Chapter 298: The Beginning Of Wrath

I ripped the door off its hinges with a loud crack, making sure that my arrival would be heard.

I strolled in, not caring about being subtle as I let my floating gauntlets lead the way.

There was a clatter of noise coming from inside the bunker, no doubt the inhabitants figuring out that they had an intruder coming in.

I strolled forward, moving past the diner section to head down the ramp and into the bunker proper.

There was a shout somewhere which I assumed was probably Ach yelling out a warning to the rest of his group members.

I advanced further and right on cue, the guy who had first threatened me with that laser scanner thing appeared at the entrance.

"You!!" He roared upon seeing me, not even hesitating to raise the gun at me to pull the trigger.

The beam struck my projected shield, leaving not even a mark on its surface.

Good. I was prepared to dive to the side if that thing somehow could break my shield, which would have been weird seeing Dan could block it with his.

I only had one question.

"Why?" I asked, not even bothering to be specific about what exactly I was asking about.

That guy seemed to know exactly what I wanted to know since he fired a few more shots while shouting, "Fuck you! Fucking mutants!! All of you should just be dead! Other world or not! All of you don’t deserve to live!! The only good mutant is a dead one!!"

The shots landed on my shield that I projected in front of me, not even pushing me back.

I went ahead to move one of my floating arms forward and smacked him across the face, hard enough to knock a few teeth out.

He fell onto the ground, the gun clattering away from him.

There was a shout before Ach appeared at the doorway, looking at the prone form of the piece of trash laying on the floor before gaping at me with my floating arms.

He quickly raised his arms, "Wait! Wait!! Let’s all just calm down!"

I turned to him, "You were part of the plan, weren’t you?"

He gritted his teeth and looked like he was going to deny it for a moment before he reconsidered, "Yes... Yes I was..."

"Why? We gave you shelter and a way out... Was this always part of the plan? You would enter our camp and then blow it up from the inside?"

He furrowed his brows, "You wouldn’t understand. You’re an outsider."

"Maybe... What about the other city then? The one you caused the entire cavern to collapse?"

"We’ve been planning that for a while already. We were supposed to work together with the other survivor group to prepare for it. We never had any intentions to give that up."

"And you just decided to add our camp... My people... Into your plan of blowing things up?"

"Did you think we would just let some alien invaders coming through a portal free to do whatever they want just because they come from another world? You were a fool to trust us to begin with. The only thing I regret is not being able to kill you with it."

"You have resolved yourself to die then?"

He tilted up his chin, "Sure. Even with my death, there will be more of us. You can’t kill us all. You might have those weird hands but with enough of us, even we can take you down. The others already know you might be coming for them. They are prepared."

I paused for a moment before narrowing my eyes.

It was this moment that it hit me.

These people... I had been trying to make myself appear normal, to appear mortal, to make myself look harmless... Just so that I could connect with them and not make them fear me...

But that made them believe I was actually weak...

A laser beam hit my shield again while I was distracted, the beam striking against my shield and once again not leaving a single scratch.

I didn’t even notice it at first until I shook myself out of my stupor, seeing the guy still shooting at me desperately.

At this point, it felt like I was looking at the world through a lens and things were just happening around me outside of my control.

Then things suddenly snapped back into razor sharp focus.

The first thing I did was to move to stand over the guy that was shooting at me, my foot lifting up to stomp down on his wrist and snapping it.

While he was screaming, I lifted up my palm to burn off his other hand, leaving just a charred chunk of flesh at the end of his wrist.

I then moved to Ach, the guy just staring at the sight of his friend that had his wrists broken, only to jerk in surprise when he realised I was now standing in front of him.

I grabbed him by his neck and lifted him up, right as another scream came from behind him, revealing it to be one of the girls of his colony charging at me with a knife poised to stab me.

With just a thought, my floating arm snatched her up by her ankles, dangling her upside down in the air before squeezing my floating fist, hard.

The loud crack coming from her ankles and feet being broken filled the room before I let her drop onto the ground.

She screamed and clutched at her broken legs, her knife clattering away from her.

It was all just white noise to me as I used my floating arm to pick up the knife and stabbed it into her hand, piercing it through her palm before pulling it out.

I then brought the knife over to me, allowing me to hold it with my real hand as I turned back to Ach.

Only now did I realise that he had been trying to punch at me with his fist and he was shouting something but I wasn’t really able to hear what he was saying because of all the white noise that was drowning him out.

I at least could tell that he seemed quite distraught and was even tearing up which I think was because that girl might have been someone he was close to.

I looked down at my new knife and coated the blade with energy from Jia Lian’s ability, making it incredibly sharp.

I then very casually sliced the blade at the shoulder of his right arm, slicing his limb clean off without much effort.

His entire arm dropped to the ground with a soft thud, the guy screaming out in pain as blood spurted out from his shoulder where his limb used to be.

I didn’t want him to die yet so I just went ahead to burn his shoulder, cauterising the wound.

I then moved to his other arm and sliced it off as well, repeating the same thing where I burn his shoulder to a stump so he won’t bleed out.

Seeing that I was done making sure he wouldn’t die of blood loss, I hoisted him up and stabbed the knife into the shoulder and let the blade penetrate into the wall behind him before stepping back.

He was now dangling on the wall with only the blade holding him in place, unable to pull himself free since... Well... He didn’t have the hands for it anymore.

I know there were more people in this colony so I stepped over the girl that was still crying out in pain on the ground to head deeper into the bunker.

Sure enough, I was met with laser fire a few steps in, though my shield blocked them before it could hit me.

I simply let my floating arms move forward ahead of me, their lasers not even able to scratch them as they fired at them.

Everyone I came across, I smacked them with my hands and broke their arms and legs to make sure they couldn’t fight back.

I did a complete sweep of the place and rounded up another eight people whom I went ahead to drag them back to the entrance of the bunker.

The girl was trying to crawl up to the Ach to try and free him, but she could not get to him since her legs were broken and couldn’t stand.

The other guy was fumbling with his gun which he could no longer hold since both his hands were unusable.

I ignored all of them and dumped the survivors in a pile on the ground before going over to grab the girl by her neck to pull her away from Ach.

I then opened up another teleportation door which seemed to surprise them since they’ve never seen me do this before.

I then opened the door, showing the other side of the door to be the front of the wall of the colony we found in the mall.

As expected, there were people manning it now and they raised their weapons the moment they saw the door open so I went ahead to lift up the girl in front of me.

She ended up getting riddled by the lasers, the beams burning holes through her body until it broke apart in my grasp.

I then closed the door and turned to Ach, tossing the severed head of the girl at him before shrugging.

"Looks like you’re right, they were prepared for me. They’ll have to die too, I guess."

There is no more mercy from me for this World...
