"Whoa—"

Upon seeing the sudden appearance of the massive creature before her, Maru, who intended to display a mature and reliable big sister image in front of the newcomers, couldn’t help but let out a sharp explosive scream.

She was like a startled ginger cat, but unfortunately, there was no car under which she could hide on this vast lake surface.

"Sea monster!"

Due to the psychological trauma left from childhood, Maru was particularly inept at dealing with slimy, sticky giants that lived in water.

The Hydra before her almost embodied all the elements she loathed; just one glance made her brain buzz as if it were slapped by a big fish when she was a child, nearly losing her breath in the surging waves.

Even someone without psychological trauma related to sea monsters would be startled by the current scene. Mainly, it felt like a classic monster disaster movie; Gong Qiying covertly added a Fear Aura magic for an optimal thrill effect.

Because of Hydra’s appearance, the continuously surging lake water suddenly calmed down at an inexplicable speed. The black water seemed like an abyss gazing at everyone, who knew if any other monster would pop out from it, leaving no room for reassurance.

However, these are secondary concerns; the real focus should be on the Hydra displaying offensive intentions towards them.

"What a big guy."

Tami stood on the lake surface, wiped the water droplets off his face, pulled out his shield and straight sword from behind, and with a "bang!" hit the shield with the sword blade. The sudden loud noise instantly attracted the Hydra’s attention, while an aura expanded from him, ultimately enveloping everyone.

Anyone touched by this aura quickly became invigorated, shaking off the initial fright and rapidly restructured their stance, drawing weapons - the effect of the famous group battle magic, the Invigoration Aura.

"Looks even bigger than White Dragon Heiss!"

"Boom—"

Two of Hydra’s heads instantly slammed into Tami. The serpentine long necks supporting its seven heads surfaced on the water, like stretched to compressed springs providing powerful impact during the advance.

Before being hit, the Iron Wall Shield Defense had already appeared on Tami’s shield, suddenly enlarging the medium-sized shield to block both heads.

In the blink of an eye, Hydra’s brute force hit him, sending him flying backwards, turning into a beautiful meteor in the sky.

The lake surface offered no foothold for power exertion from legs; this posed some troubles for close combat, especially since he served as MT, meaning shield counter wasn’t an option.

Nonetheless, flying back didn’t signify an absence of counterattacks.

"Awoo!"

One of Hydra’s heads let out a howl, rebounded electrically back; a slashing mark appeared near its eye, almost cutting the eyeball.

"The scale hardness isn’t outrageous, you can inflict damage, go ahead boldly!" Tami’s voice echoed throughout the battlefield, providing information on Hydra’s average defense strength.

"Okay!" The group of "newbies," including Chaos, promptly replied, showing great trust in him, launching attacks on Hydra.

Each of Hydra’s seven heads had its own consciousness, though they sensed other heads to some extent; it didn’t significantly affect. When the head struck by Tami shrank back, the remaining six still attacked everyone from various directions.

Counting Maru, there were exactly seven people present facing seven heads, one each, neither more nor less.

The dark-skinned young man, Chaos, first rushed forward; it was evident that he held only a magic wand in hand, yet his charge was confident.

For he was a Close Combat Mage.

The Magic Hammer instantly formed on the wand, and he jumped, ascending above Hydra’s head, hammering towards its nose. The azure hammer exploded brilliantly upon impact.

Hydra’s recoil was quite satisfying; upon impact, the head and rear neck rippled like animation effects, chin smashed down then rebounded high, forward momentum abruptly stopped.

Chaos showcased exceptional bodily technique, utilizing the force during the large head’s rebound, spun multiple times in the air before landing back, seemingly to leave the battlefield unscathed perfectly.

But nearby heads noticed the situation, opening jaws left and right towards him, leaving no time to react.

"Boom boom boom!"

Immediately, magicians fiercely shot Crystal Magic at the two heads on either side, numerous Broom Stars crashed down.

Compared to the enormous Hydra, Broom Stars seemed somewhat small, yet their combined impact successfully diminished the enemy’s speed.
