Chapter 1368: You’ve Become Scheming Too (Part 1)

He and Zhou Chengchen were each busy with their own things, and because their lives were filled with work, they didn’t really feel too out of sorts from the distance between them.

It was the same for she; she genuinely wanted to do this well.

Very soon, Zhou Qi found a small shop for her. It happened to be the weekend, so Zhou Qi came over and picked she up to go take a look together.

The shop wasn’t big, the kind where you could only order and then take away. The back was the kitchen, the front was the ordering area, exactly what she had in mind.

More importantly, the location wasn’t a prime commercial area, so the rent and such were relatively cheaper, but for a milk tea shop it was actually a good spot, because not far across the street there was a fairly large language training school.

Next door was a taekwondo studio, so the location could be called excellent.

The only not-so-good thing was that it was far from the Xiao Family home, though it was very close to Zhou Qi’s team base—only about a fifteen-minute walk.

"The not-so-good thing is that it’s a bit far from your house. If you really open here, you’ll end up spending a lot of time on the road going back and forth every day."

She could see such an obvious issue, so of course Zhou Qi could see it too. But aside from this one point, the place was really flawless, and in Zhou Qi’s heart, there was inevitably a bit of selfishness.

Even though He had no intention of letting the girl in front of him know his feelings, even though He knew there could never be anything between them, knowing that didn’t mean his mood would obediently follow.

If emotions could be handled so rationally, then what would be the point of calling them emotions.

Still, even with his selfishness, Zhou Qi didn’t intend to make the decision for she. Besides this place, He had found a few others, though none were as suitable as this one, but they were all not far from the Xiao Family home.

Yet she, for once, made a straightforward decision: "Let’s take this one. I really like it."

"It’s farther from your house."

She smiled a little. "It’s okay, I can rent a place nearby. I was already planning to move out anyway."

"All right, I’ll help you look. I know this area well."

Zhou Qi agreed, and she gave a sweet smile without refusing. He really did know this area better.

Once the shop was settled, the truly tedious part began. After paying the rent, Zhou Qi handed she a bank card. "Cheng Chen asked me to give this to you."

She pressed her lips together and took it. She didn’t turn it down—not because she wanted to take advantage of anyone, but because this was something Zhou Chengchen had brought up with she beforehand, and right now she really did need the money.

She hadn’t gone to her parents, and the money she had on hand came from New Year’s money and allowance she’d been given since she was little, plus the gifts from relatives when she got into college.

She was someone who didn’t really spend money recklessly, and while the Xiao Family couldn’t be called some grand wealthy clan, they were certainly well-off and never had to worry about food and clothing. With Mr. Xiao and Mrs. Xiao both being generous with she, after all these years, bit by bit, compared to many of her peers, she could already count as a little rich lady.

But even so, when it came to opening a shop, she was still far from having enough.

So she didn’t refuse Zhou Chengchen’s joining in; she would pay it back later.

With Zhou Qi’s help, everything moved very quickly. He found people to handle the renovations, and He also accompanied she to apply for all the permits needed to open the shop. The process went very smoothly; some permits still had to be waited on, but it was already quite good.

On the day they received the business license, Zhou Qi looked at the girl whose face was glowing with joy and smiled as well. "Want to go take a look at the apartment?"

"You found one?"

"Yeah."

"Great."
