Chapter 418 - 416: Contract Termination

Eileen Scott, the actress under him, couldn’t even land a minor role.

The resources were all in Rose Shaw’s hands, and they were severely skewed!

That’s why Wayne Payne had stormed into the company to confront Rose Shaw.

"Wayne Payne, everything I do is for the good of the company," Rose Shaw replied coolly, setting the document aside and turning back to her work.

Wayne Payne wanted to retort, but he swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.

Rose Shaw hadn’t fought for Melody Monroe either; Melody hadn’t been cast in any roles.

"I believe I’ve made myself clear. You didn’t attend this morning’s meeting, but Rachel should have sent you the minutes. President Sterling may have invested a lot of money, but every cent must be spent wisely! Unnecessary expenses have to be cut."

"This money was invested by Mrs. Sterling!"

"Are you suggesting we need to draw such a clear line between Mrs. Sterling and President Sterling? If that’s the case, I can have the finance department recalculate everything and completely separate the company’s funds from Mrs. Sterling’s."

"I didn’t say that!" Wayne Payne denied hastily.

"We’ll be lucky if this film even breaks even in the end. And you know perfectly well whether or not Rhona Hughes has what it takes to carry a movie, Wayne Payne!"

Feeling as if he’d been struck by a heavy blow, Wayne Payne snatched the documents from the table and stormed out.

Just as Melody Monroe arrived at Stellaris with Keith Coleman, she saw Wayne Payne walking toward them, his face a mask of fury.

The moment Wayne Payne saw Keith Coleman, his anger flared.

Keith Coleman gave Wayne Payne a cold smile and deliberately walked toward him.

Terrified, Wayne Payne immediately backed away!

He knew from their last encounter that he was no match for Keith Coleman.

"Let’s go," Melody Monroe said to Keith Coleman.

She was here today to discuss terminating her contract and didn’t want any other trouble.

Keith Coleman immediately fell in step behind Melody Monroe, following her forward.

Wayne Payne watched them go, a vicious glint in his eyes.

’He’d already sent people to investigate Keith Coleman. He was sure it wouldn’t be long before he uncovered everything about him. When that time came, he’d make Keith Coleman’s life a living hell, or his name wasn’t Payne!’

Guided by Rachel, Melody Monroe found Rose Shaw’s new office.

Rose Shaw knew Melody Monroe was coming and had just finished her work. Seeing Melody appear in her office right on time, she still felt a pang of sadness.

"Rose," Melody Monroe called out.

"Have a seat. Rachel, go make some tea," Rose instructed, sitting down on the sofa.

Keith Coleman glanced down at the table.

An ashtray already held three cigarette butts.

This was a lot less than Rose Shaw usually smoked.

’Is she really quitting for Felix Hughes? Looks like it’s working, too.’ Keith Coleman felt a sourness in his heart.

"Rose, I brought the termination agreement. Please take a look." Melody Monroe took out the document and handed it to Rose Shaw.

Rose Shaw examined it carefully, her eyes lingering on the blank space for the penalty fee.

"There are no issues with this agreement. The penalty fee is five hundred thousand. Do you have any objections?"

"Five hundred thousand?" Melody Monroe could hardly believe her ears. She looked at Rose Shaw, a flash of gratitude in her eyes. It was an unbelievably small price to pay for her freedom.

"I’m sorry. I broke my promise," Rose Shaw said, full of remorse.

"No, you didn’t. What we talked about before didn’t have a time limit; it’s valid no matter when. Rose, no matter what happens to you, you still have an escape route. I am your escape route."

Rose Shaw suddenly hugged Melody Monroe. "Thank you, Melody. I’ll always remember you said that."
