When the Saintess Arrives, No King Exist
Chapter 1463: The Final Dawn (Part 1)
A more terrifying thought rose in his mind, and Munger couldn’t help but shiver.
The Ninth and Eleventh Corps descended the mountain; he brought the Ninth Corps here and was entangled by ten thousand men, while the Eleventh Corps on the south line, along with the main force of the Royal Palace Army on the south line, were tied down by Dass.
What else is there on Holy Grail Heights?
Besides the clan army defenses at the front, there’s only the First Corps and Serafe’s own guards.
Totaling just over ten thousand troops.
Currently, the artillery positions have already been engaged by aerial warships and soldiers of the Shadow Crow Army, and there are even witches parachuting down from the warships.
The original artillery can hardly be of much use; the only thing that can halt the advance of the Holy Alliance Army is the fortifications at the front.
But facing thirty thousand of the Holy Alliance’s main force, without artillery cover, how long can the fortifications hold?
Instinctively, he turned his head and gazed towards Holy Grail Heights, as if sensing something, Serafe’s scream echoed in Munger’s mind.
“Reinforce! Immediately!”
Almost at the same time, Konyaz had already crossed half the battlefield, flying towards him.
Konyaz, usually so calm, even had his ears slightly flushed, not to mention the crimson bloodshot in his eyes.
“Lord Konyaz…”
“Enough with the nonsense, get your three battalions up the mountain at once; Kamira can’t break free, but she will do her best to stall the enemy’s advance. You need to find a way to bring the remaining troops up the mountain for support.”
Looking at the Holy Alliance Army within arm’s reach, Munger could only smile bitterly, “Sir, we are about to engage…”
“I don’t care, I don’t want to hear your explanations, I just want Holy Grail Heights!” Konyaz almost roared these words at Munger.
And Munger could only nod in agreement, then ordered his officers to arrange the rear guard.
“I will go to instruct the southern line troops to return for defense; hold out for a little longer, tell His Majesty that if he holds firm, there’s a way!”
“Yes.”
After issuing orders to Munger, Konyaz then turned and flew towards Jiangxin Isle on the southern line.
As the cold wind brushed his face, he calmed down slightly, only to suddenly realize that he couldn’t think of any solution at that moment.
He had experienced countless battlefields, saying similar words countless times.
How many times had he found a path to survival from certain death, turning defeat into victory, relying on his strategies.
Yet now he couldn’t find any solution, because all solutions started with “holding firm.”
At least, those fortifications could stall the Holy Alliance for a while longer, and if the southern line quickly stopped the losses and pulled back the troops, maybe the defeat could be turned into a draw.
At least a draw that leaves both sides wounded, there’s still hope, there’s still…
“Bang!”
The lead easily pierced through Konyaz’s wing membrane, and like a falling star, he plunged headlong towards the ground.
Thankfully, he still had half a bat wing, saving him from a severe crash, his guards shielding him as he raised his head, seeing a woman’s figure in the sky.
It was naturally Witch Novia, who briskly discarded the large spiral gun to lighten her load; she made a grimace at Konyaz and then vanished into the horizon.
Clenching his teeth, Konyaz pointed to the guard beside him, “You go relay the orders, I’ll head straight for the mountain.”
“Sir, shouldn’t you bandage first? You seem to have a fracture…”
“No time, didn’t you hear me? No time!” As if feeling no pain, Konyaz mounted his horse, “Quick, go, we have at most one hour, if reinforcements don’t come in that hour, we’re all dead!”
“Why?”
“One more hour—then it’ll be daylight!”
