Chapter 1276: Chapter 547: The Bearer of Legacy’s Will (Part 2)

"Landuin truly lives up to being a genuine martial enthusiast." Francois’ face was filled with admiration, his eyes moist: "This is a legacy battle."

"Legacy battle?" Bohemond thought for a moment, then nodded immediately: "Indeed, it is a legacy battle. Landuin hopes to pass his combat experience on to Laine through this duel."

"It’s more than just that." Francois suddenly smiled, his old-blue eyes rotating a circle, as he gently stroked his goatee: "Bohe, think about it, do Laine and Landuin bear any deep-seated hatred?"

"Surely not." Bohemond immediately said: "These two are separated by a millennium."

"Then Landuin doesn’t want Laine to become Duke of Musillon?" Francois smiled at the corner of his mouth.

"That’s also impossible, the title of Duke of Musillon was abolished nearly three hundred years ago." Bohemond continued to shake his head: "Laine is the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady, he has both the strength and the qualification, none of us opposed Laine becoming Duke of Musillon, and Landuin certainly won’t either."

"Then why must Landuin insist on a champion duel with Laine?" Francois’ face bore thick admiration and a gentle smile: "Musillon has already been occupied by the Undead, while the Chaos Demon Army battles nearby, yet Landuin, as the First Duke of Mushiron, after being called back to the mortal world, neither eliminates the Undead occupying his castle nor fights against Chaos battling above the marshes, insists on conducting this champion duel with Laine, what is the significance? Why not use strength against exterior enemies?"

"Hmm!" Bohemond was enlightened, after careful thought, Red Dragon Duke realized it was indeed so.

Why does Landuin insist on this champion duel with Laine while ignoring the nearby Chaos and Undead?

Bohemond pondered this question for several minutes without an answer, so he had to signal Francois to continue speaking with his gaze.

"It can only be said that His Excellency Landuin truly remains His Excellency Landuin, he is truly a paragon of the Knightly Path, indeed a pure martial artist, and undeniably the strongest among the initial Holy Grail Knights!" Francois said slowly: "Let us witness all of this! All begins with Landuin, and it shall also end with him."

Under the clear moonlight, the battle between Laine and Landuin continued, the arm bearing the Unbreakable Lake Light remained strong, and under the moonlight’s shine, Landuin displayed all his strength, smiling, allowing all to witness this epic champion duel.

But now, this duel was nearing its end, Landuin could feel his strength gradually slipping away, the Goddess of Revenge inflicted multiple wounds upon him, and at each scar, Laine’s Spiritual Fire burned Landuin’s soul, harming his body.

Even with the help of the Lake Fairy, Landuin’s Heroic Spirit returned to the mortal world, yet he remains dead, having died nearly a millennium ago, burning all he had to return to peak form among humans, but unlike Laine, Laine is living, as a living person he possesses a formidable recovery ability and inexhaustible stamina, whereas Landuin is dead, his strength will gradually deplete until he returns to the Divine Kingdom of the Lake Fairy, or perhaps...

The declining strength could no longer suppress Laine’s fierce assault, sensing Laine’s growing strength, Landuin opened his throat and roared, unwilling to die as he forcefully competes with the Goddess of Revenge five times in quick succession, then the Lake Knight leaps high, wielding the Unbreakable Lake Light to carve a semicircle in the sky.

Moonlight streamed around Landuin, gradually coalescing into a giant light column over ten meters long and nearly one meter wide.

"Reach the end, transcend the limits. Bear witness to this light!"

"Overweight Lake Light!"

Landuin swung the light column downward toward Laine, the terrifying power within was enough to change the colors of the heavens and shake the mortal world, where the light column passed, even the air was scorched clean.

Laine chose to confront this light column head-on, mobilizing Spiritual Energy throughout his body, at this moment, the faces of the Emperor and teachings of the Master of Humans surfaced in his mind.

Around the Grey Knight Primarch gathered unimaginable vast Spiritual Energy, violent Light of Spiritual Power erupted from within, scorching hot enough to envelop Laine’s hair and body with Spiritual Fire.

That was the power that subdued all things and devoured everything.

Such might followed the blade of the Goddess of Revenge, surging forth from Laine’s sword.

Landuin’s most powerful combat skill was thus blocked by Laine.

"What?" This time, the Lake Knight felt astonishment.

Laine exerted full control over his power, he deflected the light column downward, following Landuin’s original trajectory, the Goddess of Revenge and Unbreakable Lake Light clashed in mid-air, the power of life and death revealed before Laine, the Goddess of Revenge drew a circle, pushing back Landuin’s light column and his Cavalry Lance, the moonlight power of slaughter instead surged into Landuin’s body, along with a deafening roar, the moonlight swallowed Landuin’s body.

A wave of dazzling white-hot lightning shot out, cutting through the air, inflicting heavy damage on Landuin again, the Lake Knight’s entire body was scorched pitch black, this time, screams erupted from the Lake Knight’s mouth, surrounded by fire and lightning.
