Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1861: Feeling Insecure
King Louis looked at him and asked softly, "Knowing that I am a doctor, why not ask me to help treat her depression?"
"..." This question left General Vance speechless, feeling somewhat guilty, he pulled back his gaze, not daring to meet his eyes directly.
Yes, he had his own motives, wanting to climb the royal ladder.
Giving just a brief response, King Louis did not reproach further, his demeanor remained gentle, saying no more, but his attitude was clear and non-negotiable.
Outside the study, after two minutes, Jocelyn Morgan clearly heard the conversation inside.
Even though Ian Shelby refused, her heart still felt uneasy.
Lorelei practiced polygamy... It made her suddenly feel insecure.
She didn’t listen to the rest of the conversation, instead, she turned around and left, her steps becoming somewhat heavy.
Alone, she went up to the terrace. Jocelyn sat in the chair, turning her gaze toward the lush towering trees not far away, unintentionally lost in thought...
Yes, this is a polygamous country, she knew it before but hadn’t thought much about it.
It really tests the feelings between two people, doesn’t it?
In this model, polygamous families must be countless, it’s so unfair to women; so what is love really?
Even in monogamy, many people have affairs, human nature is inherently fickle, unable to withstand scrutiny.
Jocelyn Morgan’s heart ached faintly... She is a princess living in a fairy tale world, with a beautiful view of love.
She loves Ian Shelby, she admires him, respects him, with a love that is unwavering, wanting to stay with him for a lifetime.
It was unknown how long had passed when Jocelyn heard footsteps, she returned to herself and turned her gaze, seeing Ian Shelby coming over.
"I heard Arthur say you came up." Ian Shelby squatted down in front of her, holding her slightly cold fingers, met her gaze, and smiled asking, "What are you thinking about alone? You seemed lost in thought."
His eyes full of affection, gazing at her indulgently, "Do you have something on your mind? Are you unhappy?"
"No." The girl smiled, her eyes bright like stars, "Did you notice the scenery on this terrace is great?" She disguised.
Turning her gaze towards the distance, Jocelyn smiled and said, "I like this vast expanse of green." Directly changing the subject.
"Did you finish writing your manuscript today?" His gaze fell on her face, not interested in the scenery, as to him, she was the best sight.
"I’ve finished it." Jocelyn Morgan retracted her gaze, smiling and said to him, "Writing here is particularly smooth, not stuck at all, the state is especially good."
"That’s great, just consider it a vacation." Ian Shelby squeezed her shoulder, got up and sat opposite her, "We’ll return to Riventhal in a few days, how do you feel after the rest?"
"Huh?"
"I mean, do you feel tired now? After all, you’ve been busy around the wedding for several days." Ian Shelby made her recuperate here, considering there’s another one to be held in Riventhal, which is also physically demanding.
The girl shook her head, "Not tired, feeling good."
"Then can we go back next Monday?"
"Sure."
Then Ian Shelby sat in the chair accompanying her for tea, never bringing up General Vance’s request for him to marry Winnie Vance.
Actually, Jocelyn somewhat expected, hoping he would mention it actively, even if he rejected it.
Having been denied by both father and son, General Vance returned to his quarters, anxious over his daughter’s condition.
"Father, what did King Louis say?" The girl asked expectantly.
At this point, the general’s wife saw a piece of news on her phone, her pupils dilated, her face changed slightly, holding the phone, she quickly stepped toward him, the whole person was in a state of shock.
