Chapter 177: Chapter 179: Eat Your Words, Lan Ya

After relocating, no one else in the Black Pig Tribe died.

Hei Feng now felt he had married a lucky star. If Su Nuannuan hadn’t insisted, even more people in the tribe would have died.

Because of this "wise" measure from Su Nuannuan, many in the Black Pig Tribe came to trust her. She thus became a convincing Leader’s Wife, even more respected than Lan Ya had been.

She was very satisfied with this.

’As expected, even after leaving the Wolf Clan, I, Su Nuannuan, can still live very well.’

However, she soon discovered that there was a problem with the food as well. Because of this, she specifically ordered everyone to stop eating wild beasts. When they were hungry, they were to eat wild fruits.

At first, the tribe’s people could accept it, but after a few days, they gradually couldn’t take it anymore.

"My lady, how much longer do we have to eat these wild fruits?"

Su Nuannuan’s own face was turning green from eating the wild fruits, but compared to dying, she felt a green face was nothing. She snapped at the person who asked, "If you want to die, you can stop eating them."

The person who had asked was frightened by Su Nuannuan’s fierce gaze. ’But the Leader’s Wife was so gentle before!’

Seeing Su Nuannuan’s anger, someone nearby quickly explained, "Leader’s Wife, that’s not what he meant. It’s just that the beggar’s chicken you made last time was delicious, so he wanted to ask if you knew how to make any other tasty dishes."

’Make food?’

Hearing this, Su Nuannuan mentally rolled her eyes. ’I’m not Su Luoluo, why would I make so many different dishes?’

Of course, she couldn’t let anyone know what she was thinking. She could only smile and say, "The dishes I know how to make all use wild beasts, since that’s what we usually eat most."

Hearing Su Nuannuan’s reply, the person had no choice but to drop the matter.

’When will we be done with these wild fruits? I’m getting sick just from eating them.’

’The Leader’s Wife clearly said before that she was great at making lots of delicious food, but other than the beggar’s chicken she made when we first met her, we’ve never seen her make anything else.’

...

In contrast to the Black Pig Tribe, who were eating wild fruits until they wanted to puke, the people of the Wolf Clan Tribe had spent the last few days in a culinary paradise.

How was Su Luoluo so good at cooking?

They never knew that besides grilling, fish could also be boiled or pan-fried.

And each time, the fish tasted completely different.

Even the snail-like river snails from the deep pool could be made into a spicy snail dish.

And those green things that Su Luoluo called crayfish would turn bright red after being fried. Su Luoluo called it fried crayfish.

When she prepared these things, they were so delicious people wanted to lick their fingers clean.

They even privately marveled, if they had known the things in the water were this delicious, why had they gone through all the trouble of hunting before?

Hunting wild beasts was exhausting and time-consuming, and the meat wasn’t even as tasty as this food.

But the tribe had many people. If they kept foraging for food in the pool, they would soon empty it.

After leading the group in making aquatic delicacies for a few days, Su Luoluo took the tribe’s people into the jungle to look for mountain provisions.

Seeing Su Luoluo lead them into the woods, Cai Xia asked, "Luoluo, are we going to look for wild fruits?"

After all, no matter how deep the pool was, it couldn’t sustain over a hundred tribe members catching fish and shrimp. Seeing Su Luoluo leading them into the forest, Cai Xia ventured a guess.

Su Luoluo shook her head. "Wild fruits aren’t that great. Eat too many and you’ll get a sour stomach, and they don’t fill you up. I’m taking you to dig up something big."

"Something big? What is it?" Ah Zhu asked curiously upon hearing this.

Su Luoluo decided to be mysterious. "You’ll know when we find it."

Following Su Luoluo, everyone had discovered many new and amazing things. Their initial curiosity had turned into admiration, and now they would follow her with their eyes closed.

Whatever Su Luoluo said was right; they didn’t argue.

Because of this, Su Luoluo’s status in the tribe was now second only to Su Yang’s.

And before, that position had belonged to Lan Ya.

Seeing that Su Luoluo was more popular than her, Lan Ya started being petty again.

The previous ban preventing Su Luoluo from going out had been dropped due to Fu Feng’s intimidation.

But now, with her Beastman husbands away, she wasn’t afraid of anything and started picking a fight. "What ’big thing’? You’re usually too lazy to even move. What kind of good things could you possibly find? I think you’re just spouting nonsense."

"Besides, we travel through these woods all the time. If there was really something edible to be found, we would have discovered it long ago. We don’t need you to be all mysterious about it."

"If you ask me, we should just go pick Red Frost Fruits. The Red Frost Fruits this season are big and sweet."

’She was so many years older than Su Luoluo; how could she possibly know less about what was in the forest than her?’

Although Lan Ya’s words were a bit harsh, many of the Beastmen actually thought the same thing.

During times of famine, it wasn’t as if they hadn’t searched the jungle for things to eat. But aside from some wild fruits, there was nothing else good.

Hearing Lan Ya making a fuss, Su Luoluo couldn’t even be bothered to respond to her.

’Anyway, there will be plenty of time for her to eat her words later.’

Although Su Nuannuan had been gone from the Wolf Clan for a long time, many people had taken her words from the day she fled to heart.

Cai Xia was the one who couldn’t stand it the most. "My lady, Red Frost Fruits are delicious, but they’re only around for a few days. Once they’re eaten, they’re gone. We should listen to Luoluo!"

"That’s right, let’s listen to Luoluo."

Lan Ya’s supposedly clever words were thus rebuffed by the tribe members, and her face instantly turned ashen.

In the past, whenever she said such things, these people would always praise and agree with her. Now they were openly mocking her.

’And the root of all this is Su Luoluo. I’d like to see what good thing she can find. If she can’t find anything, then she shouldn’t blame me, her Mother, for teaching her a lesson about not lying.’

’A person raised by a Black Bear is just no good.’

Lan Ya followed behind Su Luoluo, her eyes fixed on her every move, while also scanning the surrounding trees.

’I refuse to believe there’s anything better than Red Frost Fruits at this time of year.’

After getting flour, Su Luoluo had rarely gone into the forest, except to pick wild vegetables and spices.

Now, leading so many people, she directly activated her Earth Element detection ability.

Following the system’s instructions, she arrived at a patch of land covered in lush green leaves.

Seeing her stop, Lan Ya snorted, a smirk on her lips. "So this is your ’big thing’? All I see are leaves, no fruit. Don’t tell me you plan to make everyone eat leaves with you? We of the Wolf Clan are carnivores, not herbivores."

Su Luoluo crouched down and shot her a glare. "Who said I was looking for leaves?"

"If not leaves, then what?" Not only was Lan Ya stunned, but even Cai Xia had no idea what Su Luoluo was looking for.

The ground before them was covered only with these lush green leaves. There was nothing else.

Su Luoluo pushed aside the verdant stalks, then casually picked up a stick and started digging in the dirt.

"The treasure I’m looking for is buried underground. It’s delicious whether you steam it or boil it."
