It was drizzling that morning and Alveerah was entrusted with the cleanup of the human resting in the penthouse. She had watched Madam Alove do it a few times and Alove told her she should consider it part of her training until she was fully approved by Lord Azazel to work here.

’’No mistakes or you’re dead.’’ Alove threatened while placing the fresh, dark linens and towels heavily on Alveerah.

The poor demon’s gaze watered softly as she parted her lips.

Why aren’t they nice to me?

She thought as the corners of her lips moved in pain.

Was it because I did so poorly on my first day and embarrassed myself before His Highness?

Hell, I was so scared and nervous.

She heard the mocking chuckling the fellow maids and demons gave her without shame as they watched her while performing their duties as well.

Alveerah stared down in shame.

I guess everyone has already heard how she called the ancient being of Eden by the title of Your divine and messed up so many other times.

Well, it’s not their fault they get to mock her so openly and shameless. If one of them were so unfortunate to start their first day in taking care of a human and serving the prince directly, then they will understand how many times she couldn’t breathe properly in there.

’’Well,’’ she called out softly, trying her best not to be intimidated or swayed by their unfair remarks echoing around her. This was probably her third or fourth day working in a house filled with top elite demons and beasts here. She still has a chance to redeem herself.

Yes!

’’Is his royal highness..alright?’’

More demons surrounding her laughed at her genuine concern.

’’Pfft, she probably thought she is already someone so special simply because she got to hold the prince. LOL.’’

Alveerah turned over her shoulder as they continued their mockery. Her hands around the linen tightening as she fought the urge of crying in front of them.

Now, that would have been so embarassing.

Alove’s stare was the worst. Hell, she prefared being openly mocked than to be stared down at in a strange way, feeling as though she had just committed a grave sin or crossed a line she was unworthy of crossing.

’’Don’t tell me you are already harboring some ridiculous feelings or fantasies simply because the prince collapsed in your arms?’’ Alove deadpanned.

The demons surrounding her laughed harder.

It was so humiliating to the point of being so scared of being completely overwhelmed by it.

’’W–what..?’’ she stuttered innocently, the blush on her face burned harder on her cheeks at the mere thought.

May she get struck by lightening a billion times if she dared saw the prince in that light.

Hell, I’m nowhere near worthy.

Not that great or attractive enough as that human to even be friends with him!

Alveerah gulped, swaying slightly in fear that she was probably giving the wrong impression by just being genuinely worried about someone she saw collapse right in front of her. His energy completly depleted and his body ice cold like he had suffered years of pain and anguish and two nights ago was his breaking point.

’’No, I would never—’’

’’That’s right.’’ Madam Alove said strictly while giving her a look she would live long enough to remember.

’’Don’t you dare or I am sending you back home to Hell to continue begging on the streets while being tossed around like a whore by the demons of the bottomless pit.’’

Most demons covered their mouth as the Madame said something so awful yet true to her.

Alveerah only felt small and smaller before them. This place felt so huge, so strict, so mighty she feared she would never be enough to work here.

Her eyes lowered once more, while nodding in understanding. Her throat soar in pain at her background and shameful past.

’’Treat the human with extra care, like some fragile jade where each scar you make on it could represent how many days you have left in this place.’’

Madam Alove dumped more clean wares on her and ordered her to get lost immediately.

’’Yes, Madam,’’ After receiving her duties politely, Alveerah exited the room quickly, knowing the cheers and laughter would only get loud and high the moment she was gone.

The young demon of just a few thousand years old moved briskly on the polished, golden marble floors of the third floor. The place was enormous. She was determined to work harder and prove herself until she was worthy enough to use the staff elevators.

She sighed as she reached the bottom of the long, golden staircase that stretched so far up she would have to have the neck a hundred times as long as the one of giraffes to even see half of the stairs.

One thing she loved was how every step made the staircase shimmer beneath her feet. It was so beautiful with all the amount of diamonds and earthly minerals they used to polish it with. It makes it much fun as she climb all the way to the penthouse and get things done. She was probably the only demon in this building that was yet to be allowed to use the elevators. So, it was mainly quiet and peaceful as she moved up and down on it.

It was like a place made just for her and her alone.

After almost an hour, she finally reached the top of it and moved in to the most beautiful and sophisticated place in the whole of the demon’s tower here on earth.

She paused at the lovely view of the human world and gave a beuatiful smile of genuine admiration.

If only she was one of those top senior staff that were allowed to wander off freely and explore this beautiful world as a demon...

Alveerah touched the glass as she dreamed about it. Feeling the pressure and the noise of the hustle and bustle of LA from miles away. One of her many gifts as a demon that no one knows about—or maybe it had been obvious since the beginning but no one really cared about the gifts she had.

She removed her hands and smiled again.

I’ll just have to work harder here so when the time comes I will finally be able to move freely...

And maybe one day, will find a human lover too that I will take good care of and love with all my heart.

We would find a nice place to live here and I will take good care of him or her and we would live happily for life.

Alveerah moved and stepped inside the luxurious residence of the prince of hell. She noticed how some demons had already come before her to make this place shine even more and look worthy of one of the most powerful beings in the universe.

She moved freely, placing the fresh linens with her on one of the couches and moved toward the room to check on the human she had been in charge of first before continuing with her other duties.

She knocked.

Then paused.

’’...Why am I knocking?’’

The human was unconscious.

There was no way she could say, ’’Come in,’’ was there?

She shook her head and opened the doors of the room before stepping in quickly. Alveerah turned to ensure the door was properly locked behind her. She turned around and frowned at how dark everywhere was...this was not a good place for a patient to recover properly in.

She needs fresh air and much of sunlight.

She turned to one of the large windows and pulled the curtains apart to let more light in.

Corrine flinched at the sudden exposure of light, bringing one of her hand quickly to her face.

Alveerah felt bad when there was even limited light because of the rain that had been falling quite a lot around here. It made her wonder if the gloomy sky and thunder was a normal thing on earth. She sighed again, feeling bad for the human.

She would have to make do with this amount of light—-

’’Ah!’’

Alveerah jumped in shock, her heart racing when the human was already awake, seated uprightly on the bed, looking tired while feeling uncomfortable by the little light she was exposed to.

It took Alveerah five—no, several long seconds to recover from the shock of her sudden recovery.

Oh, no. For how long has she been awake for without anyone here to assist or help her understand her current situation?

Alveerah stiffened the more, feeling her anxiety creeping in as she stared at the mortal whose lovely dark green gaze peeked carefully from the space between her fingers.

Oh my hell, she is so beautiful and adorable.

No wonder the prince is so madly obsessed with her.

Too bad he was too sick to witness her recovery.

Alveerah straighted up, suddenly feeling encouraged to take full responsibility of the situation.

Don’t worry, your highness. I understand how important she is to you to your existence. You have me here to take good care of her and make her feel at home while taking care of her every need for you until you are well enough to be with her again.

Yes.

Alveerah nodded, stepping forward bravely toward the human.
