With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1596: The other side wasn’t better

"So it doesn’t feel like there’s been a change?"

As they asked this, both Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu looked at the token that Lin Fan was holding out for them. Even though they were looking right at it, it wasn’t as if they could figure out what had changed with the token.

To them, this token looked the same as before.

But that shouldn’t be the case since it would have inherited the authority of this place after Lin Fan connected it to the different pillars. It should have changed in some way or another because of this.

However, it didn’t seem like Lin Fan felt that there was much of a chance either.

Though it wasn’t as if he was confused on why this was the case.

In fact, Lin Fan was actually quite clear on what the problem was.

"It’s because I didn’t completely seal it off."

He had faltered at the final step and didn’t completely seal off the Transcendence Realm items. Since he didn’t seal off all the items that should have been sealed, it was only natural that he would not receive the full authority of this place.

Only it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was disappointed in this.

This was something that he had already guessed before coming to this decision and he still chose to do this because he knew that there would be more to gain from this. Even if he were to seal off those Transcendence Realm items later, it wasn’t as if it would be too late.

For now, it was better to build that relationship with them to see if he could get anymore out of these sealed items.

After they finished examining the token in his hand, they followed him to the next pavilion. But this one wasn’t just any pavilion, this was the pavilion that was in the same direction as the place where the sealed items were.

There was no telling if the area where the sealed items were was the one that Su Ling had pointed out since it didn’t feel like it. The way that he had to gather all the authority of all of the different pillars was something that had been quite troublesome.

It would have been strange if this was something that everyone had to do.

Not to mention that it wasn’t as if it was something that anyone could have done.

Only those that had a certain level of cultivation or resistance to the pressure from the items would be able to do such a thing. So in the first place, this would have been considered a high level test no matter how one looked at it.

So Lin Fan was looking forward to seeing what the next pavilion would have.

"It seems like this is just as bad as the last one..."

When he saw the pavilion that was in front of him, Lin Fan really didn’t know what to make of it. After all, this wasn’t the kind of pavilion that seemed like it was part of a cultivation sect.

In fact, it didn’t even seem like it was the kind of place that belonged in a cultivation world.

But while Ye Qing Huan was confused by what she saw, Lin Fan knew exactly what he was looking at.

He wasn’t the only one that knew what he was looking at, Xiao Mu also knew what it was looking at. It could even be said that Xiao Mu was more familiar than Lin Fan with this place. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

After all, this was the place that the main parts for Xiao Mu came from.

Ye Qing Huan seemed cautious, but there was a strange look that appeared on her face when she saw the looks that they had. Since they knew what this place was, she didn’t say anything and just moved to the back as if she was going to observe.

It was just that it wasn’t that easy for them to enter this pavilion either.

"Though from the shape of it, it would be more accurate to describe it as some kind of research lab." Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking to himself as he stared at this building in front of them.

The main reason that it was hard for them to enter was because there was something at the door that was hard for them to solve.

This was a lock that was easy for those to enter as long as they knew what to enter into it. But those that didn’t know what to enter would be stuck here for quite some time if they were trying to brute force it.

Even if they were to hack it, it wasn’t as if it would be easy to figure out the code.

"There are over a million combinations if it’s a six digit code..." This was something that Lin Fan remembered seeing in a commercial in his past life. He wasn’t certain if the math was right, but it didn’t seem like they would lie about something as simple as this.

So if they wanted to enter this place, they would have to figure out what the code was.

But this kind of thing wouldn’t be left here so that anyone would be able to open this pavilion. This kind of thing would no doubt be hidden in a special place that no one other than those who could enter this pavilion would know.

Considering that this was the only lab in the cultivation world, it was unlikely that there were many that knew the combination to this door.

Staring at the panel at the door, Lin Fan couldn’t help saying with a sigh, "What do we do now?"

Xiao Mu was the one that moved first as it came over to stand in front of the panel on the door. The way that Xiao Mu looked at it was almost as if it was analyzing that panel, but then it suddenly reached its hand out.

As it reached its hand out, there was a finger that was pointed forward as well.

It wasn’t as if Xiao Mu pointed this finger out for no reason.

As the finger came closer and closer to the panel, it suddenly started to open up.

A strange look appeared on Lin Fan’s face since he was more familiar with this scene than Ye Qing Huan. This was the kind of thing that he had seen countless times in movies in his past life, which was why there was a part of him that even felt uncomfortable seeing this.

But Xiao Mu wasn’t using the wires that came out of its fingers to hurt anyone, it was using it to connect to the code panel on the door.

The wires reached around the panel itself before seemingly inserting into the panel.

After the wires that came out of Xiao Mu’s finger, it didn’t seem like there was a response that came from the door itself. However, Xiao Mu had its eyes closed as if it was focusing on something.

Lin Fan couldn’t help looking at the screen on the panel to see what it was that Xiao Mu was doing, but it didn’t seem like there were any indicators. At the very least, it didn’t seem like Xiao Mu was trying to brute force the password out by trying the different combinations.

"Though if it did do that, there’s really no telling what would have happened."

Even if the cultivators weren’t used to technology, it wasn’t as if they wouldn’t think of how to protect what was theirs. Naturally they would have set a limit to the number of times that a password could be attempted on the panel.

Or at least that was what Lin Fan thought until he saw numbers appear on the screen.

They moved so fast that he wasn’t actually able to see what it was that was being inputted, but it wasn’t hard for him to guess judging by how the numbers moved.

"I thought it wouldn’t brute force it and now it’s actually brute forcing it..." Lin Fan couldn’t help giving a secret bitter laugh when he saw this, but he still didn’t say anything since it didn’t seem like there was anything happening with the panel.

If Xiao Mu could brute force it without any consequences, it wasn’t as if there was a reason why he couldn’t let Xiao Mu do this.

After a while, there was finally a sound that came from the panel before the door also opened. It seemed like Xiao Mu had been able to force out the password in the end by trying all the different combinations.

"How did you do that? There should have been a limit to how many attempts were given."

"That was the first thing that I disabled." Xiao Mu said as if this was a natural thing.

That caused a wry smile to appear on Lin Fan’s face.

When he thought about it, he should have realized that this was the first thing that Xiao Mu would have done if it was brute forcing it. It was the reason why Xiao Mu had been silent in the beginning since it was removing that attempt limit.

Since the door was open, there was no reason for them not to continue forward.

But neither Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan went forward first.

Even if Lin Fan understood the technology in front of him, it wasn’t as if he would be able to do anything to it.

It was only something like Xiao Mu that had mechanical parts and was controlled by AI that could do anything here.
