Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 428 - 426: Is That Something a Big Brother Should Say?
From the moment he was born, the family doted on him so much!
To this day, Mrs. Fairchild still fondly remembered when her youngest son was just a baby, lying in her arms without crying or fussing. After he was fed, he would smile at her, and she rarely ever heard him cry.
But once he learned to walk, he didn’t seem to want to be close to people anymore. He didn’t like being held, nor did he like others feeding him.
Back then, she even joked that the Soup of Forgetfulness must not have worked on him.
Otherwise, how could a child barely a year old be so little trouble?
At the time, people would tell her she didn’t know how good she had it. Her child was so well-behaved, yet she was complaining.
Who would want that kind of blessing?
What mother doesn’t want her child to call for "Mommy" all day, to cuddle up in her arms, to cry a little, to throw a small tantrum?
But theirs was far too little trouble! He decided to study abroad on his own at the age of seven! He only came back once a year, and when he did, it was just for a few days.
They never had to worry about his daily life, his studies, or, when he grew up, his career.
It was as if, aside from having the Fairchild name, he had nothing to do with the Fairchild Family at all!
Mrs. Fairchild walked over to a nearby sofa and sat down, a disappointed look on her face.
Noelle Grant went over, took Mrs. Fairchild’s hand, and comforted her softly, "Mom, I don’t think you need to worry about our third brother at all. There was a survey recently, and he was voted the man women most want to marry!"
"Is it that exaggerated?" Ethan was skeptical. "Who did that survey? Are you sure the data is authentic?"
"Look at you. Is that something an older brother should say?" Zoe Quinn shot her husband a look.
"With a guy like him? He’s got a foul temper and puts on a cold face with us all day. Who would want to be with him? To put up with his terrible mood every single day? No sane person could stand it," Master Fairchild suddenly chimed in.
Once Master Fairchild spoke, no one dared to talk back—except for Mrs. Fairchild.
...
When Melody Monroe returned to Jansburg, she saw two cars parked in the garage: a multi-purpose van and the Bentley that Evan Fairchild had given her. They had both been transported to Jansburg for her convenience.
Ten minutes later, Melody Monroe had changed her clothes and drove out.
Following the location Director Walsh had sent, Melody Monroe arrived at a very stylish Chinese restaurant.
Rose Shaw had been busy with this film for over a month, getting everything squared away, but then Lana Sheffield had pulled the funding.
Now that Melody Monroe was taking over the film, she was essentially reaping what another had sown. Aside from having to find financing herself, everything else had already been arranged by Rose Shaw.
Before she contacted Director Walsh, he had already told her that he would also try to figure something out regarding the funding.
He might even have a few investors coming today.
Director Walsh was someone Rose Shaw trusted deeply, and they had collaborated many times before.
Guided by a waiter, Melody Monroe arrived at the reserved private room.
As soon as she pushed the door open, Director Walsh immediately stood up and said enthusiastically, "Melody is here!"
The other two people in the private room also stood up.
Melody Monroe had met Director Walsh once before—a glimpse from afar during a shoot in Jansburg—so she could recognize him. But she didn’t know the other two ladies.
"We all know you, but you probably don’t know us," Director Walsh said to Melody Monroe with a smile.
He was over fifty, very thin, and looked particularly energetic.
"Yes, yes, besides you, Director Walsh, I don’t know these two ladies," Melody Monroe replied quickly.
