Chapter 818: Chapter 817: Standing Up for My Granddaughter-in-law (3)

Not just Bella, even the old man feels heartbroken hearing the little girl cry so sadly.

Bella softened her voice, "Talia, don’t cry. Daddy will bring you back now. Mommy is waiting for you." ℴ

"Okay," the little girl responded.

Damian Sinclair said, "I’ll drive her over to you right now. I’ll hang up first."

After hanging up the phone, the little girl rushed over and hugged Damian Sinclair’s neck.

"Daddy, later don’t tell mommy that I cried, okay?" The little girl rubbed her tender little face against Damian Sinclair’s face, smiling and showing no sign of her earlier tears on the phone.

"Little trickster." Damian’s eyes showed a smile, gently pinching her nose, he said, "Once Daddy brings Mommy back home, you’ll be the biggest hero. Whatever you want, Daddy will buy it for you."

"I don’t want anything." The little girl shook her head while holding onto his neck, "Daddy just needs to be good to Mommy. Mommy is so pitiful all alone."

"That’s for sure. And how about you? Is there nothing you want?" Damian asked.

The little girl used her fair little finger to tap her chin, thinking seriously for a moment, then still shook her head, "There’s nothing I want now; I’ll tell Daddy when I think of something later."

"Alright, you tell Daddy when you think of something." Damian kissed her forehead with a smile, and said, "Let’s head out now." Saying this, he picked up the little girl.

"Yeah! I can see Mommy and also Grandpa; that’s great, hehe." The little girl clapped happily, and the two of them grabbed their things and left.

After hanging up the phone, Bella felt terribly guilty thinking about how sad the little girl sounded crying on the phone.

"It’s all my fault; I shouldn’t have been so harsh on her." Bella held her forehead with her hand, lamenting, "She’s never been scolded by me like that, she must be feeling awful."

"Young Acker, don’t blame yourself anymore. After all, it’s all that rascal’s fault. When he comes back, I’ll show him what’s what." The old man gently comforted her.

Bella shook her head, "It’s not President Sinclair’s fault."

"Then let’s not talk about him." The old man glanced at the table full of dishes, thinking she probably didn’t have the appetite to eat, he waved for the servants to take away the food, and said, "Young Acker, let’s go wait in the living room."

"Old man, you haven’t really eaten anything yet," Bella looked up and said.

"When you get old, you don’t really have an appetite," the old man chuckled, "Look at the darkening sky, it seems like rain is coming. Let’s go to the living room and wait."

"Sir, it’s already raining; the weather forecast says it’ll turn to snow tonight. Perhaps we might see the first snow of this winter," the butler said as he stepped forward to push the wheelchair, smiling.

"Really? That’s just perfect," the old man said, chuckling.

Bella followed by his side, not understanding the meaning behind his words.

Back in the living room, the servants had already prepared two cups of tea and some after-meal fruits.

Seeing Bella still seeming a bit restless, the old man smiled and said, "Young Acker, would you like to hear the story of me and your grandmother?"

"Sure," Bella replied, nodding.

The old man turned to the butler and said, "Go to my room and bring down the photo album."

"Yes, sir," the butler went upstairs, and shortly after, he returned carrying a thick photo album.

The old man took the album and handed it directly to Bella, smiling, "Open it and take a look."
