Chapter 555: Chapter 304: Reunion

Thus, guided by Destiny, the second Law War erupted. The seven most powerful Old Gods of that era sealed the Great Lord within the Dreamland—a realm the Dream Master had created from the subconscious of humanity. Following Destiny’s decree, they awaited the prophesied eighth Old God who would completely reduce the Great Lord to a Taboo.

(PS: For readers who may have forgotten, here’s a recap of the Seven Old Gods: the Holy One (master of the First Law, Sacred Law, and the Second Law, Light Law), the Dream Master (master of the First Law, Dream [Dream Law]), the Mother Goddess of Suffering and Calamity (master of the First Law, Suffering), the Dragon God (Dragon Law and Emperor’s Law), the Traitor (Sin Law), the Cave Rhythm Snake (Snake Law and Fear Law), and the Lonely Silver-faced Goddess (Soul Law and Sleep Law)).

The Dragon God, one of the Seven Old Gods, became the most ancient Emperor of Dreamland. With the Dream Master’s permission, he led the Dragon Race to occupy Dreamland, naming the realm “Prole”—a word from the Celtic Language derived from his own name, Pulansantos.

But back then, Dreamland and the Outer Side were connected. There was no border between them until the Dragon God was assassinated, sparking the third Law War.

The final outcome was that five of the Seven Great Old Gods fell. The Dream Master, along with the defeated Elf Dwarves and Giants, completely separated Dreamland from the Outer Side.

The [Traitor], however, remained on the Outer Side. Relying on [Forgetfulness] and [Order], he established the nascent Inner Side to seal away the Law Star Dust left behind after the fall of the gods.

This is also why those on the Outer Side do not know of the Inner Side’s existence—and why they must never find out.

This is because [Forgetfulness] is the most fundamental Law that allows the Inner Side to exist. If the Outer Side were to learn of the Inner Side’s existence, [Forgetfulness] would be broken, and the Inner Side itself would begin to collapse.

The Golden Mage chose to tell the Baron all of these things—what could be called the secrets of the Inner Side—mainly because the task he was about to entrust to the Baron was closely related to them.

“The Great Lord’s Law Star Dust has begun to seep from Dreamland into the Outer and Inner Side. The mists that birth Demons and the Mad Dragons overcome with [Madness] are the clearest evidence.”

“What I need you to do is simple, Mr. Constantine. You have two options: accept or refuse. As a reward for the mission, I will gift you a portion of the Dream Master’s remains currently held by the London Tower.”

“Since you’re willing, then very good.” The Golden Mage said with a smile. “The mission is simple. First, I need you to sign up for the upcoming [Knight’s Contest] held by the Templar Order and win the championship. It’s that simple.”

“The Knight’s Contest?” The Baron felt like he had heard that name somewhere before.

“It’s where all the young Contract Knights and Faith Knights under the age of forty compete for the Holy Hall’s one-third of the Knight Law. Whoever is acknowledged by the Law will earn the qualification to become Gold.”

Another hoarse voice spoke up from the side. The Baron looked over and saw a Wizard whose face was obscured by a hood, their features hidden.

Seeing the Baron looking at them, the Wizard friendly extended a hand. “Hello, Dragon Rider. I’m a Golden Mage of the London Tower… Ouch! Teacher, why did you hit my head?”

The hood naturally slipped off, revealing strands of golden hair, a white ribbon, and red eyes. Their skin was snow-white and almost translucent, to the point that the faint blue of their veins was visible. But the most striking feature wasn’t the blood-red eyes, but the two small fangs protruding from their lips—noticeably longer than a normal person’s—and the equally snow-white beast ears on their head.

‘Blood Race…’ The Baron identified the newcomer’s identity with a single glance.

Moreover, they were a member of the Blood Race whose appearance was shockingly similar to the Vivian he had met at the auction.

The only difference was that the young female Wizard before him had no wings on her back, so she couldn’t be called an Angel.

“Selena,” the Golden Mage said leisurely. “Weren’t you punished to copy the *Jade Record* a thousand times? Are you already finished?”

The young girl named Selena seemed embarrassed, tapping her toes on the ground. “Teacher, did you really say that…? I remember when you punished me for trying to find Baron Constantin’s human weaknesses, it was to copy *Ritual Summoning Cost* one hundred times.”

‘What does she mean, “find my human weaknesses”?’

The Baron’s brow twitched. He gave the scowling Golden Mage an odd look, then decided it was best to pretend he hadn’t heard. He took a sip of his tea. ‘Still,’ he thought, ‘Assam is better.’

The Golden Mage shooed the girl named Selena away. As she left, she skipped and hopped, like an elementary school student rushing home from school to catch a few extra minutes of TV.

On her way out, she even made a face at Baron Constantin.

The Baron froze.

It wasn’t because Selena had made a face at him, but because Selena had just sent him a telepathic message with her Spiritual Power:

“You have Vivian’s scent on you.”

It seemed the Baron’s guess was right: this young girl, who appeared to be of the Blood Race, indeed had some connection to the Blood Race girl, Vivian.

“Mr. Constantine, I have some unfortunate news to share with you.”

Seeing the Baron still staring in the direction Selena had left, the Golden Mage cleared his throat and said, “Selena is a boy.”

“PFFT—”

He almost did an embarrassing spit-take with the black tea he was holding in his mouth.

“A b-boy?” He hadn’t noticed a single masculine feature on Selena; after all, even his name was so feminine.

The Golden Mage chuckled. “As incredible as it sounds, Selena is indeed a boy… As a Blood Demon Hunter, you of all people should be able to clearly see Selena’s true identity, no?”

‘I only saw that she’s Blood Race, I didn’t see that she has any class.’ Baron was still complaining in his head.
