Chapter 564: An Explanation for the Fans

Melody Monroe thought it over. Even though she didn’t have much to say to others about the situation, she decided to stop by her fan group chat.

She owed an explanation to the fans who had always supported her.

After the news about Ian broke, her follower count had dropped. Keith Coleman ran the numbers and found that most of those who had unfollowed were male fans.

She lost over 10,000 followers, but the numbers stabilized afterward.

The fan group chat was quiet. Everyone had been so busy with the voting campaign for so long, and some had even gone a full day and night without sleep.

"Good evening, everyone."

Melody Monroe sent the first message, a simple greeting.

"Melody?"

"Whoa, is it really Melody?"

"I’m not seeing things, am I?!"

"Melody, Melody!"

The group chat instantly exploded with activity. In less than a minute, hundreds of messages flooded in.

Watching their enthusiastic responses, Melody Monroe couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

"Shouldn’t Melody be at the Golden Orchid Award banquet right now?"

The group admin simply muted everyone.

"I’ve enabled mute mode to make it easier for Melody to chat with everyone. It was impossible to communicate with all that chaos."

The group immediately fell silent, and Melody Monroe, funnily enough, found it a bit strange.

"First of all, I want to express my sincerest thanks to all of you. Thank you for spending the last month voting for me. I wouldn’t have achieved what I did today without you. I won two awards tonight, and I’m incredibly happy and surprised. I will work even harder and give better performances to live up to all your support and love."

"As you know, something came out recently about my child. I’ve kept this from everyone because I only wanted to give him a healthy environment to grow up in. His father is not Jedediah Scott, nor is he some rich old man. I am not, and have never been, anyone’s mistress. However, I can’t reveal his father’s identity just yet, and I hope you can all understand. I already mentioned during the awards ceremony that I’ll be holding a press conference in Jansburg to give the public a formal explanation."

"I’m sorry for making you all worry about me."

When Melody Monroe finished, the admin unmuted the group.

Even though they could suddenly speak again, the fans remained quiet for a moment.

"Melody, I became your fan because of your hard work and your acting. Is having a child a crime? Is it wrong for a mother to love her child and want to protect him? I don’t think you have anything to apologize for!"

"Exactly! I’d say that *not* having the child would have been irresponsible. Giving birth and raising him right—that’s true responsibility."

"Melody, we’ll always be here for you, every step of the way."

"I only have one request! Let us see Ian from time to time! Melody, do you have any HD photos? I’m already a die-hard Ian fan!"

"I love Ian too! He looks just like Melody!"

Melody Monroe looked at everyone’s reactions and couldn’t help but smile.

’The conversation got derailed.’

"I’ve already asked Ian, and he’s agreed. He’ll be at the press conference with me."

"Whoa! My old-lady heart is about to give out!"

"Really? Melody, will it be live-streamed? Where can we watch it?"

"I’m sure you’ll be able to find it with a simple search when it’s happening."

"Melody, you should still be at the banquet, right? Don’t waste your time chatting in here. The press conference is the day after tomorrow anyway, so we’ll get to see the real Ian then."

"Yeah, yeah, don’t waste any more time. Go enjoy the banquet."

"Okay, I’ll head out then."
