VRMMO: World's First Glyphborne
Chapter 432: Draw a circle
Belladonna cackled lowly to herself as she considered her plan, which really didn’t help the ’I’m not evil’ look she had been wanting to go for after hearing the truth of her new race, but it was something she couldn’t help. It just came naturally to her, which probably wasn’t a good sign.
She didn’t have the time to consider that, or just didn’t want to, as she pulled out the Scrying Skull from her shadow. She barely used this thing, and sometimes forgot she even had it believe or not, but it was occasionally useful in situations like this.
She could only imagine what kind of ability she could get from one of these undead, if it was even possible in the first place. But even if it wasn’t, she had a back up.
After all, they had an Undead user in their guild, and an upcoming tournament that they were going to need all their power for. So why not see if the future boy had any need for the true Fell-spawn Undead that were lingering around here.
At the very least, she would be able to fleece him for a little more information and see by his reaction if she had stumbled across something good.
But before she could call Revenant, the skull started to chatter its teeth whilst its crystal eyes flashed softly in a rather grim ring tone.
When she answered, the image of the Undead master himself, Revenant, appeared before her as it was projected from the skulls eyes.
"That was quick. Were you waiting by the phone, just hoping I would call?" Revenant teased with a grizzly smirk that just looked creepy on his normally sullen face.
"First, Gross. Second, No. I was just about to call you actually."
"Hmm, Maybe I should have waited and spared myself the effort." He grumbled.
Belladonna scoffed and rolled her eyes, "What effort? You barely did anything. Ugh, What is it that you wanted?"
"The official invitations have been released for the Guild Wars, it’s in three days. So if you are up to anything important, finish it within the next 24 hours. We still need a day to prepare as a group, and then we need to fly out to the event."
"Fly out?" Belladonna scrunched up her face, "Ugh, it’s not going to be another party is it? I don’t think I can handle another one of those, especially because Lucy would be trying to get me to buy yet another dress for that one.
Why do you need multiple dresses anyways? Just wear the same one until it doesn’t fit anymore, it’s simple!"
"Are you sure you are even a woman?" Revenant chuckled, earning a withering and hateful glare from Belladonna in response.
"Seriously though," She asked with a sigh, "Why do we need to fly out? Can’t we do it remotely?"
"We can, but we won’t. This will also be a chance to re-establish our power levels. The professionals have already started to awaken their sources in the real world, it’s just lucky a lot of them chose more Human-adjacent races for optimisation. They might not have noticed many changes yet.
But other players are soon to follow, and when they realise what is going on there will be an even bigger push for power than before. Things are already chaotic enough with that incident you caused in the city, so when things kick off we need to ensure we are top of the ranks so they come grovelling to us for help and not just the high level guilds."
"I didn’t cause that incident." Belladonna muttered like a scolded teenager.
"Doesn’t matter. We need to go. Plus, it will be easier to collect all of our prizes when we crush the competition.
Besides, I’m surprised you would pass up the chance to see your little boyfriend again... Or to see the look on Lox’s face when you humiliate her in front of the world." He added with a smirk.
Belladonna’s ears perked up at that, and she had to admit that did sound fun. She could already imagine dragging that witch out in-front of the crowds and beating her to a miserable, bloody pulp. A cruel and sinister smile spread across Belladonna’s face as her fantasies dissolved into wonderful images of strangling the famed ’LusciousLox’ with her own undoubtedly fake hair.
"Alright fine, we will go. But since we are on a time crunch, I definitely need some information from you."
"I already told you the best grinding spots I know, there are no others left. If you are lacking in level, then it’s not my fault." He grumbled with a sigh.
Belladonna grit her teeth, suppressing the urge to strangle the skull that was speaking in Revenant’s miserable voice.
"That’s not what I mean, and for your information I am already level 100 and have my class skill. So there!
What I wanted to know is any good information about an city called Razz. It was invaded by Undead ages ago, and I think there is still some lingering around.
Is there any good loot I should be on the lookout for, or any particular powerful Undead you want to add to your collection?"
"Wait... You’re at Razz? The Elven City Razz?" Revenant asked, visibly perking up as his miserable eyes widened in surprise and a hint of genuine human emotion graced his monotonous voice.
"Yeah, is it special in some way? If there is something good here, Even if I can’t get the good stuff by the time the competition, I can still get it for you afterwards."
"No... No, we need to do this before the competition. It’s going to be tight... but there are a few plans I can readjust, this is more important than that." He started to mutter to himself, speaking so fast and furious that it took Belladonna a moment to process what he was saying.
"Wait, what do you mean ’we’? And why is it so important? Is there amazing loot here? Oh please tell me it’s another relic." Belladonna bounced excitedly. Her clone was useful in so many ways, and had such amazing growth potential.
If she could get another relic on the same level, or gods forbid even more powerful, she would be truly unstoppable and might even be able to rip Lox’s influence straight from Percy’s stupidly handsome head.
"Just draw me a teleportation circle and send me the arrival code, I’ll be there shortly." Revenant demanded, before he hung up and the Scrying Skulls eyes grew dim as the image disappeared.
"Arrival code? I... I don’t know how to draw one of those yet." Belladonna muttered to herself.
Beside her, Raev chuckled as he clapped his hand on her shoulder and squeezed it softly.
"Then isn’t it lucky for you that you know a really cool dude who is the Avatar of the Wandering Goddess? Come on, I’ll teach you how. Who was that dude anyways? I didn’t know you knew one of them."
