'
But just then, the signal on the projection suddenly stopped moving.
Then, the signal changed course and flew off to the side.
"Hey, it changed direction!"
Lina watched the signal on the projection, a flash of disappointment on her face.
If that ship had come over, the situation she and Sally were facing might have changed.
If only that ship had used War Witchcraft to attack the Racial Alliance Army behind them, the two of them could have seized the opportunity to counterattack.
