"Haaaah.. Since it has come to this. I will tell you the truth. The truth I have been carrying all these years. The truth buried inside my chest. And the reason for our divorce!!"

"The truth? What do you mean by the truth?" Hannah questioned with confusion.

Lucien slowly got up from her and sat on the couch. Seeing him acting so serious Hannah got worried and also got up to seat behind him.

"Honey, what is it? Tell me! You can’t keep me suspense. What do you mean by the truth behind our divorce? Wasn’t it because we argued too much? Always fighting and ignoring each other ij the last few years of our marriage?" Hannah hurriedly asked him. Putting her hand on his shoulder to show the seriousness.

"I guess that’s what you know! I mean why wouldn’t you? It’s true, but there is deeper reason behind it. The real reason it all started to happen. Do you remember why started to fight in the first place?"

"Hmm? Wasn’t it because you were always busy with your work? Not giving us any time? Always acting cold and distant? Not only to me but Max as well?"

The Max of course was none other the protagonist and the beloved child of the couple.

"Yes! But don’t you think there was a real culprit behind this? Someone who initiated this? Don’t you remember why faught for the first time? And don’t you think someone is to blame for that?"

"The first time we faught? Of course I remember! It was just before dinner. You returned late from work. After coming home, you directly went in to your study to get something important. I think it was some kind of delivery that your secretary bought. But when you went in there, you discovered that Max had apparently opened the package and broke the thing inside it.

After that you got so angry at him. Shouting so much that I could hear all the way from the kitchen. And when I got into the room, I saw you almost slapping Max. That led to our fight. After that we started sleeping in seperate rooms and not long after that got divorce."

Lucien looked at her with expectant eyes, as if urging her to realize something. It did not long Hannah to realize the meaning behind his gaze. Her face tightened, eyes turned red in anger and she shouted.

"Don’t you dare to even think of something like that. Just because we are back together doesn’t mean you can run all over me once again. Especially not to something like this. How can you even think os something like that. He was just 13 at the time. Why would he do something like that? Going as far as to seperate his own parents? ℴℴ𝘮

I didn’t think you would stoop this low. This is seriously disgusting even for someone like you. I will never allow you to blame him. If you think something so disgusting about your own child. Leave! There is no future between us. I will never stand with you, if you go against him.

She realized the meaning behind his words and she was of course enraged. Because in her mind, Max could never do Something like that. At least not to his own parents.

In fact she felt disgust towards Lucien, because she thought he always hated him. Always being strict with him, not letting their own child spend time with them. Especially with her. Always shouting and acting suspicious towards Max.

At first she thought it was just his nature but as Max grew older Lucien acted with even more cruelty. And as his mother Hannah of course couldn’t tolerate something like this.

Although she thinks Max would have done wrong by breaking something important of Lucien. But no matter what it would be, it couldn’t be enough to allow him to hit their child.

Now once again acting so hatefully against him, she would not tolerate something like this.

"If it was not for him, I wouldn’t be here today. He was the one who supported me, while I was at my lowest. Always taking care of me, when I became lethargic. He was and will always be the most important person in my life.

Lucien! Lucien! I didn’t think you would still be hell bent on hating that innocent child. Don’t you remember the time when he was an infant? How he was the reason for our happiness? Weren’t you so proud of him? Always bragging to others about him? Buying gifts and toys for him, every chance you got? Don’t you remember all that?

I didn’t think you are still the man you used to be. I was wrong to believe that you had finally changed but i guess not. You are still the animal you used to be."

She ranted her heart out. She could tolerate anything in this world but not a word against her child. Even if it was from Lucien, who was the love of her life.

"He is dead you know! He died in a plane crash. I couldn’t even see the face my child after his death. Do you know how hard it was for me to handle that shock? He was just 14 at the time. He was not even an teenager yet. He had his all life ahead of him. Do you know the loss I felt after his death?

I guess you wouldn’t! You didn’t even attended the funeral I held. You never cared about him. But do you know how much he cared about us? Do you know how many times he tried to bring us together? Going to your company, your house just see you again talk to you again. But you? You didn’t even see him once."

Yes, she still thought the protagonist was dead. He still had to make his appearance in the novel. It was also one the reason why he could get together with Hannah so easily.

Lucien finally couldn’t hold it any more.

"He is alive!"
