Suddenly, the door swung open. Melody Monroe stood in the doorway, with Winter Kane and Talia Mercer behind her.

"Director Hughes, are you two finished talking?" Melody Monroe asked directly.

"Yes, we’re done. We’ll leave as soon as I get changed."

"Alright." Melody Monroe looked at Felix Hughes. "Director Hughes, could you please step outside?"

Felix Hughes glanced at Rose Shaw, then walked out.

Melody Monroe walked in and stayed by Rose Shaw’s side. Talia Mercer and Winter Kane stood guard at the door.

"You don’t have to comfort me. I’m fine."

"Get changed. We’re leaving now."

Felix Hughes walked out of the room, and Mrs. Hughes immediately ran over to him.

"What’s going on? How did your talk go?"

Felix Hughes said nothing.

"She’s calling it off? She’s calling off the marriage just like that? How could she do this? What did I do wrong? What did I say wrong?" Mrs. Hughes demanded loudly.

"This is humiliating for you! Don’t you care about your reputation?"

Talia Mercer and Winter Kane immediately blocked her at the door.

"Rose Shaw! How could you do this? Do you have any idea how much our Felix loves you? You call it off just like that? Do you think this engagement party is some kind of child’s play? Give me a reason! If you don’t give me a reason today, I’ll... I’ll drop dead right here for you to see! I can’t bear this humiliation."

Hearing the shouting outside, Melody Monroe grew worried.

Rose Shaw finished changing and came out. She picked up her bag and said to Melody Monroe, "Let’s go."

Talia Mercer and Winter Kane rushed forward, and Winter Kane wrapped their arms around Mrs. Hughes to restrain her.

Mrs. Hughes was still throwing a fit.
