"Nuannuan, you know this Heavenly Girl?" Hei Feng asked, noticing the familiarity in Su Nuannuan’s tone.

Su Nuannuan quickly shook her head. "How could I possibly know her?"

’She couldn’t let Hei Feng know she was acquainted with the Wolf Clan.’

’It’s been so long, and now Su Luoluo is being called the Heavenly Girl. She really has her methods.’

Su Nuannuan had thought that becoming a Leader’s Wife would make her far better off than Su Luoluo. She never expected to find herself living in her shadow again in a new place.

"Nuannuan, I’m leaving the flower rat situation to you. I’m going fishing with the others," Hei Feng suddenly added while Su Nuannuan was still lost in thought.

Su Nuannuan nodded. "I understand."

After Hei Feng left, Su Nuannuan ordered a few females to go catch flower rats, but they mostly ignored her.

When asked to find food these past few days, she had only been able to suggest eating wild fruit, which made the tribe members resent her. Fortunately, she later realized the fish in the water were edible, which lessened their ill will considerably.

’It seems I need to find a way to win back their favor soon, or they won’t listen to me.’

Although the plague had been dealt with, the wild beasts were still not safe to eat.

The main issue was not knowing if the virus would evolve further, which created a food problem.

The tribe had many members, and the taro, sweet potatoes, and regular potatoes Su Luoluo had previously led them to dig up were nearly gone. To solve the food crisis, they had to find new sources.

With everyone in the tribe focused on dealing with the plague, Su Luoluo gathered several of her Beastmen to go search for food.

They had already found most of the edible plants near the tribe, so she needed to venture out further.

She had thought it would be easy to find more taro, potatoes, and sweet potatoes by going further out.

But it turned out the surrounding land had been completely picked over, leaving nothing but bare earth.

’It seems this plague has made people from many tribes avoid the beasts at all costs, so they’ve all started digging for food instead.’

Fu Feng frowned as he looked at the ransacked landscape. "It seems no one has much food left."

Nantu’s brow furrowed as well. "If we can’t find anything, I’ll just find a few more rivers. We can keep eating fish."

Su Luoluo, standing at the front, was not at all interested in the idea.

Luan Ting looked at her. "Should we run? Or is it close enough to walk?"

Su Luoluo mentally checked the distance. The rice field was quite a ways from their current location.

’But I can’t tell them the truth. If they knew I could get details from so far away, it would be a dead giveaway that I have other superpowers besides Wood and Water Element.’

She nodded. "Let’s run over and take a look. I just used my vines to probe the area, and there are a lot of fruits over there."

Hearing this, Luan Ting nodded and transformed into a wolf. "Then, Luoluo, get on!"

The forest terrain was rugged, and a snake’s slithering wouldn’t be very stable. Although Xiao Ye couldn’t stand Luan Ting, he was sensible enough not to argue.

Mo Xuan and Fu Feng, however, had other ideas. They spoke in unison: "Luoluo, how about you ride me?"

Su Luoluo ignored them both, simply stating, "I’ll ride with whoever asked first," before hopping directly onto Luan Ting’s back.

The group headed west, and after about twenty minutes, they arrived in a low-lying area.

Seeing the expanse of gold, Su Luoluo quickly hopped off Luan Ting’s back. She ran over, grabbed a handful of grain, and rubbed it between her palms. When she saw the small white kernels, her face lit up with a huge smile. "Everyone, I found food!"

The six of them looked toward the "food" Su Luoluo was talking about, only to see her holding a tiny, white, round thing in her hand, laughing joyfully.

The kernel was much smaller than the potatoes, taro, and sweet potatoes they were used to. It didn’t look like something that could fill their stomachs.

Nantu looked at the golden field with a sense of déjà vu. He asked, "Is this like the wheat we found before? Do we have to grind it into powder to eat it?"

He remembered how he had laughed at Su Luoluo before, saying she’d gathered a pile of weeds. But after she ground them into flour and made all sorts of delicious dishes, he never dared to say such a thing again.

Su Luoluo gave Nantu an appreciative look. ’This curious one is different,’ she thought, ’he spotted the similarity between the two right away.’

"That’s right, it’s similar to wheat, but this is called rice. It doesn’t need to be ground into flour. You can eat it just by removing the golden outer hull," Su Luoluo explained slowly, gazing at the vast expanse of rice plants before them.

The men listened, but they only half-understood, since they had never eaten such a thing before.

Mo Xuan looked at the golden field and asked quizzically, "Did your Black Bear Foster Mother teach you to eat this, too?"

Hearing this, Su Luoluo tensed up. ’I can’t answer that question! Xi Yi is right behind me!’

She shook her head. "No, I discovered this myself."

"Once, when I was out exploring, I got curious and husked some, then boiled it. I was surprised to find it was delicious."

Su Luoluo said this very quietly. Mo Xuan didn’t seem to have any suspicions and nodded. "If you say it’s delicious, then it must be. Should we harvest all of it, just like last time?"

"That’s right. You need to cut down the stalks and lay them out neatly, just like before."

’Even though it’s wild rice, this area is huge—several acres at a glance. If we gather all of this, the tribe will have food for the next six months, with plenty to spare.’

At her words, the men sprang into action.
