Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 1320 - 522: Catastrophe of Flesh and Blood

  • Next Chapter

On the vast, endless sea, a mysterious island emerged.

This island was enveloped in twisted flesh, veins and fascia-like exposed flesh sprawling across it.

From above, the flesh continued to pulse, as if liquid flowed through the veins and flesh, activating the entire island.

At the center, a protruding tumor-like mass throbbed rhythmically, like a bizarre heart.

The island’s former buildings weren’t completely destroyed; some flesh merely clung to the structures, adding a sinister and nauseating aura.

Fascia-like vein threads spread thickly like spider webs, some entirely covered by flesh.

Things made of this flesh clung together, occasionally expelling thick, blood-stained fluid.

It was exceedingly nauseating.

Aside from the massive interconnected swathes of flesh, individual entities could be seen.

Many grotesque creatures similar to the twisted flesh, some resembling distorted humans, waddling unevenly.

Like skinless flesh monsters, some human-shaped, others with even more twisted forms.

Of course, there were also various animal-like flesh monsters.

They moved slowly, as if puzzled by their own existence, inching forward.

"Whoosh!"

A sharp sound pierced the air.

A twisted monster, with large fleshy ears, raised its head towards the sky.

Then it only saw a shadow arc across the sky, hurtling straight towards it.

The slow-moving form barely dodged, and the shadow struck directly.

Bang!

With a loud explosion and fierce firelight,

The monster was immediately smashed into a mass of flesh, splattering like debris everywhere.

A charred crater and scattered blackened meat chunks remained on the ground, the air filled with the scent of fireworks and burnt flesh.

The flesh fragments, even blasted apart, remained connected by fascia vein threads.

This flesh began to crawl, like worms.

They slowly congregated towards the center, but since some flesh was completely incinerated, the reassembled mass couldn’t restore the previous twisted human form.

Instead, it became a worm-like writhing chunk, leaving behind a slime-like liquid resembling pus mixed with blood as it moved.

Yet not all chunks had this function; most flesh monsters, once destroyed, lay on the ground as piles of meat.

If falling onto flesh, they’d be directly absorbed.

The whole process was extraordinarily hard to tolerate, nauseating.

The whistling of shells slicing through air frequently passed overhead, landing randomly around.

Some struck the fleshy tumor, blasting open a large hole, flesh erupting from within.

But for a flesh monster the size of an island, these small holes were mere scratches, negligible.

Not to mention the flesh’s exceptional regenerative ability; as soon as the holes appeared, countless flesh spread from the blasted spots. Strands of flesh bound and repaired, even turning more sinister as the blasted meat chunks consolidated externally into new monsters roaming nearby.

Around the island, countless sailing ships launched attacks. Shells bombarded the flesh endlessly, but in vain.

All wounds healed swiftly, flesh could condense smaller monsters, like a factory ceaselessly producing creatures.

This flesh island seemed invincible; besides shells, strange energy attacks filled the sky.

But these caused as little damage as the shells, unable to harm the extremely resilient, self-healing flesh island.

From the sky, the island looked like a soaring, massive life form, slowly crawling.

Finally, distant attacks ceased, the surroundings fell quiet.

Around Rising Sun Island, ships circled, sailing slowly.

Those shell attacks had just been fired from the ships.

Looking around, dozens of ships encircled the island.

Among them were armed merchant ships, alongside bizarre vessels likely from fleets sailing the Endless Sea.

Most came from the Holy Machine Church’s ironclad warships, cannon muzzles on their hulls, firing shells.

These iron ships bore the Holy Machine Church symbols, deployed like fortresses around the island.

A gigantic iron warship, over a hundred meters long.

Its imposing construction indicated it was the flagship of the surrounding fleet.

It wasn’t positioned too close to the island, but remained at a distance, its cannons having an extensive range, capable of precisely hitting the island from afar.

Add to that the flagship’s role in command, thus it stayed in a relatively safe location.
