Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!
Chapter 377 -: 376 Miasma has what?
Chapter 377: Chapter: 376 Miasma has what?
Miasma started flying toward the center of the Nightmare Forest, and Julius and Rosalina followed closely behind her, neither willing to lower their guard despite the fact that she had yet to display any hostility.
Julius kept one hand near his sword as his eyes continuously scanned their surroundings, but despite his caution, he had already made a decision to take a gamble on Miasma’s intentions.
His confidence did not come from trusting Miasma herself; rather, it came from Destiny. Julius knew that the goddess had something planned, and both he and Rosalina were clearly important pieces in whatever game she was playing.
More importantly, Destiny had no reason to kill him if that had truly been her intention.
She could have ended his life during that strange vision, yet she had deliberately allowed him to leave.
That alone was enough for Julius to believe that whatever was waiting for them at the heart of the Nightmare Forest was unlikely to be an ambush designed to kill them.
Besides, they didn’t exactly have many alternatives. Turning around would mean abandoning the very reason they had entered the forest in the first place, while confronting Miasma here, after both he and Rosalina had already exhausted a considerable portion of their strength against the Terror Mantis, would be even more foolish.
"So, may I ask something?" Julius finally said, breaking the silence. "How are you able to roam around the Nightmare Forest despite being a Zlycon?"
Miasma didn’t even turn around as she continued flying through the dark forest.
"I have the Rose Petal Eyes, remember?" she answered in a completely nonchalant tone. "My grandmother created this place, so even though I’m a Zlycon, I can enter the forest without getting sleepy or falling into a nightmare."
She paused for a moment before adding, "Although, there is one annoying condition. I have to keep my Rose Petal Eyes activated almost all the time, except when I’m sleeping in the altar."
"Altar?" Julius raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah. We’re heading there right now."
Miasma glanced over her shoulder for a brief moment, a faint smile appearing on her lips.
"My grandmother created it specifically for the two of you, so you should be grateful to her."
Julius’s expression became slightly strange.
"So, ahem... your father. How is he... doing?"
Julius and Rosalina blinked. For a moment, neither of them said anything.
Julius slowly exchanged a glance with Rosalina, his expression becoming increasingly suspicious. Why was Miasma asking about his father?
The last time those two had met, Miasma had received a beating so thorough that Julius could only pity her even though he didn’t see the beating.
Considering what had happened between them, there was absolutely no reason for her to suddenly take an interest in his father’s well-being.
"Why do you ask?" Julius narrowed his eyes.
Miasma’s shoulders stiffened slightly.
"Umm... nothing. I just wanted to ask about him."
She hesitated.
"I had some... debt to repay. That’s all. Nothing else."
Her voice became increasingly defensive as she continued.
"And don’t you dare misunderstand it as if I’m asking because I care about him or something."
Rosalina, who had been silently listening from the side, narrowed her eyes. Something about that wording felt strangely familiar.
She had heard those kinds of words before.
In fact, she had used them herself back when she had desperately tried to convince everyone that she didn’t care about Julius.
Rosalina slowly turned her attention toward Miasma’s face, studying her expression with increasing suspicion. Then she noticed it.
Miasma’s eyelashes were trembling.
Rosalina froze as her eyes widened. For perhaps the first time in her life, she looked genuinely stunned by what she had just realized.
She immediately accelerated until she was flying beside Julius, then leaned toward him and whispered as quietly as possible.
"It seems... it seems she has developed a crush on your father!"
"What?!"
Julius’s voice came out far louder than he intended. Miasma immediately turned her head while still flying.
"What?"
Julius’s expression stiffened.
"Nothing."
He forced an awkward smile and quickly turned his head away before Miasma could notice the sheer panic in his eyes.
Once she finally looked forward again, Julius immediately leaned toward Rosalina.
"What do you mean she has fallen for my old man?" he whispered furiously.
"Impossible! How can he—"
"I don’t know," Rosalina whispered back, shaking her head. "But I’m certain that woman has fallen for him. I know that look. She definitely has."
Julius stared at Miasma’s back in disbelief.
His mind struggled to process the absurdity of the situation.
Miasma? His father?
The same Miasma who had once attempted to take Rosalina’s body?
The same Miasma who had been beaten nearly senseless by his father?
How in the world had things developed into this?
Julius felt a headache beginning to form.
And beneath that headache came another emotion:
Anger.
He gritted his teeth as he stared at the back of his father’s future girlfriend—assuming things somehow became even more ridiculous than they already were.
"That womanizer..." Julius muttered under his breath. "I swear he deserves every bit of beating Mom gives him."
Rosalina glanced at him.
Julius’s expression became increasingly bitter as he continued thinking about the mess his family had somehow created.
It was already complicated enough because his aunt had fallen head over heels for his father.
Julius had been extremely reluctant to accept that situation at first, but he couldn’t exactly bring himself to reject his aunt’s feelings outright.
She had given him affection that was almost as deep as his mother’s, and considering that his aunt and mother looked practically identical, Julius could at least understand how his father had initially mistaken her for Elizabeth before kissing her.
As for the feelings that had developed afterward, those weren’t exactly something a person could simply command themselves to stop having.
Julius had therefore reluctantly accepted the situation, although he still hadn’t made his thoughts on the matter known to the rest of the family.
But now there was Miasma, another woman, another complication!
And this time, Julius couldn’t even understand how it had happened.
"Ahh..." Julius rubbed his forehead in frustration. "I swear, when I get back, I’m telling Mom everything!"
He made the promise with the seriousness of a man preparing to expose the greatest scandal in his family’s history.
Rosalina covered her mouth, barely suppressing a laugh.
"You shouldn’t look so surprised. Your father seems quite popular."
"That isn’t something to be proud of!"
Miasma suddenly spoke from ahead of them.
"We’re here."
