A Reward Worth More Than Life

After distributing the Mystic Life Fruits to them, Julian D’Aurelius gave Shera three more.

The three fruits lay calmly in Julian’s palm, each exhibiting an invisible and almost Spiritual Qi light that beat steadily, as if a small heartbeat existed within.

The aroma emitted from the three fruits dispersed in the air and in the courtyard, bringing with them a fresh and refreshing wave, which seemed to be capable of expelling and removing fatigue, as well as soothes an agitated soul.

Even those who stood nearby could clearly sense the immense Spiritual Energy that originated from them.

Shera watched at three treasured, one in a million fruits with utter shock.

His respiration grew uneven.

He had barely managed to enter the mid stage of Silver Rank with life-saving efforts!

Nobody knew this fact better than Shera himself.

Every single level up he achieved had come with suffering of blood, death at least once or twice, endless efforts and hardship, and he himself had to cling to life on the brink of death; not even willing to give up once, each scar had represented a soul-testing battle.

Even after suffering all this hardship, he had still only reached the mid level of Silver Rank.

But now...

Three Mystic Life Fruits, enough to make him skip straight to mid level of gold rank!

An opportunity which those powerful Old Martial arts experts never even dreamed off.

To average practitioners, this type of divine weapon was only available in legends and never even appears once in a lifetime, but this time, Julian handed over such a treasure like some apples.

Shera slowly raised his hand and collected them withtrembling hands. The moment those three fruits entered Shera’s palms,he canfeel a thick spiritual power surge into his body andhis eyes already begin to redden.

With receiving three Mystic Life Fruits, tears were already welling in Shera’s eyes. His throat felt constricted and he lowered his head so as to hide it, But the emotions and gratitude couldn’t help but pour out from his heart!

Young master Julian thought so much of him and cared so much for him! In his whole life, he had served many people, saw various kinds of selfishness and it is very easy to see in powerful figures as all they know were how to command other people and cling unto themselves every priceless item.

Julian was different.

Whenever there were benefits, he never forgot the people around him.

Whenever danger appeared, he stood at the front instead of hiding behind others.

Such a master...

How could anyone not willingly follow him?

Such important items, he gave them to him without hesitation.

Shera’s fingers clenched tightly around the fruits.

His vision blurred as tears rolled down his weathered face.

Even if he used his life to repay Young Master Julian’s kindness, it still felt insufficient!

His heart was filled with gratitude and unwavering loyalty.

He silently swore to himself that no matter what happened in the future, he would never betray Julian. Even if the entire world turned against his young master, he would continue standing beside him until his final breath.

Taking a deep breath, Shera wiped away the tears gathering in his eyes.

His lips trembled before he finally spoke.

"Young Master Julian, honestly, if I were a woman I would marry you..."

His sincere confession echoed through the courtyard.

Shera choked up, wiping his tears and snot.

The atmosphere that had been filled with deep emotion instantly became strange.

Before he could finish, Julian got goosebumps.

He felt every hair on his body stand upright.

A shiver ran down his spine as an indescribable chill spread across his entire body.

Good intentions were one thing.

But hearing such heartfelt words from a grown man...

That was simply too much.

Without wasting another second, Julian immediately raised a hand to stop him.

He quickly interrupted the guy.

"Alright, stop talking. Go into seclusion and consume these three. There are things I need you to do later."

His voice remained calm, but he was already trying his best to escape the awkward situation before Shera became even more emotional.

Shera nodded vigorously.

"I understand, Young Master Julian."

His expression turned solemn once more.

He carefully stored away the three Mystic Life Fruits as though they were the greatest treasures in existence.

He knew this opportunity could completely change his future.

He would absolutely not disappoint Julian’s expectations.

After arranging Shera and his group, Julian shivered as he walked out.

He unconsciously rubbed his arms.

Old Shera, his words were simply deadly.

Julian let out a helpless sigh.

For a brief moment, he almost regretted being so generous.

Almost.

Then again, seeing the genuine loyalty in Shera’s eyes made him smile faintly.

There were many ways to win someone’s allegiance.

Fear could force obedience.

Power could demand submission.

But true loyalty could only be earned through trust.

That was exactly what Julian had done.

The quiet corridor stretched ahead, illuminated by soft afternoon sunlight spilling through the windows. A gentle breeze carried the scent of flowers from the courtyard, easing away the lingering awkwardness little by little.

Just then, graceful footsteps approached.

Lina Ashford walked toward him with her usual composed expression. Her long green hair swayed gently behind her, while her striking purple eyes reflected unwavering calm. Although her face remained professional, there was unmistakable respect hidden beneath her steady gaze.

Stopping before Julian, she bowed her head slightly.

"Young Master Julian, as per your instructions, I’ve arranged for the Black Ghost and White Ghost to be placed in that... what was it, Funhouse."
