Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 416 - 414: You’re Going to Be Disappointed
"Evan! Evan!" Melody immediately corrected herself.
"The name ’Evan Fairchild’ has never sounded special to me. But hearing it from you... it’s different."
Melody gazed at him, seeing her own reflection in his eyes, and the depth of his feelings for her.
Slowly, she lowered her head and pressed her lips to his. At that moment, she believed that Evan Fairchild truly loved her!
Even if this was the only moment they had, it would be enough for her to cherish for a lifetime.
Evan Fairchild was like a fuse, igniting at the slightest touch.
"Wait!" Melody stopped him, flustered.
"What’s wrong?"
"Lock the door."
Evan Fairchild understood at once. He turned and locked the door.
...
Evan Fairchild drove Melody and Ian Monroe to his villa in Jansburg.
Tommy and Claire Walsh were waiting for them at the entrance.
As soon as they saw Evan Fairchild’s car pull up, they hurried forward to greet them.
"President Fairchild, Madam, Young Master." The moment Tommy opened the car door, a pig’s head popped out to greet him.
’This must be Bunny, right?’
He hurriedly caught Bunny. "Young Master Ian, please step out."
Ian Monroe got out of the car and stared at the massive villa before him. It looked to be about the same size as their house in Rockwellburg.
"Uncle Tommy, did Mom buy this house?"
Tommy was stumped by the question. After a moment’s thought, he replied, "This is Madam’s house."
"Really?!" Ian’s heart filled with joy.
’Mom said that once she could afford a house this big, she would take me away with her. Does this mean I can live here with Mom forever!’
’Mom often films here, so we won’t have to go back to Rockwellburg!’
Evan Fairchild glanced at Ian. He knew what the boy was thinking, but he suspected Ian was about to be disappointed.
"This house also belongs to President Fairchild. It’s the joint property of the President and Madam," Tommy added.
Ian stopped in his tracks and looked at Tommy.
"It’s not Mom’s alone?"
"Is there a difference?"
"Of course there’s a difference!" Ian huffed, storming into the house.
’If it belonged to Mom, then he would have the right to keep Mr. Fairchild from living here.’
’Why is it that Evan Fairchild is always trying to get rid of me, but I can’t get rid of Mr. Fairchild!’
Melody hadn’t heard the conversation between Ian and Tommy; she was busy organizing her things.
"Madam, let me get that. You should go inside and rest," Claire Walsh said quickly as she unloaded their things from the car.
Evan Fairchild came over and took Melody’s hand. "Let’s go take a look inside."
Melody followed him into the house. The interior was exactly as she’d seen in the design renderings—the overall style fresh and elegant. The living room was simple yet grand, with a classic, antique charm.
The living room was divided into two sections, with a small space partitioned off to one side.
It was furnished with a decorative screen and a tea table, upon which sat an exquisite tea set.
"Let’s go upstairs and see our room." Evan took Melody’s hand, leading her upstairs.
Evan pushed open the door to the master bedroom, revealing a spacious room.
"This is our room."
"We’re... staying in the same room?"
Evan wrapped an arm around her waist, pinning her against the wall as he casually pushed the door shut.
"Why shouldn’t we stay together?"
"I..." Melody’s face flushed. "Ian... he still doesn’t know about us."
"Then it’s time he knew. We can’t hide it from him forever. What child doesn’t want their parents to love each other?"
’To love each other?’
Those words captivated Melody, and a wave of sweetness washed over her.
’She could see how fond Ian was of Evan Fairchild. If she told him the truth now, he probably wouldn’t be against it.’
’The only awkward part was that she had told Ian before that she didn’t like Mr. Fairchild!’
