Chapter 1462 -1370: The Final Dawn (Part 1)

The frontal battlefield is hopeless; the only passage is this relatively steep mountain path on the flank where artillery can’t reach the latter half.

Due to the terrain constraints of lakes, rivers, and ponds on the flank, only about ten thousand troops can be deployed.

Even if all the troops on the north line press down, as long as our side holds on, we can coordinate the artillery transfer from Holy Grail Heights and pin the Holy Alliance Army completely in place.

Then once the Southern Royal Palace Army breaches the west bank, the outcome of the battle will be decided.

There’s no way the Holy Alliance could hold on the south line almost the entire night while they can’t last until the arrival of artillery support!

Now, not only can the southern line achieve victory, but perhaps the previously defeated northern line could also turn the tables and even encircle the enemy.

As three battalions directly headed for Ackerman Village, Munger also commanded his troops to deploy, ready to intercept the opposing Holy Alliance Army.

The opposing Holy Alliance Army had evidently spotted Munger’s arrival and quickly dispatched two regiments and several hundred cavalry towards them.

“Ha! Not only not retreating, but actually approaching me? Wait, that’s not right.” Munger stopped mid-sentence, suddenly swallowing his words, and instead looked suspiciously towards the smoke screen.

Because these two regiments did not pursue Ackerman Village, but came directly charging at Munger.

We are the interceptors here; you are the intercepted side, what’s going on with approaching voluntarily?

Ordinarily, you’d be eager to seize the passage, while we should be the ones anxious to engage, right?

If the opponent were the Empire, Munger would only think they were lost, or the enemy general went off the rails.

But the opponent is the Holy Alliance, he wouldn’t have the slightest bit of wishful thinking.

The Holy Alliance is quietly conspiring something!

Before Munger could order the senior vampire to sneak over and investigate, he smelled a strong scent of blood.

His hair and the hem of his clothes began to sway, his hairs stood on end, and almost instinctively, he looked towards the sky.

The wind, a strong gale carrying the scent of blood and mana blew past.

A spell over such a wide range, His Majesty is…

This wind cannot blow heavy soldiers, barely even shifting the sand, yet it can scatter the smoke rising from the Holy Alliance’s burnings on the battlefield.

The swirling fire drake smoke roared, sweeping up grass and leaves, ultimately towards the Mud Ditch River, and finally revealing the scene on the Holy Grail Heights.

Somehow, the dark clouds had already dispersed.

And beneath the crescent moon, above the clouds, still, there were two massive creatures blocking the moonlight.

They are the Holy Alliance’s floating warships!

She possesses a spindle-shaped massive body, occasionally dropping plasma bombs from the bottom of the hull.

Under the gasbags on both sides of the hull, the panels kept opening and closing, shooting out clusters of black shadows.

That dark shadow first flew horizontally for a distance, then spread its wings, like ravens, diving straight down towards the artillery positions on Holy Grail Heights.

Not only were there shadow crow monks, but also those death-defying gliders who never returned.

They were equipped with light air backpacks, only allowing two or three eject flights.

Before capturing the positions and descending of the airship, they could only engage in a bloody battle on this densely packed enemy mountain terrain.

And above the artillery positions, the Royal Court’s senior vampires similarly unfolded their bat wings, crashing head-on into the diving ravens.

On Holy Grail Heights, the shadows descended like a swarm of bees, while the ground shadows similarly rose like flocks of birds.

Both sides circled and spiraled in pursuit, shooting, crashing, and falling over the Holy Grail Heights, resembling a scene of bats dancing with ravens under the twilight of doomsday.

No wonder, no wonder the artillery positions on the heights had such sparse artillery fire!

Ignoring the dissuasion from nearby soldiers, Munger insisted, like other senior vampires, on unfolding his wings and flying up, looking further afield.

Before the saddle-shaped depression, dust rose from the ground, symbolizing the Holy Alliance’s red-black flags advancing like swimming schools of fish.

And on the ground, underneath the schools formed by the flags, countless thick black lines surged towards Holy Grail Heights like a flood.

The ground trembled as armor clashed, countless Holy Alliance soldiers strained to maintain formation, marching at their fastest pace.

They were almost charging, charging towards Holy Grail Heights.

Crushing brushwood, crossing groves, shattering the thin ice on creeks, the hot breath from their mouths almost connecting into a long river.

In such a winter, sweat turns cold just as it flows out, but the Holy Alliance soldiers pressed forward, heedless!

Holy Grail Heights is right in front of them, victory is right in front of them!

“Saint’s Grandson be with us!”

Faintly, Munger heard singing, it was the song from countless citizens of the Holy Alliance.

“We are the Salvation Army of the Holy Alliance!”

“Our boots crush tyrants!”

“Spears forward, advance!”

His ears reddened; for vampires whose blood is as thick as mercury, this was already a sign of high blood pressure.

This scale, definitely not just twenty thousand, maybe thirty thousand!

According to previous intelligence, the Holy Alliance had a total of sixty thousand troops, thirty thousand on the north line, thirty thousand on the south line, where did this extra ten thousand come from?

Munger finally understood, this group of soldiers was not coming to assault the side passage at all, but to intercept them.

The Holy Alliance had hidden this ten thousand troops tenaciously, refusing to reveal even in the most urgent times, just for now.

They must have been stationed in some corner of the west bank, once something happened, they’d cross the river and intercept the reinforcements from the south line.

The thirty thousand on Chunan Highland weren’t reserves at all; this ten thousand here is the reserve, they were all tricked!
