Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1802 - 1059: Crimson Corruption Wins the MVP!
The infected bird collided with the Monster.
The vomit from the Monster, whose entire body began to fester, contaminated all the penned livestock.
The livestock, plunged into panic and frenzy, ran amok, flying to the sky, burrowing underground, diving into rivers, and charging recklessly on the ground.
People in the camp were baffled, not understanding how these livestock were escaping, and what madness they were in now.
Reasonably speaking, they should have been stopping them all by now, yet surprisingly, no one took action.
The Monsters dispatched ahead to guard the Teleportation Gate weren’t fools. Their battlefield survival instincts were wildly alerting them—warning them not to attempt stopping any escaping livestock.
Dozens of Monsters present, enough to wipe out a small town, stood dumbfounded, not daring to make a move.
Until the livestock successfully embraced freedom.
Bean-sized cold sweat trickled down the foreheads of the Monster soldiers, running over faces either rough, scaly, or uneven. They looked at each other, deeply perplexed, saying:
"Why didn’t you move just now?"
"Why don’t you say why you didn’t move?"
Everyone was a proud and serious individual; who would admit to fearing a bunch of defenseless poultry at such a time? Thus, they retorted:
"I don’t eat these creatures, why stop them?"
"Well, I don’t eat them either, I—"
"Stop being stubborn here, something big’s going to happen!"
A Monster ran hurriedly over, shouting loudly:
"Lord Onora is coming personally, hurry and clean up to welcome her!"
While the Monsters scrambled to tidy up their camp, which could truly be called standard chaos and mess, to face Onora’s arrival, the birds and beasts previously escaped from the camp had already spread everywhere.
The poultry flying in the sky, like pigeons, were swallowed whole by soaring eagles. The eagle flew not far before encountering a Flying Monster’s hunt; the Flying Monster, speeding toward the distance, was hunted by a subspecies Flying Dragon, returning to the nest to share with its offspring.
After a hearty feast, Flying Dragons, large and small, turned bloodshot.
The edible small crocodile swimming in the river explosively self-destructed beside a fish egg ready to hatch, instantly attracting the interest of the newly hatched small piranhas in droves, numbering in the thousands, devouring the flesh and river stained with blood entirely.
They then actively swam towards the Monsters that preyed upon them.
The livestock burrowing underground like moles didn’t go far before succumbing to the power of corruption and died on the spot, but its corpse quickly attracted the attention of creatures known for their numbers, ants devoured its body, but the ant nest was subsequently raided by anteaters, and after anteaters left, neighboring bugs came to take advantage.
Then, on the ground appeared the sight of ants moving side by side with their enemies.
The Demon Continent is a highly competitive place to survive; any slight disadvantage shown by a creature warrants ruthless hunting. These abnormal-behaved creatures wouldn’t last a few minutes alive in the Demon Continent before being targeted by Hunters.
Though it’s unsuitable for infected creatures to survive.
But it sure is fit for spreading Crimson Corruption, is it not?
Sky, earth, ocean.
Spread, spread, spread.
Crimson Corruption wasted not a hint of power on infecting immobile objects like land, using everything to infect mobile individuals, even a tumbleweed.
Very soon, very soon, from the sky overlooking the Demon Continent, sparse small red dots can be seen.
The red dots grew more numerous, larger; some dense, some scattered; some deep in color, some shallow. No matter the change, their number steadily grew rapidly.
It was like this land was infected with innumerable plagues, now spawning desperate and incurable acne upon its skin.
Those red dots are the ever-growing Crimson Corruption.
The bright Sun set, the pure Moon rose, after countless sunrises and sunsets.
These scattered red dots across the continent convened into large, moving crimson masses.
Wherever they went, bodies overcome by Crimson Corruption left behind, yet their force grew ever larger and larger, forming a completely irresistible tide by external forces!
From above, the tide formed by Crimson Corruption encroached upon the area occupied by counterfeited corruption, with the encircling stance already formed.
Does it look like the situation is completely out of control?
Judging the ever-growing Crimson Corruption surely seems like it.
However, wherever this crimson tide went, no red residue was left anywhere on the continent.
The discarded infected corpses, dead were dead; after decay, nothing remained, including all traces of Crimson Corruption, leaving no dormant threat to the local environment.
Sain Dungeon continuously controlled the development of the situation.
After an unknown amount of time.
"Ah... huh..."
At the border where Mad Fire God Sect and Corrupted forces met, a yawning Mad Fire Cultist patrolling along the Fire Wall couldn’t help but speak sleepily in a daze:
"When will this patrolling ever end, I see no signs of Crimson Corruption spreading over there at all."
