Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 384 - 382: Full of Envy, Jealousy, and Hate
Melody Monroe froze.
’What does he mean by that?’
Evan Fairchild suddenly took a step forward, closing in on her. In a voice only the two of them could hear, he said, "This time, I dare you to throw away my business card."
Melody Monroe’s body stiffened, and she stared at him blankly.
’He knew she’d thrown away his card?’
’So that was it. He was handing her another card now, forcing her to accept it in front of everyone.’
’How could she possibly dare to throw it away now?’
Melody Monroe had no choice but to silently put the card away.
"The roast suckling pig is quite good. You should consider it when you treat me to dinner, Miss Monroe," Evan Fairchild said, handing the piglet back to Melody Monroe.
He pulled open the car door, got in, and the car sped away.
Melody Monroe finally breathed a sigh of relief. Her heart was pounding out of her chest. Her legs went weak, and she nearly collapsed.
Fortunately, a quick-witted staff member nearby steadied her.
"Evan Fairchild appeared on the show’s livestream twice in one day! Talk about being fated!"
Melody Monroe was speechless.
Hugging Bunny, she turned around and noticed the strange way everyone was looking at her—especially the other women.
She recognized the look.
It was brimming with envy, jealousy, and hate.
This was especially true for Eileen Scott. She had rushed over after hearing the news, but the crowd was so thick she hadn’t even caught a glimpse of Evan Fairchild.
She only heard that Evan Fairchild had not only given Melody Monroe his business card but had also brazenly appeared on her team’s livestream for a full two or three minutes!
A mad jealousy for Melody Monroe consumed her.
’She had run into Evan Fairchild too, so how come she didn’t get a business card from him?!’
’What kind of damn luck did that Melody Monroe have?!’
Staring at Melody Monroe, her eyes looked like they could shoot fire. ’Isn’t it just because Melody Monroe has a pretty face? I really, really want to ruin it!’
’Let’s see who she’ll be able to seduce after that!’
Melody Monroe’s mind went blank. She was too exhausted to think.
’Evan Fairchild’s character has completely strayed from the original novel’s plot. He’s beyond saving.’
The piglet in her arms seemed to have gotten a fright as well, huddling in her embrace and not daring to move.
Melody Monroe looked down at it. "If you’d been this well-behaved from the start, none of this would’ve happened!"
...
Rose Shaw pulled out a cigarette, hesitated, then put it away.
"It’s fine, go ahead. I don’t mind," Keith Coleman said, shaking his head.
"No, I’m quitting. I promised him I would."
"’Him? Who’s that?’"
"Felix Hughes," Rose Shaw said plainly.
"Rose, you really plan on getting serious with Felix Hughes? You..." Keith Coleman’s chest tightened.
’No, he didn’t care. He didn’t care one bit.’
’He just hadn’t chased anyone new or exciting in a while, hadn’t found a new girlfriend! That had to be it!’
"Is your President Fairchild trying to make things official?"
Rose Shaw had seen the whole thing. Knowing about Evan Fairchild and Melody Monroe’s relationship, how could she not understand his intentions?
"Believe me, he wants to make it official every single day."
"Poor guy." The great President Fairchild, eating humble pie. Just how much did he love Melody Monroe? A genuine smile touched Rose Shaw’s lips.
Keith Coleman turned just in time to see that smile, and in that instant, he was utterly captivated.
’No! He had to make this woman his!’
’If he let Rose Shaw go, he would regret it for the rest of his life. He finally realized that his feelings for her were completely different from how he’d felt about any of his past girlfriends.’
