Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 391 - 389: Just Wait for Your Ruin and Disgrace
Eileen Scott immediately walked over to Chester Johnson and shot him a vicious glare.
Chester Johnson was looking for an opportunity to make his move. Seeing Eileen Scott walk over again made him fume.
Eileen Scott hadn’t told anyone that Chester Johnson was her assistant, only that he was her bodyguard. Given his appearance, that explanation probably wouldn’t strike people as odd. The man truly had the face of a thug.
The two of them found a dark corner, where Eileen Scott unleashed a tirade. "What the hell do you think you’re doing? Don’t think I can’t touch you just because Wayne Payne sent you! If you dare disobey me again, you can get the hell out right now!"
A hint of ruthlessness flashed in Chester Johnson’s eyes.
Eileen Scott felt a pang of fear.
’This guy looks like trouble! I can’t stand the sight of him.’
’I have no idea what Wayne Payne was thinking, assigning him to me!’
"Stay out of it. I have something important to do."
"What could be so important?" Eileen Scott pressed, determined to get to the bottom of it. ’What is he hiding from me?’
Seeing how persistent Eileen Scott was, Chester Johnson leaned in closer and whispered a few words to her.
"Why didn’t you say so earlier!" A flicker of malicious glee crossed Eileen Scott’s face. "Well, go on! What are you still standing here for!"
’In the blink of an eye, she was starting to like the look of this Chester Johnson more and more!’
’Why didn’t he just tell me sooner! I was fuming for nothing.’ The thought of what was about to happen sent a thrill of wicked delight through her.
’So this is what Wayne Payne had in mind when he assigned this man to me!’
’Melody Monroe, just you wait. You’re about to be utterly disgraced!’
Chester Johnson slipped back into the crowd, looking for his chance.
A waiter weaving through the crowd noticed that Melody Monroe’s glass was empty and headed in her direction.
"Hello, I’ll have another cocktail, please," Melody Monroe said softly, placing her empty glass on his tray.
"Right away, Miss Monroe," the waiter said with a nod and a smile.
Chester Johnson saw his chance. The moment had come! As the waiter passed by again, he made his move. In the split second it took to brush past him, he dropped the drug into the glass.
The waiter glanced down at the drink, the corners of his lips curling into a faint smile. He then walked slowly toward Melody Monroe.
Eileen Scott, who had been watching this unfold from the sidelines, suddenly started walking toward Melody Monroe.
’How could she possibly miss such a dramatic scene?’
’She had to watch Melody Monroe drink it with her own eyes. Only then would she be satisfied.’
Just as Melody Monroe raised the glass, Eileen Scott suddenly appeared before her. "Melody, I haven’t even toasted you yet!"
Eileen Scott was proposing a toast to Melody Monroe?
It was common knowledge online that Eileen Scott and Melody Monroe didn’t get along. Although it was always Eileen making a scene, Melody had never responded to her provocations, aside from clarifying that she had never tried to fake an intellectual persona.
Eileen Scott’s behavior that day had thoroughly disgusted the production team. By publicly questioning the show, she had effectively dismissed everyone’s hard work and denied the authenticity of the final product.
If everything was scripted, wouldn’t it be much easier to just record the scenes and edit them later? The staff was already working themselves to the bone to produce this show!
It was more than ten times the work of any other program!
And it wasn’t just the production team; the other guests on the show were uncomfortable as well.
They were all on the same show and knew how real it was. If Eileen Scott was going to cast doubt like that, wouldn’t all of their own positive moments be called into question too?
