Chapter 45: The Sterling Family.

"Victoria Sterling"

The name hung heavy in the silence of the room.

The women gave no reaction to his words at all. Merely staring back at him.

Lucien took a step forward, then another and another until he stood right in front of her. Making the table the only thing standing between them. Just like before the women on the chair once again gave no reaction to his actions.

"Watch your mouth, Lucien. You are no more than a dog raised by the family. Your words should be laced with respect when you take her name. Use ’Miss’ or ’Madam’ before saying her name."

A heavy voice that did not belong to the women echoed in the room.

The voice belonged to the man sitting across the room, on a sofa.

He had strikingly similar features to the women on the table. From hairs, the eyes, the facial features and even in age.

The voice belonged to Victor Sterling. He was the brother of the woman sitting on the chair. Twin brother.

The man stood up and walked towards Lucien, his steps slow and deliberate.

Standing at 6 ’0 tall he was half head shorter than Lucien, who stood at 6’ 6.

"Have you already forgotten your promise?" He spoke. His index finger pointing and sinking into Lucien’s chest. A clear remark of disrespect towards Lucien.

"Leave it Victor." The women finally spoke. Her voice was laced with hypnotic magic.

"After all, we are here just to visit our little brother. Isn’t it Lucien?"

Yes, they were his elder siblings. To be exact his older step cousins.

Lucien was an adopted child to his family. He was an orphan from birth. His mother died while giving birth to him, with no information on his real father whatsoever.

Just like him, his adoptive parents couldn’t have a child for themselves. So they decided to adopt.

He was adopted by the Sterling family when he was 7 years old. But because of his inferior blood and background, the rest of the Sterling family refused to let him use the Sterling name.

The name Novctivar came from his adoptive mother’s surname. She was a single child and her parents were dead. So they decided to give him the Noctivar name.

But that was not enough for the Sterling family. They continuously belittled his parents and tortured him to almost death multiple times.

The biggest contributors to that were none other than Siblings standing in front of him.

Victor and Victoria Sterling. The twins and the golden child of the Sterling Family. But even in them Victor held more grudges.

His ego couldn’t take that someone without parents was equal to him in status. Leading to a very bad childhood for Lucien.

Lucien of course spared no efforts in taking revenge when he was capable enough.

He had eradicated the entirety of the Sterling family from the face of the earth. Leaving no more than 10 members from the former hundreds of individuals in the family.

He killed whoever he found was related to the family, even in just names. It didn’t matter, whether it was a man or a woman. Innocent or guilty, child or adult.

Dead. Every single one of them is dead.

Then, the question arises why the people standing in front of him belong to the same family, that he was so hell bent on killing. And to be more specific, why is Victor Sterling the biggest culprit behind the incident alive? And even more importantly acting so smug with him?

Well, that’s because of the evidence they had on him.

The evidence behind his evil deeds. Not only the evidence that he had exterminated the entire Sterling family. But also his other dealings of the crime.

The murders he committed, his bribe to the officials and many more of his evil deeds.

As you must have guessed it, the culprit behind this was none other the protagonist himself. He had stealed information from Lucien’s office and colluded with the Sterling family to threaten him.

But it was revealed later on in the story that they had no real evidence behind his crimes. Only verbal information given to them by the protagonist.

After the supposed death of the protagonist in a plane crash, they had lost even that source of information. Relying totally on what was given to them by the protagonist during his stay with Lucien.

However, that didn’t stop them from using those same methods to extort from Lucien. The amount of wealth they had accumulated from him was more than what the entirety of the Sterling family had at their peak.

This led them to become so greedy, that they had completely forgotten his bloodthirsty nature.

However, that was not much in the eyes of Lucien. So he continued to comply with their will. This was of course due to plot, because even if they had hard concrete proof against him, it would not be enough to make even a scratch on him. But somehow the original Lucien became kind of sissy when dealing with them. Always agreeing to whatever demand they made to him.

The Sterling Family main business was raw materials import. They would import raw materials and then sell them at high prices in the country. Including Lucien’s company.

They even had Lucien help them become the sole supplier of specific items in the country. Giving them monopoly in the business.

However, that was not the worst part. The worst thing was that. Even after establishing their entire business solely based on Lucien, they would sell the worst things to his company at abnormally higher prices than the market. Making his company suffer continuous losses.

Then continue to supply the best of the materials to the rival companies of Noctivar group.

Adding more to their atrocities, for the last year, they had been constantly harassing him to sell one of his projects. Worth hundreds of billions for mere few hundred millions. Providing not even 1% of its real value.

And somehow, the original Lucien had ACTUALLY AGREED TO THEIR DEMANDS!!

But for the current Lucien this couldn’t be allowed anymore. He had immediately terminated the contract and taken back the project.

"How dare you take away our project from us? Did you think backing off at the last second would be enough to stop us? Today we will leave after you sign the papers of handing over the project to us. And for the punishment for wasting our time, you will be giving the project to us for FREE. We will not pay a single cent for it. And adding to that, we will triple the price of our materials that will be sold to your company from today onwards. " Victor spoke.

His eyes bulged in anger. He had always hated Lucien. Especially after the massacre of the Sterling family.

He couldn’t forget the night he had seen his family members butchered alive in front of him. How he begged and kowtowed in front of Lucien to be spared.

Lucien’s ice cold eyed staring at him. The blood of his family members dripped down in Lucien’s hands. The disgust and annoyance he had seen in Lucien’s eyes when he looked at him. The only reason he was spared that day was because Lucien wanted him to suffer mentally before killing him. Making him live in fear with the threat of death looming over him all the time.

He wanted revenge. He wanted to get back at Lucien. But he was too weak to do anything. Lucien at the time had already climbed far too high for him to do anything.

He couldn’t help but swallow his anger. Finally after years. He had found the opportunity. Somehow his elder sister had found some dirt on him.

Giving them a huge advantage over Lucien. He immediately wanted to get rid of him but Victoria had other plans. They both knew it was impossible to kill him. He was already far too high. So they came up with a different plan. To slowly take away his wealth and then kill him. That would also allow for their family to make a comeback.

Fortunately for them, it had indeed worked out. Lucien had started to accept their demands. Their family had risen beyond its glory. And continued to do so. But that was not enough for Victor. Since then he had once again continued to behave like his old self. Trampling over Lucien whatever chance he got. Today was no exception.

"Heh" Lucien gave a mere smirk to his words.

Victor’s eyes turned red in anger. His body moved before his thoughts could be formed. His hands tightened into a fist reaching for Lucien’s face.

However, before he could land a hit, an unbelievably powerful kick landed on his chest. Sending him flying across the room.

Multiple of his ribs had been fractured by the sheer power behind the kick. Blood dripped down his nose and mouth.

"Victor!"

Victoria shouted before running towards him. But before she could take two steps Lucien grabbed her by the hair and throwed her on the ground.

"Don’t worry. He is not dead. Well, at least not YET! And looking at his condition I don’t think he is going anywhere, NEITHER ARE YOU! Today, you will pay for all the crimes that you have committed.

HEHEHEH.... HAHAHAH..."
