Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway
Chapter 222: Phoenix Order
Chapter 222 -224: Phoenix Order
A gigantic, fiery-red bird snatched Su Luoluo from the air and flew away.
Su Luoluo’s first instinct was to struggle free, but seeing herself suspended in midair with her slightly swollen belly, she gave up the idea.
If she fell from this height, not only would she be dead or crippled, but the little cub in her belly would be gone too.
Although her Water Ability’s Superpower Level wasn’t low, she still wasn’t confident she could survive a jump from so high up.
After all, she cultivated the Water Ability, not the Wind Ability.
The bird was flying in a hurry, but it didn’t loosen its talons. It seemed it didn’t want to kill her right away.
She might as well wait and see what it wanted.
‘The best approach now is to wait and react to whatever comes.’ After figuring this out, Su Luoluo quietly curled up and let the pair of golden talons hold her.
Up ahead, Xiao Ye was busy dealing with Feng Huo and never imagined a bird would descend from the sky.
It was Xi Yi, who was behind them, who saw it. His dark eyes narrowed as he shouted a warning.
Unfortunately, Su Luoluo couldn’t react in time and was snatched away.
Xi Yi immediately sent a powerful gust of wind blasting forward. After knocking over the few Fire Jackal Beasts blocking his path, he instantly gave chase.
When Mo Xuan, Fu Feng, Xiao Ye, Luan Ting, and Nantu saw Su Luoluo being abducted, their expressions changed in alarm.
Bai Meng’s face also changed in an instant. He silently cursed Xiao Ye. ‘What the hell was he doing? He pulled her behind him but still failed to protect her.’
He sped up his attacks, slaughtering the Beastmen in front of him.
Seeing the situation, the others also quickened their attacks.
Xiao Ye’s eyes narrowed. He instantly flared his purple scales, and the scales on his body shot toward the Fire Jackal Beasts opposite him like a sky-full of raining blades.
Seeing these blade-like scales, Feng Huo instantly retreated a few steps and unleashed a Fire Palm from his hand, striking at Xiao Ye.
A cold glint flashed in Luan Ting’s eyes. Facing the Fifth-rank Jackal Beast before him, his sharp fingertips instantly transformed into sharp blades as he launched his attack.
Fu Feng and Mo Xuan didn’t back down either, both intensifying their assaults.
Meanwhile, Nantu was at the rear, dealing with some of the lesser jackals and covering their retreat.
The Fire Bird carried Su Luoluo for a certain distance before putting her down.
Of course, it didn’t put her down gently. It simply dropped her from a certain height above the ground.
With quick reflexes, Su Luoluo shot out a vine and wrapped it around a tree trunk, allowing her to land safely.
The moment the fiery bird landed, it transformed into a human figure. Its fiery red, feathery clothes were as dazzling as a spider lily—bewitching and flamboyant.
She looked down at Su Luoluo, her eyes filled with contempt. “So you’re the one they call Su Luoluo?”
Su Luoluo was completely baffled. She didn’t know this person at all, yet the woman acted with such arrogance.
She brushed the leaves off her clothes and said lightly, “I am that Su Luoluo. What about it?”
“You don’t seem gentle, and your features are as plain as can be. How could Brother Feng possibly fall for a female like you…” After speaking, the newcomer scanned Su Luoluo from head to toe, as if appraising an object. When she was done, she didn’t forget to add a disdainful critique.
From beginning to end, she never showed Su Luoluo a shred of respect.
When her gaze fell on Su Luoluo’s slightly swollen belly, her superior expression instantly turned grim. She reached out and clamped her hand around Su Luoluo’s throat. “You’re actually carrying his cub.”
Suddenly grabbed by the throat, Su Luoluo struggled to breathe. She managed to force out a question, “Who are you talking about? I don’t understand a single word you’re saying.”
“Hmph. You don’t need to understand. Today is the day you die.”
With that, she tightened her grip on Su Luoluo’s throat, intending to crush it.
Seeing that the woman was a lunatic, Su Luoluo decided not to play along. She conjured a pillar of water in her palm and splashed it right in the woman’s face.
Caught off guard by the sudden splash of water, Hua Jinxin couldn’t open her eyes. With her vision attacked, the strength in her hand loosened considerably.
Su Luoluo seized the opportunity to break free from the grip on her neck and scrambled backward to escape.
“Trying to run? Not so easy!” Hua Jinxin snapped her head up. A wisp of red flame ignited on her golden fingertips as she attacked Su Luoluo.
Su Luoluo instantly enlarged the pillar of water, forming it into a water sphere that she shot back in response.
The transparent water sphere met the red flame, but it didn’t last long before bursting in midair.
Hua Jinxin took a step back, her eyes turning venomous. She immediately formed a sign with both hands and chanted a Spell: “Phoenix Order, release the fire, activate!”
As her words fell, the surrounding air currents surged. Fiery golden flames materialized in the air, forming into fiery golden tokens that descended upon Su Luoluo.
Su Luoluo’s scalp tingled with fear as she watched. She cried out to her system, ‘System, help me! What is this stuff? It’s terrifying!’
But after she spoke, there was only silence from the system.
‘No way. It’s this unreliable at a critical moment?’
‘If it doesn’t come out to protect me, this is where I die today.’
‘System! Hey, System, where are you? Do you have a protective shield?’
The system remained silent. Su Luoluo could only summon her pillar of water again, preparing to close her eyes and block the attack.
A mass of black beast fur drifted down from the sky, forming an impenetrable barrier that completely enveloped Su Luoluo.
Just like that, Xi Yi descended from the sky like a descending God, shielding Su Luoluo behind him.
Under his control, the black beast fur then transformed into thousands of fine, furry needles that shot toward the golden-red flaming tokens, exploding into a Hei Mao lotus in the blink of an eye.
Hua Jinxin’s brow furrowed. She retreated a few steps and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
“Who are you? To think you could break my Phoenix Order.”
Xi Yi’s eyes narrowed slightly as he let out a lazy laugh. “Just a few broken tokens, and you act like they’re so impressive. I’d advise you to back off now. Otherwise, don’t blame me for what happens next.”
Before Xi Yi could finish his warning, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard.
Hua Jinxin glanced ahead, then immediately turned invisible and retreated. Seeing the person hiding behind Xi Yi from midair, she couldn’t accept it. She formed a fireball and hurled it down.
Xi Yi noticed. He raised his long arm, about to swat it away, but when he saw the worried look in Su Luoluo’s eyes, he pulled his arm back. He pulled Su Luoluo into his arms to shield her, and the fireball struck him directly in the back.
Xi Yi’s entire body slumped forward. Su Luoluo caught him with one arm, crying out in alarm, “Xi Yi, are you okay? Xi Yi…”
Xi Yi shook his head. “I’m fine, Luoluo…”
But blood was trickling from the corner of Xi Yi’s mouth, and his normally brilliant eyes had grown somewhat dry and much dimmer than before.
Seeing this, Su Luoluo’s heart tightened, and it began to pound relentlessly.
Although she usually found Xi Yi a bit annoying, seeing him injured made her heart fill with anxiety.
She immediately sent out her vines to treat his external wounds.
Fortunately, it was only an external injury. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t have known what to do.
