Chapter 161: Chapter 158: Charming Fox Maiden x Cold-faced Wolf King 8

"Cangwu, I’ll go face them. Don’t go up against Lin Wanwan. What if you don’t make it? You still have to be the father of my child."

Ji Xiaosong blocked Feng Cangwu, who had been about to go out. Her mission in this world wasn’t finished yet; she couldn’t let the father of her child get into any trouble.

She had heard before that the luck of a transmigrated woman could influence the Heavenly Dao. ’Since I can still fight, I might as well be the one to go.’

"Song, Lin Wanwan and her people came prepared. This is a surprise attack, so you’re definitely not ready for it. Why not use Spells? I think that’s your safest bet."

Feng Cangwu held Ji Xiaosong’s hand, his face full of worry.

"It’s fine. I’m doing this to protect all of you, so it shouldn’t be a big problem. If something really does happen, you’ll protect me, right?"

"I will!"

"Then that’s settled. Let’s go."

Outside the Wolf Clan’s territory, the instant an explosion tore through the morning mist, Ji Xiaosong’s fingertip drew the final rune on a piece of beast hide with her Spiritual Power.

Twelve stone pillars engraved with Spirit Patterns rose from the ground, forming a pale golden Barrier around the Wolf Clan’s territory.

BANG!

The second gunpowder bomb slammed against the Barrier and exploded, the shockwave sending three charging Tiger Clan warriors flying.

Lin Wanwan’s smartwatch suddenly burst with a blinding electric light, the holographic tactical map distorting into scrambled code.

"Now!"

Ji Xiaosong bit the tip of her tongue, spraying out a mist of blood, and the twelve stone pillars lit up simultaneously.

The metal device on Lin Wanwan’s wrist started to smoke, and strange rust spots appeared on the bronze armor of the Tiger Clan warriors.

Feng Cangwu stood at the highest point of the sacrificial altar, his long hair dancing wildly in the Spiritual Pressure.

He stared at the girl’s faltering figure, the Healing Spiritual Light he had gathered in his palm quietly dissipating.

When the seventh gunpowder bomb exploded against the Barrier, he saw blood beads seeping from the tip of Ji Xiaosong’s ear.

"Cangwu... just hold on... for a little longer..."

The girl’s telepathic message was a broken, breathy whisper.

She dug her ten fingers into the ground. The golden light flowing through her Spirit Veins was already showing black spots.

The twelve stone pillars began to crack, yet they continued to faithfully drain their host’s life force.

Slowly, Ji Xiaosong passed out.

Feng Cangwu’s Adam’s apple bobbed. The Bone Flute in his sleeve suddenly let out a sharp whistle.

This was a secret signal that only he and the Priest understood, meaning to stop the transfer of Spiritual Power.

But the Wolf Clan Priest was currently kneeling before a shattered totem pole, pouring all his Power of Faith into the Array’s core.

The moment the thirtieth Tiger Clan warrior broke through the Barrier, Ji Xiaosong coughed up a mouthful of blood that stained the front of her clothes.

Feng Cangwu finally moved. His wolf tail pierced the heavens, and the might of the Beast God instantly froze the battlefield.

A scream caught in Lin Wanwan’s throat.

She watched as her gunpowder case turned to Ashes in a burst of golden flames, and her smartwatch’s chip was pierced by an icicle formed from Spiritual Power.

The Tiger Clan Leader was frozen in a pouncing posture, already turned into an ice sculpture.

"Sleep now, Song."

Feng Cangwu caught her falling form, his fingertips brushing across the girl’s neck.

When he turned around, the surviving members of the Tiger Clan were all kneeling on the ground, and Lin Wanwan was bound in a cocoon of Spirit Ropes, hanging from a sacrificial flag.

Feng Cangwu emanated a chilling golden light, a light that contained endless rage and killing intent.

He slowly raised his hand, aiming his palm at Lin Wanwan, still hanging cocooned in Spirit Ropes from the sacrificial flag. A golden ball of energy began to form in his hand, crackling with hissing arcs of electricity.

"Hah. Ignorant and foolish. Did you really think you could change this world?"

Feng Cangwu’s voice was deep and icy, as if it had come from the Nine Netherworld Hell.

Lin Wanwan watched the approaching energy ball, her face a mask of terror. She struggled desperately, trying to break free from the Spirit Ropes, but it was all in vain.

"No, don’t kill me! I was wrong! I’ll never do it again!"

Lin Wanwan screamed hoarsely, her voice filled with terror and despair.

But Feng Cangwu showed not a shred of pity. His eyes held only firmness and resolve.

With a push of his palm, the golden energy ball shot toward Lin Wanwan like a meteor.

The instant the energy ball made contact with Lin Wanwan, it erupted in a blinding flash of light, followed by a deafening explosion.

After the light faded, there was only emptiness where Lin Wanwan had been. Not even a speck of ash remained, as if she had never existed in this world at all.

"High Priest, clean this place up. As for the Tiger Clan, teach them a lesson and then let them go."

"Yes, my King."

Feng Cangwu carried Ji Xiaosong back to their cave. As mist rose from the Cold Jade Bed in its depths, two spirit locks entwined with fox tails appeared on Ji Xiaosong’s wrists.

Feng Cangwu licked the trace of blood from the corner of her lips, then took a mouthful of medicine brewed from thousand-year-old ginseng and fed it to her, mouth-to-mouth.

Newly carved talismans on the cave wall glowed with an eerie light. It was a Prison Spirit Array that not even an Ancient Divine Beast could escape.

"Song, in this life, I will never let you leave me again."

The mist from the Cold Jade Bed crept up Ji Xiaosong’s pale ankles, condensing into tiny Ice Crystals.

Feng Cangwu’s fingertips traced along the spirit locks. Every time they touched the girl’s skin, the chains would blossom with crimson-gold Tumi flowers.

"You’re always so disobedient."

He took Ji Xiaosong’s earlobe into his mouth, his sharp teeth piercing the delicate skin. "When you left me three hundred years ago, I should have locked you to the Parasol Tree."

The sleeping girl suddenly trembled. The chains, forged from Ice Jade Marrow, abruptly tightened, leaving red marks on her wrists.

But Feng Cangwu only chuckled softly and brushed his fingers over the marks. With a surge of Spiritual Power, the marks transformed into tattoos of entwining vines.

The Wolf Clan Priest’s voice sounded from outside the cave, making a report. Feng Cangwu casually cast a soundproof barrier.

He untied Ji Xiaosong’s sash and branded a Marriage Contract in the shape of a Phoenix Mark onto her chest.

’Song is sure to cause a scene when she wakes up.’

He licked the searing brand, his wolf tail unfurling behind him to form a cage. "Maybe I should just brand her with the other eight contracts. After all..."

Before he could finish, Ji Xiaosong’s eyes suddenly flew open.

She instinctively raised her hand to form a hand seal, only to find her Spiritual Power locked deep within her dantian.

Twelve jade pillars carved with incantations suddenly rose from the Cold Jade Bed. The chains connected to the spirit locks on her wrists instantly pulled taut, restraining her on the bed in a spread-eagled position.

"Cangwu, are you insane? Why have you locked me up?"

Ji Xiaosong struggled, making the chains CLANG and rattle. "Let me go!"

Feng Cangwu unhurriedly untied his own belt, his wolf tail coiling around the girl’s ankle. "The day you trespassed on my Divine Mountain, you should have known the consequences of provoking an Ancient Divine Beast."

An ice-blue flame condensed on his fingertip. "This Dragon Capturing Array used three of my Phoenix Flame Spirit Tail Feathers. Do you like it, Song?"

He suddenly bent down and bit the girl’s collarbone, the taste of blood filling his mouth.

The moment Ji Xiaosong cried out in pain, Feng Cangwu pushed a Blood-colored Jade Pearl into her mouth.

The Jade Pearl dissolved the moment it went down her throat, turning into countless golden threads that wrapped around her spirit core.

"What did you make me eat!"

"A Love Charm."

Feng Cangwu stroked the girl’s suddenly constricted pupils. "From now on, every time you use your Spiritual Power, Song, the love poison will burrow deeper into your Spirit Veins."

He took Ji Xiaosong’s hand and pressed it against his heart. "Once the love poison takes root, you will never be able to escape my grasp."

Outside the cave, thunder suddenly boomed, and a torrential rain began to fall.

Ji Xiaosong stared at the newly carved Hehuan Totem on the cave wall and suddenly realized that it wasn’t a Prison Spirit Array at all. It was a Marriage Contract that used the entire Wolf Clan territory as its focal point.

"I wasn’t going to run away in this life. You really didn’t have to lock me up."
