Even in this cold weather, being held in his arms made it not feel cold at all.

The rain fell on the black umbrella, making a splattering sound.

Fortunately, there was this sound; otherwise, Bella Acker was really worried that her heartbeat could be heard.

The two stood like this in the rain for quite a while. Bella Acker was wearing heeled ankle boots today, and standing for a period made her feet a bit tired, so she shifted them.

"Tired?" Damian asked.

"I’m not as amazing as President Sinclair." Bella Acker stretched out the handle of the umbrella she was holding, "Could I trouble President Sinclair to hold the umbrella?"

Damian complied, taking the umbrella from her hand, "The car is over there, why don’t you go and sit inside?"

Bella Acker bent over and pinched her leg, saying, "It’s because of me that the old man punished you like this. If I leave, you might really end up standing here all night."

"I can stand." Damian said.

"I know you can stand, but my conscience can’t take it." Bella Acker rolled her eyes, "If the cause of all this wasn’t because of me, I wouldn’t care how long you stand out here."

"You wouldn’t." Damian chuckled, "Even if it wasn’t because of you, you know I’d be standing outside the gate waiting for the old man’s forgiveness, you’d definitely come out."

Bella Acker paused her hand at her calf, then scoffed, "President Sinclair, sometimes being overly confident is just being narcissistic; you taught me that."

Damian looked at her with laughter in his eyes but didn’t bicker back.

Bella Acker felt like his gaze was seeing through her, a bit annoyed-ashamed, and said, "What are you staring at? President Sinclair, such a worldly-wise person, hasn’t seen a beauty?"

"I don’t know."

Bella Acker was taken aback, "Don’t know what?"

"Don’t know if others are beautiful or not. Anyway, in my eyes, besides you, others are just the difference between men and women, nothing else." Damian spoke earnestly, not like he was uttering some sweet talk.

Yet, Bella Acker’s ears felt hot listening to it, and she thought silently, this jerk of a man never said any sweet words when they were together before, why is it now that he opens his mouth and it’s already there?

Could chasing a woman involve self-learning and improvement?

To cover up her thumping heart, Bella Acker sniffed coldly, "President Sinclair, didn’t expect you to be quite good at making girls happy. Honestly, have you chased many girls over the years?"

She was merely joking initially, but after the words spilled out, she secretly anticipated his response.

Has his heart also been blank for these five years?

Could it be that he actually had other girlfriends, and just happened to be single when she returned home?

Bella Acker’s mind started wandering.

"No." Damian replied, "I bought a book called ’The Complete Guide to Winning a Wife,’ read through it, and felt some lines were quite believable."

"You actually bought such a book? And read it?" Bella Acker couldn’t believe it, her eyes widened, as if she almost didn’t recognize the man before her.

Is this still the Damian Sinclair she knew?

"Yeah, Talia recommended it to me. She said you would like listening to sweet words." Damian had no qualms about selling out his own daughter.

Bella Acker face-palmed, "Then you said some parts were believable, what about the rest?"

"They make no sense at all, clearly trickery, only idiots would believe them."
