Chapter 132- Test Begins!
Rize checked his watch, and he saw that the new information had been sent to him. His name was in what seemed to be Class 2 B, and his seat was number 32. Rize nodded his head as he looked at Venera.
"What is your class?" He asked her. Deep down, he hoped that they would end up in the same class, but he knew that was going to be extremely hard.
"I’m in class 5C. What about you?" Venera asked as she looked at her friend with a slightly hopeful expression. Rize, however, pursed his lips as he showed her his class. Venera’s expression became a little disappointed before she sighed.
"Well, that would’ve been a bit too lucky for us to end up in the same class." She said. "Either way, that won’t change much. We still could see each other later."
"Yeah, I honestly don’t think we will stay the entire three days here. If we do the test well, we could get out of here before everyone else." Rize said as he looked around him. However, he didn’t forget that the people around him weren’t some random candidates.
These were the best of the best in the world. Just a simple glance at them told him that everyone there was very strong and a force to be reckoned with. Especially those at the very top, the top 100.
Rize knew that many of them could cause a big problem if he grew relaxed or let them do whatever they wanted. Especially Fate himself. Rize knew that the boy wasn’t going to sit quietly and not use every single manipulation method to get the best result out of this test and the second part of it.
’This time, however, he can’t really brute-force his way through. If he wanted that rank one spot, he has to ace the test, and we won’t let him do that easily.’ Rize mused as he looked at Venera.
"How do you plan to meet?"
"Well, depending on the test... But I think we ideally should meet 3 hours from now. Try to answer as many questions as possible, and if we get stuck on something, we can share ideas and find answers together." Venera said.
"3 hours, huh?" Rize said. "Yeah, that sounds good enough for me. If there are questions we could struggle with, then we definitely are going to be stuck here for a bit."
Since this test was going to be harder than the normal test the rest of the masses take, he didn’t eliminate the idea that something would truly make him feel clueless. After all, he was very knowledgeable, but he wasn’t all-knowing.
"Hey, take care of yourself, and if anything happens, come to me," Rize said as he looked at Venera with a smile.
"You too."
With that, Rize turned around and walked in the direction of his classroom. Taking the stairs up, he had to go to the third floor and then to Class 2 B. There were already a few candidates inside.
None of them were in the top 10, so Rize ignored them and walked to his seat. All of them stared at him curiously, especially the girls. His striking, handsome looks made him stand out wherever he went.
If anything, his looks seemed to only get better and better as he got stronger and his body was pushed toward perfection step by step. But due to the nature of the test they were about to take, no girl approached him... yet.
Rize sat down and looked at his table. It was quite big, with a drawer where he could put stuff in. The chair was very comfy and relaxing, and the room was pleasantly warm compared to the cold outside.
’Hmmm, if this is where I’m gonna spend hours writing, it doesn’t sound too bad.’ He thought to himself as he looked at the time on the clock above the board. There were a few minutes before the test started, and Candidates were slowly walking in.
Rize checked every face to see if any of them were particularly special. However, for a bit, no one he could recognize walked in.
Until...
A distinct red hair entered the room, and Rize’s eyes widened slightly. ’I spoke too soon. Is she really in the same class as me? That’s... interesting.’
Rose seemed to be his classmate, and even more than that, she walked directly toward him and sat next to him. She simply gave him a small glance before she stretched her limbs.
"Good luck." He whispered to her without looking to the side.
"You too." She replied.
With that, the rest of the class was filled with candidates as everyone took a seat. It was quiet except for some small whispers here and there. Then, as everyone was waiting, the door to the classroom slid open, and a woman walked in.
She was quite pleasant looking middle-aged woman with a strict look on her face and glasses hanging loosely off her nose. She stood before the class.
"Good morning, everyone. I am Melissa, your supervisor for the remainder of this test. As Mr Ereze told you earlier, this test will be three days, so you must keep in mind to manage your effort well. Doing too much within a short period of time will increase the risk of mistakes or lack of focus. Taking too long could also risk you not finishing the test." She said.
"..."
"Another thing. Since the test will be about every single subject, I shall be handing you all the subjects at the same time. They will be organized in stacks of 50 pages. You are free to choose the subject you want to start with or the method of work you want to follow. Is that understood?" She said as she looked around the class.
Nobody seemed confused about the instructions. So, the woman nodded her head and then snapped her fingers.
Suddenly, and out of nowhere, a huge mountain of papers manifested on every single table. Rize was taken aback by the huge pile as he looked up with wide eyes. It towered over him with ease and even loomed over him.
"You have got to be kidding me..."
"What is this?!"
"Oh, my god..."
"We need... to solve all of this?"
"A computer would take days to solve this, let alone us!"
The reactions were ones of shock, even stronger than Rize’s reaction.
"Quiet." She said coldly, sending a wave of energy across the room that made everyone stop talking. "The test will be starting in 30 seconds. Grab your pens and be ready. Talking is prohibited within the classroom. If you want to talk, go outside."
With that, Melissa pointed at the clock and crossed her arms. Rize rubbed the back of his head as he grabbed the pen, closed his eyes, and sucked in a deep breath. Then, he channeled all his Essence into his brain, boosting his thinking capabilities to the max.
He was ready, and he felt ready. Now, all he had to do was write everything down with perfection. To ace the test, he had to be perfect... No, even more than that. He had to completely destroy it.
The clock reached 0, and Melissa tapped her hand on the table.
"Begin!"
