Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1724 - 1020: Sain Card_2
Maru was initially not interested in this set at all. However, when she noticed everyone around her mysteriously getting hooked on card collecting, she decided to give it a try, and then she couldn’t stop.
Even though she didn’t buy that many Sain cards, now when she counted them, she found she could fill three Treasure Box Monsters, which made her question her self-control.
"But, as long as I can pull a shiny card, it will cover all my previous expenses, uum..."
Maru clenched her fist, feeling she couldn’t give up just yet.
Otherwise, the sunk costs would be wasted!
By the way, the producer of this set of Sain cards is finally no longer the Bed family, but rather Leon’s Golden Lion Commerce, which reportedly has given quite a shock to the Bed family in the market.
According to Tepi, the inspiration for the Sain cards came from a young grocery store owner he met while wandering in Bed City, but later when he tried to find that person again, he couldn’t, making Tepi sigh repeatedly as he wanted to share his profits and even placed ads to search for this young man.
The toy store manager also noticed that Maru’s gambling side was about to act up, so out of kindness, he said, "Want to change your mood and try a blind box? Maybe your luck will turn around. I recommend this newly released colorful Curse Frog blind box."
"You’re just pushing her into another pit, manager."
A boy’s voice interrupted the two’s conversation from the side.
Holding a bunch of magic potions, Tami came over from the roadside, followed by a few unfamiliar faces, but judging by the special Skyrim Strategy Group badges pinned on their chests, they were likely from the same group as Tami and Luluwo.
"Tami?" Maru was surprised to see a familiar face here. "You’re not in the dungeon...oh right, this is the dungeon. I mean, aren’t you adventuring?"
"Just about to, and then I saw you, so I came over to say hi."
Tami rummaged through his bag, fished out a drink, poured some ice potion on it, and tossed it to Maru.
"How extravagant, chilling a drink. So the rumors of you guys making big money recently are true."
Maru looked at the drink in her hand, which was ten copper coins per bottle, while that ice potion seemed to require silver coins to pay.
"I only used a little, and this is a method taught by Captain Luluwo, it’s better than ice magic."
Tami shrugged, gave a thumbs up pointing at the unfamiliar Strategy Group members behind him, and said, "But you’re right, recently we’ve made a lot of money by training live-stream photographers, and we’ve signed employee agreements with dozens of organizations; they’re all hiring our people as photographers."
The Skyrim Strategy Group has a mature and feasible method for training photographers. Their photographers are precise and steady during live-streams, and they endure even in harsh environments, naturally attracting the needs of many organizations and recently opening relevant training courses.
They’re doing this mainly because the fame of Sain Dungeon is growing, more people come for strategy, and the market is nearing saturation, so even the famous Skyrim Strategy Group needs to consider expanding business.
"Are you leading this adventure? Time really flies."
Seeing Tami acting as the big brother in front of this group of newcomers made Maru lament the power of time; when Tami first came, he was still an innocent rookie, and now he could lead newcomers independently.
"They’re not all rookies. They all qualify to enter our internal list, waiting in line to receive the King’s Soul."
It’s said that the Skyrim Strategy Group devised several effective strategies for the simplest Four Kings of Little Londo and the Chaos Breeding Ground among King’s Soul holders, equipping their members with King’s Souls at an impressive speed.
Tami shook his hand revealing the Royal Artifact emblem, with two orbs of King’s Soul.
"Not bad, just one less than I have. Didn’t your captain take you to complete the collection?" Maru showed off her three King’s Souls.
"Don’t mention the captain," Tami shook his head helplessly, "It was originally planned for everyone to have three King’s Souls, but not long ago, she got stimulated by something, shouted ’Solar, for you, I look like an Undead Man,’ and went to extinguish the fire. Now she leaves us to have fun alone in the dungeon, sometimes not showing up for ten days or half a month."
Fortunately, the operations of the Skyrim Strategy Group were already well-organized, so it wasn’t a big problem even if Luluwo was missing; she was genuinely enjoying being hands-off.
"I feel you, my captain’s the same."
For a moment, Maru showed Tami a look of empathy.
"Oh, by the way, are you free today? Want to join our adventure?"
"Me?" Maru pointed at herself, "I’ll pass, I’m currently on a br—"
Before she could finish speaking, Tami said, "Our group found a golden Crystal Giant Puppet in the Gap Forest next to the Black Forest Courtyard, and it seems to have someone trapped in there. We’re going to investigate."
This information was considered exclusive, but it could be shared with Leon’s Strategy Group, which was a friendly ally designated by Luluwo.
"Uh."
Maru was thinking of an excuse to refuse, mainly because today was a rest day, and she really didn’t feel like adventuring even if she was bored.
But Tami’s next sentence made her reconsider.
"The body of the Crystal Giant Puppet doesn’t disappear after it dies but shatters. We plan to bring that golden one back to make jewelry. If you help, we can give you an arm."
"I’m in!"
A moment later, the Gap Forest welcomed several bloodthirsty uninvited guests.
"Where’s the Crystal Giant Puppet?" Tami asked.
The magician in the group, the first to find out about this, pointed towards the depths of the forest and said, "Just like I mentioned before, the trees on the path there will be slightly different, with sporadic golden crystals on the trunks. If you look closely, you should see them. Just follow them."
"Alright, Chaos, it’s up to you."
Tami called upon a dark-skinned youth in the group, who appeared to be an assassin or a vocation emphasizing speed and agility.
As they fought their way, the people following Tami displayed at least Silver Level adventurer skills, making Maru ponder if she should also expand her recruitment.
Chaos closed his eyes, releasing Fighting Qi and magic for sensing, leading the way into the forest. Now and then, they spotted golden crystals on the tree trunks.
As they walked along, the sound of water suddenly reached their ears.
It sounded like a waterfall? They also smelled the scent of lake water.
"I’ve never been here before, didn’t expect there to be a waterfall."
Soon, the group followed the sound out of the forest, greeted by a relatively vast lake. Across from them was indeed a waterfall that protruded out of nowhere, its sound resonating.
"Over there." Chaos pointed towards the waterfall, and everyone looked as well, seeing a golden Crystal Giant Puppet standing still amid the water flow.
"Great, let’s go take it down together."
Tami clapped and led everyone forward, calling out to charge. They all used levitation magic to "walk" on the lake’s surface.
"Hiss, wait for me..."
Maru glanced at the dark lake surface, unsure of its depth and feeling anxious just by looking at it.
She feared the water, especially deep water, because when fishing on a lake as a child, she was concussed by a big fish that jumped out of it.
"Well, there shouldn’t be anything here, right?"
Maru steeled her nerves and stepped forward, casting ripples on the lake surface with her foot.
A giant eye, larger than her entire body, appeared there.
Staring straight at her.
Then.
Fourteen eyes lit up beneath the dark lake surface.
"Whoa!"
The once-dead calm lake waters surged violently, a large and twisted figure erupting with the wave, swallowing the golden Crystal Giant Puppet whole.
"What’s that!"
"Sea monster!?"
People scrambled out of the waves and looked up, eyes widening in shock.
The giant aquatic monster known as Hydra was looming with its seven heads, opening its gaping jaws towards them.
