Chapter 253: Chapter 255: I, the Child of the World (3)

"Three Morning Stars, over a hundred Level 3s... ’Did they all achieve their power through this unique path?’"

Andre blinked. Red-haired Klein had told him before that the races in the Cosmic Sea World gain Power by fusing Magical Beast Bloodlines into their bodies.

The more Magical Beast Bloodlines they fused, the higher their Realm.

"Yes, that’s right. They all gain Power through this unique path. In the Wizard Civilization, we call this the fusion path."

"Because they gain Power by fusing with Magical Beast Bloodlines, the races of the Cosmic Sea World find it very easy to increase their Power—until they try to break through to the Morning Star Realm, that is. That’s when they face difficulties."

Angela nodded and began to give Andre a detailed explanation of the situation within the Cosmic Sea World.

"If the academy has records on this, dealing with them shouldn’t be a problem. So how is it that you haven’t even managed to fully acquire this world’s writing system yet?"

Andre voiced his question. In his view, Wizards had countless ways to obtain a writing system.

All they needed to do was capture a few natives of the Cosmic Sea World, extract their Souls, and obtain their memories. That would be enough to learn the world’s writing system.

"The problem lies with that unique path within the Cosmic Sea World."

"The path in the Cosmic Sea World isn’t the same as other fusion paths."

"This path within the Cosmic Sea World involves more than just fusing with a Magical Beast’s Bloodline."

"As their Power increases, the Magical Beast Bloodlines they’ve fused with also give rise to new Souls, which then coexist with the races of the Cosmic Sea World."

"In this situation, it might look like we’re fighting a single enemy, but in reality, we also have to deal with the Souls that emerge from these Magical Beast Bloodlines."

"These Souls also help their hosts in battle."

"In other words, when we fight these races, it looks like we’re facing one opponent, but we’re actually fighting multiple enemies at once."

"Fighting one against two, one against three, or even one against four is common."

"Furthermore, these Magical Beast Souls, born from the Bloodlines, guard the deepest parts of their host’s Soul."

"Trying to capture their Souls to obtain this world’s writing system is a fool’s errand."

Upon hearing Andre’s question, a wry smile appeared on Angela’s face as she looked at him and shook her head.

"So that’s how it is." Andre nodded.

’Fighting one against two or one against three... if it were just a contest of Magic Power, victory might still be possible.’

’But on the level of the Soul, when there’s no significant difference in fundamental quality, numbers hold the absolute advantage.’

’So, I really can’t blame Angela and her people for their lack of progress.’

"This truly is a unique path. I’ve never seen anything like it in the academy’s databanks before."

Andre recalled what he had seen in the databanks.

"This path is extremely valuable. Haven’t you contacted the academy and asked them to send more people to study it?"

"We have. The academy sent people over. They’re at the other bases right now."

Angela waved her hand, and a map appeared before Andre.

"This is the Expedition Base established by our First Expedition Squad. This one was built by the Second Expeditionary Corps. They built three bases in total, distributed around this battlefield."

"If any one Expedition Base comes under attack, everyone will use the teleportation formations to travel to the other three Expedition Bases and escape the Cosmic Sea World from there."

Andre looked at the map before him and nodded.

’This approach was undoubtedly the most suitable for the current Expedition Squad. Without powerful reinforcements, hiding themselves was the natural course of action.’

’Using the battlefield for cover was the most fitting, convenient, and cost-effective method.’

"Which race is the most hostile toward us right now?"

Andre asked, now that he had a grasp of the power distribution within the Cosmic Sea World.

’Once the Wizards conquered this world, such a race would inevitably be annihilated.’

’And in the process of that annihilation, there would be incredibly rich spoils to be had.’

’Faced with such rich spoils, even Andre, for all his fortunate encounters, couldn’t help but be tempted.’

"Well, there are currently two races. One is the Ape Demon Race, and the other is the Wind Feather Race."

Angela waved her hand, and projections of the two races appeared before Andre.

"The Ape Demon Race and the Wind Feather Race... do we have some kind of feud with them?"

Andre looked at the two projections, his face full of confusion.

The Ape Demon Race resembled humans, but they were taller than ordinary people, with more developed muscles and much thicker body hair.

Overall, they looked somewhat like apes, but with human-like features.

According to the academy’s classification, a race like this—the Ape Demon Race—was considered humanoid and could become part of the Wizard Civilization.

As for the Wind Feather Race, it would be more accurate to call them the Birdman Race.

Their appearance was similar to humans, but the difference was that they had a pair of wings on their backs.

"After we arrived in this world, the first thing we did was find a safe place to establish an Expedition Base."

"Only then did we start gathering intelligence to see which races ruled this world."

"During this process, we had no conflicts with these two races. On the contrary, the moment they saw us, they attacked—and relentlessly at that."

Angela looked at Andre and shook her head.

"Are they like that with all races, or just with those that look like us?"

Andre continued to press, as the question was very important.

"All humanoid races. The closer they are to resembling us, the more hostility they face from them."

"In that case, it must be related to that great war from before."

Andre immediately hit upon the key point, and Angela nodded.

"That’s what we thought, too. We’ve already reported this information to the academy and are awaiting their decision."

"Then let’s wait. Where is the writing you’ve collected so far?"

Andre remembered his mission for coming to the Cosmic Sea World.

"Come with me. All the texts have been stored in one place."

Angela led Andre to a stone chamber. Upon entering, Andre looked at the mediums on which the texts were written and scratched his head.

These mediums were varied—some were wood, some were metal, but most were stone or clay tablets.

"We excavated all of these from the battlefield. A few of them we acquired by disguising ourselves and buying them."

Angela looked at the tablets, a headache clearly forming.
