Chapter 1347: Chapter 576: Ingrid of Norsca (2)

Large groups of armies directly entered Margaret.

"President Amancio has already arranged a banquet at the Eastern Palace, but it’s still early. Please lodge at the Margaret State Guesthouse with the company commanders," Hadrian walked ahead, leading Fugen and his officers, "Please take a short rest, or if you prefer, feel free to explore, just don’t miss the time for the banquet."

"Got it." Fugen and the others arrived at the front desk, and began checking in with Hadrian.

Handling the check-in for a dozen officers, Fugen, Hadrian, and others was a very beautiful female attendant. Her brown eyes exuded wildness and passion, her dark brown hair cascading down her shoulders, and her slender black eyebrows seemed to speak. Summer had arrived, and her attire was relatively open, a simple white short-sleeve shirt and black knee-length skirt revealed her firm long legs. She smiled sweetly at Fugen and others, especially at the impossibly handsome Fugen, and her eyes sparkled with little stars: "Hello! The famous Legion Commander Fugen of the Ash Legion, hello, President Hadrian, and everyone from the Ash Legion. It’s an honor to have you stay at the Margaret State Guesthouse."

After speaking, the attendant threw a wink at Fugen and Hadrian, but Fugen’s expression remained unchanged. Instead, he glanced back at the female barbarian warrior, thinking that the attendant resembled her quite a bit.

President Hadrian of the Luigi Commerce Association simply nodded and smiled at Fugen: "When Laine came to Margaret, he stayed here. So knowing that you, the Legion Commander, would return to the Old World and land in Margaret, I immediately booked rooms here, hoping you’d like it."

"Laine stayed here?" Fugen mused, a peculiar smile on his face, "Walking along Margaret’s streets, I heard many people discussing how he reclaimed Musillon."

Upon hearing Laine’s name, the attendant’s face shifted slightly, and she bowed her head: "Everyone, please follow me."

"Indeed?" As the crowd followed the attendant into the guesthouse, Hadrian laughed: "Those were truly a series of spectacular battles, including the Flash Peak Palace raid, the Landuin Tomb counterattack, the Kulona rescue, the Champion duel decapitation of Mathew Bade, and lastly, Lord Laine’s childhood companion, Alfred the Temple Knight, single-handedly used torches to blow up Musillon’s city walls and took Musillon – these grand deeds have spread throughout the Old World, with many minstrels and playwrights hastily compiling stories, the heroes’ feats are being sung far and wide!"

"Hehehe~ The little one has grown up." Thinking about his own series of tough battles in Lustria, Fugen spoke with some relief: "Alfred? I’ve met him; he’s Laine’s childhood companion, a Temple Knight."

"Yes, Lord Laine granted him the entire Freya Ancient Church District and surrounding two hundred hectares of land, along with two thousand Gold Crowns," Hadrian replied with a friendly smile: "The future head of another church district, and it’s said the Justice Church is preparing to promote him to Temple Knight Commander."

The wealthy merchant knew well about Fugen’s strength, in the Old World, dealing with a Barbarian Chaos Champion required significant costs from ordinary people.

But in Fugen’s hands, it became a matter of "what’s the big deal after slaying a Chaos Champion?" Even the terrifying Chaos Great Demon from Subspace was something Fugen could talk and laugh with, usually resolved in thirty to fifty rounds.

Joking along the way, no one noticed the attendant’s face growing unpleasant.

"What about you? You’re from Nord?" When finally opening the door to the grand suites, Fugen had a chance to converse with the female Barbarian warrior: "Why come to Margaret? Norsca person, what’s your name?"

"I’m Ingrid." The female Barbarian glanced at her outfit somewhat awkwardly. She stood tall and strong, wearing mostly animal skins and simple cloth, her boots mud-stained, feeling uneasy in this luxurious setting. The female Barbarian now somewhat regretted coming along: "I’m from Nord."

"From Nord, why come to Margaret? You could go to Marinburg, or Middenheim, or if unwilling, Brittania," Hadrian asked, still puzzled.

"Without a recommendation letter, Marinburg doesn’t welcome Norsca people, and Brittania was previously at war; Boldro entered temporary alert status, also not welcoming a Norsca person like me. So, I thought I’d head south to see if there’s a chance in Margaret..." The female Barbarian started speaking, initially hesitant, but as she got going, her true nature emerged: "Anyway, I won’t believe it! A Warrior with axes and short blades able to solo a bear, can’t find work, missions? Or is it because I’m a woman? Why can men be mercenaries, fighting and getting rich, earning noble titles, and women not? Let me tell you, it’s time to overturn such prejudices! I’ve single-handedly slain eight Barbarian Raiders!"

"Then you should head to Tiriel!" Hadrian still wondered.

"I’m out of money! Can’t reach Tiriel!" The female Barbarian named Ingrid was quite straightforward: "Can only disembark in Estalia first and find a way to Tiriel!"
