Chapter 1388: Chapter 1260: The Battle of Mott (Part 2)

On the plains beneath Mount Mott, behind the neatly arranged ranks of vampire infantry, one could see numerous pointed helmets adorned with red tassels.

They were, on average, a head taller than the mounted vampire cavalry, with arms as thick as an average person’s thighs.

As for their bodies, every inch of skin was covered by heavy black steel plate armor, with pink flesh visible in the gaps between the plates.

If it weren’t for the pair of blood-red, lidless eyes on the helmet, one might have mistaken them for animated armor.

In their right hand, they single-handedly wielded a greatsword, while their left hand held a shield as large as a door.

Most of them carried a backpack loaded with remains, connected to a large-caliber blood contract gun hanging from their waist.

Flesh Titans!

By forcibly enhancing Frontier Knights and Leia’s hundreds of Imperial Knights, who were on the verge of breaking through as Great Knights using potions obtained from Golden Horn Bay.

Then, during this transformation process, using blood magic, integrating them with ogres and black steel armor.

Almost every one of them must be personally refined by Serafe. Despite their underdeveloped cerebellum compared to the slow-moving Great Knights, they were much faster.

Not to the level of warhorses, but matching the speed of regular humans was no problem.

They were essentially specialized for speed and healing power, but at the cost of devolving other Great Knight capabilities.

Ailifu nearly screamed. As a survivor of the Battle of Gewu City, Ailifu, then a mere soldier, personally witnessed the Flesh Titans.

He had seen with his own eyes, three Flesh Titans accompanying the somewhat inexperienced Blood Race infantry, decisively breaking through nearly triple their enemy forces.

Boasting a record of three hundred defeating fifty thousand.

At this moment, there stood at least fifty Flesh Titans on the mountain pass below, demonstrating Konyaz’s focus on the attack in this direction.

While Ailifu stood frozen in fear and shock, Lanius had already dispatched huntsmen to attempt an assault on them with helical guns equipped with conical steel-tipped armor-piercing rounds.

Huntsmen in the woods moved swiftly, and upon reaching their positions, quickly drew their helical guns, aiming directly at the shoulder armor of a Flesh Titan.

"Ding——"

With a crisp sound, Ailifu’s heart tightened from behind the low wall—did it hit?

The Flesh Titan in the scope paused briefly, halting for a half-second before advancing again.

Through the scope, it was barely visible—a bullet embedded halfway in the surface of the shoulder armor.

But from the bullet hole, there was no sign of blood flowing out.

If steel-tipped bullets were useless, ordinary lead bullets were out of the question.

"Fuck." Lanius cursed, "Thankfully, I exchanged twenty boxes of steel-tipped bullets from the Quartermaster using Falan’s Red Steel Greatsword. Everyone switch to steel-tipped rounds."

Due to the mechanical firing mechanism of the clockwork guns, bullet materials were hardly a problem; even a stone could be fired if desired.

The Holy Mechanism Court even had a type of fluorite tracer steel-tipped bullet that, once shot into a vampire body, would emit a flash.

Sadly, the refined fluorite was exorbitantly expensive and was only equipped in small quantities for the Imperial Guard and Black Champion’s Vanguard Corps.

As for Lanius, he could only divide the twenty boxes of steel-tipped bullets.

While soldiers were exchanging steel-tipped bullets, the Flesh Titans had already begun their charge.

The ground trembled as if some enormous beast was awakening from beneath.

On the mountain pass, three Flesh Titans boldly charged forward.

Their footsteps thundered against the ground, a muffled echo causing rocks on the mountain path to tumble down.

Even Falan’s soldiers, along with those from the Holy Alliance, had stiff expressions.

"Three-pound cannons! Fire!" Lanius screamed.

Four pre-aimed clockwork cannons roared simultaneously, four iron balls whistling straight towards the three Flesh Titans.

"Boom" - a massive explosion as an iron ball struck the underside of one Titan’s breastplate.

The black steel armor bent inward instantly, erupting with sparks.

As for the iron ball, it rebounded downward, crashing against his shin.

The Flesh Titan’s form suddenly hunched, staggering back two steps, with a noticeable limp in the left leg.

A sharp whistle echoed from the mountain below; after hesitating momentarily, it turned and hobbled back.

Repelling one didn’t bring much satisfaction.

Because the remaining two Flesh Titans, without pause, continued their charge, bodies sparking wildly from steel-tipped bullet impacts.

"Oh, damn it, damn it!" Many soldiers screamed, "It’s here!"

Sand and wood chips flew, and the low wall collapsed in response.

Several soldiers failing to dodge were struck unconscious, nearly at the same time, seven or eight bayonets stabbed out at difficult angles.

Then the Flesh Titan threw down its large shield with its left hand, drew the large-caliber blood contract gun from its waist, and fired into the crowd.

"Whizz, whizz" - in the piercing sound, the shell spread like a fan, instantly knocking down the soldiers at the forefront.

Seizing the empty front gap, the two Titans headed straight for the rear artillery positions.

Their massive bodies collided, and two clockwork cannons were forcibly overturned.

The Flesh Titans swung their dual-handed greatswords single-handedly, slaughtering soldiers indiscriminately, blood erupting everywhere.

The two Titans resembled two moving steel fortresses, causing chaos within the ranks.

The soldiers couldn’t organize effective volleys; any attempt at formation was disrupted by the Flesh Titan’s onslaught.

The fired steel-tipped bullets could only momentarily stall the Titans’ advance.

If not for the Flesh Titan’s scattergun firing only once and visible uncoordinated movements that couldn’t navigate complex trenches and grounds, the frontline would have collapsed.

In fact, the frontline was nearing collapse.

At that moment, vampire infantry seized the chance to swarm from below the mountain pass.

As for Falan’s line, a small batch of deserters was scattered.

This scene was too terrifying; this wasn’t merely soldiers, it was practically a youthful version of Great Knights.

"You pigsty!"

As the line seemed on the verge of total collapse, a figure suddenly charged out from the trench.

It was a young soldier from the Holy Alliance, bent over with something in his arms, bloodshot eyes, enraged by his comrades’ deaths.

He stiffened his neck, roaring, and lunged at the nearest Flesh Titan.

"Don’t go!" Lanius, trying to align the cannon mount, was livid upon witnessing this.

Close combat with such a giant was certain death.

As anticipated by Lanius, upon nearing, a sword swung, and a young head flew into the air.

What he was holding finally revealed itself—it was five plasma grenades.

But next moment, a white light ignited.

Before the Titan’s sword struck, he had already pulled the pin, forcefully throwing the plasma grenades.

"Boom——" a blinding white flash erupted, instantly melting the Titan’s abdominal armor, exposing the writhing flesh inside.

Seeing this, several soldiers rushed courageously forward, diverting its vision.

A sergeant seized the opportunity to dive under its crotch, gripping the bayonet tightly, thrusting upwards, piercing through its heart.

"Die for me——" the sergeant roared ferociously.

Dark red blood suddenly erupted, soaring at least two or three meters high.

Like a fountain, the viscous blood sprayed for a while, and the massive body crashed down, raising a cloud of dust.

The other Flesh Titan paused upon seeing its comrade fall.

It glanced down at the corpse, then around at the Holy Alliance soldiers regrouping with fiery eyes, a hint of hesitation flashing in its blood-red eyes.

The whistle from the mountain below echoed again. Without further engagement, it turned, took long strides, and retreated swiftly to the vampire ranks, halting the charge.

The tide of vampires dared not continue and retreated like waves.

Breathing heavily, Lanius leaned against the broken wall, about to rejoice that they had repelled the Flesh Titans, accomplishing the impossible.

But upon turning his head, the recent joy instantly vanished.

The field was already in chaos, collapsed fortifications, overturned cannon carts, littered with corpses and blood, with the air reeking of scorched and bloody stench.

As for the mountain path below, the remaining dozens of Flesh Titans stood silently upright.

Red tassels fluttered in the wind, black steel armor glinted coldly in the sun, obviously preparing for another charge.

More vampire infantry lined up in neat ranks, stirring with intent.

"I think." A voice from behind Lanius spoke, "We should retreat."
