Chapter 1346: Chapter 576: Ingrid of Norsca

"Does this kind of thing often happen at the dock?" When Lord Fugen saw the expression on Hadrian’s face, he knew that such occurrences were common at the dock. He connected the dots and quickly reached a conclusion: "Looks like it’s the same everywhere in this world, people enjoy bullying outsiders?"

"Hahaha~" Hadrian’s face bore a standard commercial smile as he pointed at Fugen, jesting, "My dear Legion Commander, look at yourself, do you look like a local? Why haven’t they come to bother you?"

Fugen immediately understood, shaking his head to dismiss the subject: "I recall Lady Kislev is at the far northern end of the Continent, on the frontline of the constant tug-of-war with Chaos. Why are there so many Kislevites here? Are they out seeking a living?"

"Indeed, in Kislev, apart from the very few lands reinforced by Ice Witch Magic that can produce food, the vast majority is permanent permafrost. The people there mostly rely on fishing, hunting, and trade with the south to survive," Hadrian, dressed in a luxurious silk gown, was adorned with jewelry of evident greater opulence than Fugen’s, though the high-class silk attire on him carried a strange sense of discord and ridicule.

Much like Oliver, Hadrian has become one of the super-rich merchants in the Old World. The Hadrian Commerce Association now has branches all over the Old World. As the appointed merchant by Laine for Fugen, Hadrian holds a tremendous amount of wealth, and has hired a retired Knight Commander from the Empire and a Legendary Tomb Raider from the Border Prince’s Domain, totaling two Legendary Tier powerhouses to ensure his safety.

As for another merchant, Oliver, he is even more formidable. During trade with the Wood Elves, due to Oliver’s exceptional commercial abilities, the satisfied Wood Elves specially dispatched two Elusive Wanderers to serve as his bodyguards, fearing his death lest a successor lacks Oliver’s caliber, thus failing to acquire the goods they seek.

"In truth, not every Kislevite always possesses the courage and determination to sacrifice everything against Chaos," Hadrian continued, "The environment in Kislev dictates enduring the Chaos Corruption year-round, thus the Tsarist Royal Family has a secret organization called the Internal Affairs Committee, responsible for handling those corrupted by Chaos, as well as those opposing the Tsar Family’s rule. These individuals possess the highest authority in interpreting Kislev’s laws, and those taken by them rarely return alive."

"Certainly, we cannot hope that Cadia will forever remain uneventful," Fugen remarked with a rather sarcastic curl of his lips, "Continue, Hadrian, please continue."

"Many Kislevites, faced with hunger and cold as well as oppression, choose to leave their homeland to seek opportunities in other parts of the Old World. These Kislevites have formed several syndicates in many parts of the Old World, banding together to make a living," Hadrian lifted his head, pointing to a few individuals confronting each other at the dock, "Yet, it’s apparent these Kislevites are merely a bunch of blustering but timid people, a group living on the dock, looking both like workers and mercenaries, a gang that dares to act publicly on the dock. But watch, Lord Fugen, no matter what harsh words they spit, they don’t dare act directly."

Sure enough, the barbarian woman was muscular, with two short knives on her waist and a crossbow strapped to her back. She held a two-handed axe in her hands, clearly not someone easy to deal with. Seeing her refusal to be threatened, the Kislevites’ attitude softened. The guild leader, Gu Huixiangnov, opened his mouth to continue spewing harsh words, but witnessing the barbarian woman’s arrogant and unyielding stance, the Kislevites stepped back, hands reaching for their waist guns, although merely resting on the fire cannon’s grip: "I warn you, Norsca, in Margaret, there’s nothing but bad juice for you..."

"Pedro, go over and bring that barbarian woman here, say she’s with us," Fugen suddenly showed interest, signaling the Company Commander of the Ash Legion to bring her over.

"Yes!" Pedro gave a standard military salute, clapped his hands, and ten Great Swordsmen from the Ash Legion immediately halted their activities, following him towards the dock: "This Lady! Our Legion Commander requests your presence!"

The Great Swordsmen from the Ash Legion formed a line, exuding an awe-inspiring aura. These soldiers, who followed Fugen, had fought against Green Skin, annihilated Barbarians, slaughtered the entire Skogji Tribe, and even contended with Chaos Demons and Skaven Ratmen. Their formidable air from surviving countless battles instilled some fear in both the barbarian woman and the Kislevites.

Gu Huixiangnov quickly realized that these people weren’t to be trifled with. The Kislevites nervously eyed the line of Great Swordsmen, unable to utter a harsh syllable despite opening their mouths for quite some time, merely watching the barbarian woman being escorted away. Before leaving, the barbarian woman sneered, "Who can you kill in three days? Kislevite? Don’t you have any idea?"

This time, it was Gu Huixiangnov who turned red with anger, unable to retort.

Witnessing the barbarian woman not hesitating to follow the Great Swordsmen, Fugen thought she wasn’t too foolish after all. The Legion Commander of the Ash Legion and Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons didn’t exchange words with the barbarian woman; he merely turned and left. After a brief moment of hesitation, the barbarian woman glanced at the Kislevites and chose to promptly follow.
