Bertie adjusted his mood, wore a smile, and stepped inside.

In the yard, he encountered a servant who came up to him and gently asked, "Sir, who are you looking for?" stopping him in his tracks.

In the living room, Jasmine and Everett Morgan were coming downstairs when they inadvertently saw the scene in the yard through the floor-to-ceiling window.

"Who is it? Your friend?" Jasmine turned and asked, noticing that the person was carrying something.

"I don’t know him." Everett focused on Bertie and said confidently, "I’ve never seen this person before."

In no time, the servant led him towards the living room.

The Morgan couple descended the stairs and arrived at the living room door. Bertie, with a kind, smiling face, came carrying items, "Could you be Jocelyn’s uncle and aunt?"

The couple exchanged glances and Everett softly replied, "Yes." They were puzzled about his identity.

"I’m... Oh no, I’m Ian’s father." Bertie smiled broadly, "Looks like I found the right place." He exuded none of the airs of an old king, appearing instead as a normal father at this time.

Everett and Jasmine were taken aback—Lorelei’s former king?

Seeing their stunned expressions, Bertie promptly clarified his intentions with a smile, "Today, I’m just Ian’s father, knowing he and Jocelyn are dating and have plans to marry. This is my first visit, wanting to discuss the children’s matters with you two and show our sincerity."

Jasmine snapped back to reality; it was something she never anticipated.

She smiled, "Come in, come in." Feeling inexplicably a bit reserved.

"These are two boxes of tea leaves, a small greeting gift, please be considerate." The old king had walked around the marketplace but couldn’t find a more suitable gift.

He wanted to ensure the meeting happened today, as things seemed more sincere the sooner they were done.

"Thank you." Jasmine reached out to accept it, "Actually, there’s no need to bring gifts. Your visit itself is a big surprise." She hadn’t expected to meet the in-laws.

"They’ve been dating for so long, yet it’s my first time contacting you, I truly apologize for that." Bertie sat down on the sofa, saying, "I just found out too, so please don’t take it to heart."

"Oh, no, no." Jasmine felt a bit embarrassed, and quickly had the servant prepare tea to host him, as they had already agreed to the couple’s relationship.

Then she sat down beside Everett, and the two sets of parents began discussing the children’s marriage.

Today, Bertie came with great sincerity in the guise of a kind old father, especially supporting the two children being together, expressing his approval and fondness for Jocelyn, and respecting their decision to settle in Riventhal.

Father and son hadn’t discussed beforehand, but in front of the Morgan elders, their attitudes were remarkably aligned.

At this moment, Ian had one hand on the steering wheel, the other holding Jocelyn’s hand, their fingers tightly interlaced. The beautiful sunset streamed in through the window, warmly illuminating them both.

In the car, Mao Buyi’s song "Give You Give Me" played, with lyrics incredibly fitting: Give me your untarnished innocence and freedom, give me your most precious, everything and everything...

"What would you like to eat?" Jocelyn turned to look at him, her voice gentle, "Should we go exploring some stores? Perhaps some niche spots?"

Ian turned to her, smiling, his face beautifully composed, he said, "In your world, my world is ruled by you."

The car was moving slowly; he held her hand tightly. Jocelyn happily met his gaze, Dr. Shelby’s refined appearance, picturesque features, against the backdrop of the sunset, seemed to exude a captivating charm.
