When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase

Chapter 1367: Is My Brother’s Springtime Coming?

  • Next Chapter

In the next few days, Xiao Rou didn’t see Zhou Qi again. Although she had handed over the shop matters to Zhou Qi and didn’t have to worry about them herself, she still seriously studied what it takes to open a milk tea shop.

This idea wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision for Xiao Rou; she had already thought deeply about many things in her mind.

Meanwhile, back in the United Kingdom, Zhou Chengchen finally got a break from the busy start of the school term and chose a convenient time for both of them to video call Xiao Rou.

"How’s it going? What’s your progress over there?"

Zhou Chengchen asked over the video call, and Xiao Rou told her about the situation. Xiao Rou was very earnest in her work, explaining every little detail clearly.

Zhou Chengchen didn’t quite grasp the intricacies, but since Xiao Rou was explaining, she listened.

After talking about business for a few exchanges, Zhou Chengchen was the first to deviate: "My brother is so hopeless, why hasn’t he found the right one yet? I’ll beat him up when I get back."

"No, no, it was because he misunderstood before, which caused the delay. I’ve already troubled him enough."

Xiao Rou quickly explained, and Zhou Chengchen chuckled a couple of times: "Why do I feel like you’re speaking up for my brother?"

"Ah? No, not at all."

Xiao Rou immediately denied it, but her blushing cheeks betrayed her. Zhou Chengchen had only been joking casually, but she didn’t expect truly to see Xiao Rou blush.

Sitting in front of the computer, munching on an apple, she almost dropped the apple on the floor.

She immediately wanted to tease Xiao Rou further, but considering Xiao Rou’s personality, Zhou Chengchen swallowed her words.

Joking with Xiao Rou mustn’t be overdone; otherwise, she’d retreat into her shell, which would be troublesome.

Zhou Chengchen quickly changed the topic and didn’t continue, and after chatting a while longer, she was the first to end the video call.

No sooner had she done that, she opened a video call with Xi Siyan.

As soon as the video connected, Zhou Chengchen’s eyes sparkled as she called out to Xi Siyan: "Si Yan, Si Yan, I’ve got some big gossip."

"Hmm?"

Xi Siyan, wearing headphones, responded softly.

"I just video-called Little Rou’er, and when I mentioned my brother, her cheeks turned red. Do you think my silly brother’s spring has arrived?"

Xi Siyan was currently in his apartment, leaning against the sofa with his laptop on his lap. Upon hearing Zhou Chengchen’s words, he didn’t immediately react but instead crossed his arms, lightly tapping the other arm with his finger.

Then, with a smile, he said, "Cheng Chen, you said you just video-called Xiao Rou?"

"That’s right."

"So, I wasn’t the first?"

"..."

A string of ellipses appeared over Zhou Chengchen’s head.

Brother, is this the point?

"That’s... not important, right?"

"Hmm? Not important? What if? I think it’s very important."

Maybe it was Zhou Chengchen’s illusion, but she felt that when Xi Siyan said the words "very important," he slightly emphasized them.

A chill ran down Zhou Chengchen’s spine, and she quickly put on a smiling face: "Brother Siyan, you’re the best, don’t be mad."

"Hmm, not to be repeated."

The smile on Xi Siyan’s face deepened a bit, and Zhou Chengchen immediately nodded fervently.

She knew well that this crafty classmate of hers responds better to softness than to force.

After throwing in some sweet words, Zhou Chengchen didn’t dare bring up the gossip about Xiao Rou again. She had indeed been busy these days, only making a call to Xi Siyan when she could; they hadn’t been in touch much.
