’’Yes, the competition ends in five days...’’

Berry paused as she flipped through the pages of the completed work that Grim just handed her. A frown of confusion on her face as she read through the words of the novel he had penned down in several books and compiled together. She flipped through the pages fast enough until she reached the last pages. Her eyes almost popped out of their socket when she saw the story having an ending.

She blinked. Not believing it.

’’Wow. The script even has an ending. How did you even manage to...?’’

Berry paused, thinking it would have been impossible before rephrasing her question with.

’’Have you been secretly writing this story the entire time since we got the grey-colored folder from Marcus?’’ She said, her voice lowering in a whisper as she spoke to Grim.

Grim’s eyes wandered around a bit. He was dressed smartly in a dark suit with gold touch along the collars and sleeves. A matching dark hand glove that shone richly in the well lit place pampered his fingers. His long hair was neatly brushed and tied into a ponytail. A few strands of his braided hair fell over his face as his lips moved in thought, wondering how to answer her correctly without freaking her out.

Then, with a small smile, one that showed his lovely dimples, the serpent nodded down at her. Not meaning to be deceitful, he didn’t want his best friend to become suspicious if he told her it had taken him only a day and a half of sleepless nights to finish an entire script. He was certain it would propel his love to the top and mark the beginning of her breakthrough and comeback in the entertainment industry.

Berry stood before him with her mouth wide agape in amazement. She was dressed smartly in dark pants and matching blazers, with a soft white inner top. Her hair brushed back into a tight bun as she stared at this enigma...no, genius!

Who knew the newbie could be this talented enough to write a whole story all by himself without needing any help.

’’Wow,’’ she said again, while crossing her hands and shaking her head at him.

’’I am not really as talented as her but I figured I can contribute in a way...’’ he smiled, feeling too humble and he loved the feeling.

’’She is not in a position to write one and make it towards the deadline. So, I thought, why not be romantic enough and help her win anyway I can.’’

Berry smiled at him. Her eyes easing into one of teases.

’’Ohhhh, look at you. You can as well as be her secret admirer already, hmm?’’

Grim blushed, feeling more humbled as he brought his hands together before him.

’’Or do you prefer the term, boyfriend?’’ She wiggled her eyebrow in a way that made Grim smile more.

’’Anyways, you look modern and stylish enough to know how to type rather than write a story with a book and pen,’’ she said while forcing the book inside her bag.

She turned to him once the story was safely in it and zipped inside.

’’You are giving me this victorian or is it the medieval vibes I call it?’’

Grim thought about it briefly and shrugged his shoulders at her. His deep brown eyes fell upon her in admiration.

’’Though it is very romantic. If you improve, who knows? You might just become our boss’s type someday.’’

’’Stylie!!’’

The smile fell from Grim’s face when both of them turned to their left. They saw Stylie and Lin arguing at the foot of one of the golden elevators. It was very early in the morning that day. And most demons were yet to be moving about and starting their day.

Grim invited them the moment he was finished with the story for the contest submission. After writing his bestseller and one he was sure was going to grab the attention of several judges and the ones in charge of the contest, he called Berry to come over and help with the submission process before it was too late.

But what he didn’t expect was these two troubles to tag along and start an argument between themselves over something.

His gaze narrowed on the female with blonde hair. The one that dared and smartly figured out a way to lead him out of the room and give his Anais enough change to escape and land herself into trouble with one of the rats in his building.

’’What is wrong with you?’’ Lin snapped again as he tried to pull her away from the elevator.

Stylie was acting crazy and restless. It startled Berry once again as she stared at both of them in concern.

She thought she told them to wait for her in the car until she got back.

Seriously, what has possessed their most reserved intern in the team to be behaving this way.

’’Let...go! Let go of my hands! Argh!’’

Lin couldn’t believe it. His grip around her wrist was tight and firm as he tried to stop her from calling down one of the elevators. It wasn’t simple courtesy at all for them to be behaving this way in another person’s home. Without even being invited in the first place.

’’Are you crazy? You are...breaking in...’’ Lin said through clenched teeth as he tried to grab her waist and pull her from the elevator. That only infuriated the blonde haired intern the more.

’’...into somebody else’s place. Comport yourself!’’

’’Let me go. I am going in and getting Boss out of this place no matter what!’’ She said in-between her struggle as Lin tried to keep her in place.

’’If you two are too foolish to see what he is doing to her...then don’t blame or stop me from acting based on my instincts! Boss!!!’’

She yelled so loudly on top of her voice, it terrified Lin.

’’Boss!! Boss!!! Can you hear me? I am here to save you from this mons—-’’ the rest of her words were muffled when Lin shut her up immediately by placing a hand over her mouth. The struggle between them continued and it embarrassed Berry so much to see them behaving like kids in a place like this.
