Chapter 162: Chapter 148: Server-Wide Announcement: First Trade with Native People
"Great! Thank you, human. You’re so nice!" the Void Beast thanked Rowan Rhodes again. The sheer joy in its voice made it obvious just how thrilled it was!
"So innocent!" Rowan Rhodes couldn’t help but wonder, "Will the Void Beast be able to maintain this innocence after working for a while?"
"Do you still need Space Stones?" the Void Beast continued.
"I do. How many can you sell me?" Rowan Rhodes asked curiously.
"The daily limit is ten thousand," the Void Beast said. "If we start today, there are still a lot left. Do you want them all?"
So there was a limit. No wonder in her previous life, some players who arrived early had never encountered the Void Beast; it turned out the Space Stones had simply run out. But having a limit was, in a way, a form of resource plundering against the players. When players used Space Stones to increase their inventory slots, the items were consumed, but if a player died, the Space Stones would drop as loot.
"I want all of them, but what should I use to trade with you? Food? Equipment? Resources? Trading Coins?" Rowan Rhodes continued asking.
The Void Beast was quite shocked to hear her say she wanted everything. Her appetite was simply too big.
"For delicious food like the ones from earlier: twenty F-level dishes for one Space Stone, and ten E-level dishes for one Space Stone. For food with special Effects, it’s one dish for one Space Stone. Edible ingredients: twenty F-level portions for one Space Stone, and ten E-level portions for one Space Stone. Usable medicinal herbs: twenty F-level portions for one Space Stone, and ten E-level portions for one. Or, one thousand Trading Coins can be exchanged for one Space Stone."
Compared to its previous simple-mindedness, the Void Beast was exceptionally clear and organized when discussing trades.
Rowan Rhodes was a little surprised as she listened. It was obvious that trading with cooked food, fruits, and vegetables was the easiest route. From the looks of it, food, fruits, and vegetables were likely hard currency when dealing with NPCs. As for Trading Coins, they were probably the standard currency among the NPCs themselves.
But for Rowan Rhodes right now, was this trade feasible?
It was more than feasible!
Since she had the opportunity to monopolize all ten thousand Space Stones today, she would be a fool to pass it up. Conveniently, she could also use this chance to clean out her Storage Box.
"Let me give you the prepared meals first. What I can trade you right now includes one hundred portions of E-level food and two hundred portions of D-level food, which covers twenty-five Space Stones. I also have four hundred F-level fruits and vegetables, which covers twenty Space Stones. That’s forty-five Space Stones in total. As for the rest of the Space Stones, shall we settle the balance with Trading Coins?"
Rowan Rhodes had more than enough Trading Coins on hand right now. Ten thousand Space Stones would only cost ten million Trading Coins—an amount she could easily afford.
As for why she offered the fruits, vegetables, and cooked food first? It was because she knew the Void Beast liked them. The amount she had was more than enough for her own personal use, but on the scale of this massive trade, it was far too little. However, there was no time to grow more crops right now, so she decided to secure the Stones using Trading Coins first.
"Deal!" the Void Beast agreed readily, its tone tinged with surprise. "Human, you really are rich!"
Rowan Rhodes smiled. "It’s alright. I just have quite a few ways to make money."
If not for the Sea Survival Shop, being able to buy even a few hundred Stones from the Void Beast right now would have been a lot. Thankfully, she had used her cheat to open the Sea Survival Shop, granting her the opportunity to reap profits from the entire server’s player base!
Sometimes, making the right choice truly mattered more than working hard.
"Then let’s trade!"
As soon as the Void Beast spoke, Rowan Rhodes saw a notification pop up on her interface.
[The Void Beast, Atticus, has initiated a trade with you: Space Stone x9980. Please enter your trade items. The trade will be officially finalized once both parties agree.]
Atticus? So this Void Beast had a name! Furthermore, this trading process seemed far more formal than she remembered from her previous life.
With these thoughts in mind, Rowan Rhodes inputted the previously agreed-upon items and funds. The moment the trade was completed, an eye-catching message appeared in front of her.
[Congratulations, Player. You have obtained Space Stone x9980 through your trade with Atticus. Please place them in your inventory.]
[Space Stones detected as special commodities. They can be used to directly upgrade your backpack. Please confirm the quantity to be used.]
Evidently, Rowan Rhodes didn’t have enough backpack slots to store them all, so the Space Stones were currently in a pending state. However, since they could be used to expand the backpack, the system temporarily accommodated them.
True to her Nature, Rowan Rhodes gleefully began the upgrade process.
Backpack slots—expand, expand, expand!
She currently had thirty slots. Her first step was to add seventy more, rounding out the first page to a full one hundred slots. As she added another hundred, a second page appeared in her backpack interface, indicating that each page had a maximum capacity of one hundred slots.
Rowan Rhodes continued to expand her inventory page by page. When she reached the tenth page, hitting a total of one thousand slots, a new system prompt popped up.
