Chapter 433: Now Draw the rest of the Spell

With quite a lot of help from Raev, Belladonna laid down a teleportation circle arrival point. It was something she had studied, as it naturally came along with the knowledge used to use and edit teleportation scrolls.

It was just much more complex and took a lot of the right materials to create, many of which thankfully came from Raev.

After the third necessary item he added, Belladonna brought up an offer of repaying him somehow, but the Avatar simply shrugged it off.

"Just make this trip entertaining." He had said, as if that was in any way a valid repayment for the various expensive magical materials he was dealing out. But he refused to take anything else and so Belladonna eventually relented.

It was no wonder that Sylvi had taken this man as her Avatar. Even if he was a bit airheaded and was high 99.9% of the time, he had the same whimsical and fun loving nature that Belladonna had felt from her in her domain.

A Goddess of Trickery and Travel, who simply wanted to wander around, find entertaining things or make entertaining situations for herself when they did not exist for her to stumble across. Really, a wandering stoner suited that pretty damned well.

Belladonna focused deeply, doing her best to understand everything that Raev was teaching her, even as he was expertly guiding her hand to paint the runes on the stone. The more she understood, the more she could fill her mental library.

When a new pile of information had formed in that Library, Belladonna made the final pen stroke and looked to Raev for confirmation.

"Looking good Spooky dude. Hey... That kinda rhymed. I guess I’m a poet and I had no idea." He laughed to himself, as he refreshed his lungs with the good stuff before puffing it out.

"Alright... If everything is settled, I will send Revenant the code and-" Belladonna started to say, before Raev coughed and stumbled forwards.

"Wait! One more thing, I almost forgot." He chuckled, pulling out a perfectly carved, blue diamond the size of a particularly fat field mouse, and placed it in the very centre of the circle. Although the circle was painted on the stone of the city’s wall, it stood perfectly upright on the small point it had on its base.

It almost looked like a rich kids version of spinning top, even though it wasn’t actually spinning.

"Okay, Now go." Raev smiled, backing up as he gave Belladonna two thumbs up and a wide, half baked and goofy smile.

Belladonna glanced over her shoulder nervously at Figg, who gave her the same thumbs up and a less enthused smile, as he slowly took a few steps back, which didn’t fill her with any more confidence.

Taking a deep breath, she infused mana into the circle, causing it to light up, and tapped a few of the runes painted close to the centre of the circle, before sending those same runes to Revenant in a message.

There was a few seconds of silence before lightning crackled across the painted lines. The crackling lightning drew a ring around the outside, before rushing into the crystal in the middle which burst with a blinding blue light.

Belladonna clenched her eyes closed, waiting for the explosion of magical backlash to hit her right in the face, but instead all she heard was the miserable, disappointed voice of their favourite necromancer.

"This is the spot you chose? It’s a little out in the open for an express entrance, don’t you think?" Revenant scoffed, glancing around him with a deep scowl.

"What’s wrong with it? We were only going to use it once-"

"Yeah, once before we moved it. Spooky came prepared, you know." Raev quickly finished, cutting Belladonna off as she looked at him in utter confusion.

Prepared? Prepared for what? When was she supposed to have done that?

As if he could read her mind, which was entirely possible considering some of the mages she had met, Raev just gave her a casual wink before stepping forwards.

He ushered Revenant out of the way, letting the Necromancer glower at him from a position that wasn’t in the way, before he plucked the blue diamond off of the ground. As he did so, the entire painted circle disappeared.

Every painstaking brushstroke was slurped into the crystal, which held it in a singular glob like blood frozen in resin.

"Where the hell did you get a Perma-Spell Gem? Even I haven’t been able to get one yet, and I know where to look?" He asked incredulously, as Raev casually tossed Belladonna the diamond.

She caught it and glanced at it nervously, before shrugging and giving Revenant a cocky smirk.

"I guess I’m just luckier than you, plus I’ve made some nice new friends."

"Uh huh..." Revenant muttered, before clicking his tongue and sighing. He turned his glare back to Raev, who smiled and took a short drag of his joint.

"And who exactly are you?"

"Greetings my good dude, I am Raev. A humble follower of the ways of Sylvi. Chilling, Having fun and seeing this beautiful world is what it’s all about, am I right?"

Revenant simply deepened his glower, before striding to the edge of the wall and crouching down to brood like some dark superhero.

"I suppose you can stay, it will be good to have a healer for what we are about to do."

"Much abliged my good man!" Raev simply laughed cheerfully, all of the dark and miserable energy that Revenant was exuded simply washed over his carefree mind.

"You know, I am here too." Figg muttered sadly, as everyone looked past him. He might not have been as good as a cleric, but he could still heal. Some parties even had druids that were full time sub-healers and crowd control. That should have counted for something, right?

Beans hopped onto Figgs head, resting his head on one of the prongs of Figg’s antlers, and let his fluffy tail brush against Figgs face as a consolation prize.

"This is the part where you tell us why you are so excited about this place. Is it a relic?" Belladonna asked, as she put the Diamond away in her shadow safely.

"Maybe, I don’t know. There might be. But even if there is, that’s not what I am excited for. We’re not going to be getting something that is in the city, we’re going to take over the entire city itself." Revenant said, glancing over his shoulder with a wide, creepy smile.

"For a while now, they have allowed players to buy homes, for things like Guild houses. But that’s only a fraction of it. We can’t just buy houses, but entire cities. Although to do that would be stupidly expensive and not worth it.

Unless of course, we take over one that is already in ruins."

"Why, pray tell, would we want to do that?" Belladonna asked, planting her hands on her hips. She had to admit, it did sound like an enticing idea, but with this guy there was definitely more to it than just running a city, and if he wanted to take over somewhere then he could have just taken over the small town that they had found the Undead in.

No, there had to be something special about this particular city.

"You see, the upcoming competition has this little Siege event. Guilds without a Guild house will attack those who do. If they own a castle, for example, the entire castle becomes the place they will siege.

So if we own the city..."

"They had to siege the entire city. I get it, and I’m guessing that works in our favour?"

"Correct. The longer the defenders hold out, the better the prize, and if they are undefeated, then they win extra big. I was planning on just being the attackers, and destroying that Golden Prick. But the prizes are better for defenders, and I want them.

The last time, this city was eventually discovered by a guild known as Dread, but they never got a chance to use it in the competition as it happened long after.

They eventually turned this place into a player city, charging taxes for things and gathering crafting players and so forth. That could still benefit us, but there’s no harm in showing off first."

"That is true... But why do I have a feeling that there is something else you are hiding?"

Revenant chuckled dryly, and simply shrugged his shoulders.

"You got me. There is supposedly something amazing in the city’s treasury."

"Supposedly? You mean that you don’t know what it is?"

"Nope. Not a clue. Dread’s leader, Pirate, might be a complete and utter moronic tool that loves to brag about everything. But this is the one thing he kept to himself. Whatever it was, they kept it hidden, and no one ever managed to steal it from them."

Belladonna laughed and shook her head at his shamelessness. She had to admit, with a mystery like that it was impossible to resist.

"Alright then Rot boy, you got me. So, you’re the man with the plan. How are we going to take over an entire city in less than a day?"

"By using an army." Revenant smirked wickedly
