Chapter 337 -170: Officially Adopting the Canary
He picked one at random and had it sent to his company.
After he bought insurance and got a temporary plate, it was time for the car delivery ceremony.
“Stand over there. I’m going to take a video of you.”
Chen Mo turned on his action camera, patted her slender waist, and told her with a smile to stand by the front of the car and pose.
“Thank you, honey~”
Shen Qingying hadn’t expected Chen Mo to let her be the one to experience the delivery ceremony, and she was so delighted that she immediately kissed him on the cheek.
The sales staff watched the scene unfold in silence, long accustomed to such displays.
They’d seen it all before: tycoons bringing their wives, girlfriends, mistresses, and goddaughters to pick up their new cars.
However, it was the first time they’d seen one who was this stunning.
She held the bouquet from the dealership, standing with perfect posture in front of the Panamera. Her beautiful, limpid eyes were fixed on Chen Mo as he filmed her.
Old Liu silently moved the display stand with the “Congratulations, Mr. Chen” sign on it out of frame.
POP! POP! POP!
As the salespeople twisted the party poppers, colorful streamers and confetti burst into the air.
With a synchronized chorus of congratulations to Chen Mo on his new car, the brief delivery ceremony came to an end.
“Mr. Chen, Manager Zhou is a bit busy today and isn’t at the dealership.”
“But he left specific instructions to give you several complimentary maintenance services and a large gift package.”
After the handover, Old Liu brought over a large gift package, placed it in the Panamera’s trunk, and reiterated the offer for complimentary maintenance.
“Then please thank Manager Zhou for me.”
Chen Mo smiled and nodded in response.
The cost of maintaining a Panamera was negligible to him now, but it was the thought that counted, so he still offered his thanks.
Then, Old Liu directed his staff to tidy up the delivery area and helped drive the new car out, parking it next to Chen Mo’s 911.
“The registration and title will be processed in a couple of days. I’ll have them delivered to your company,” Old Liu added, remembering the paperwork.
“Alright. Thanks for the trouble.”
“It’s no trouble at all, Mr. Chen. You’re too kind.”
With the delivery ceremony over, Old Liu breathed a sigh of relief.
Nothing had gone wrong this time, and the knot of anxiety in his chest finally loosened.
After a few more pleasantries with Chen Mo, he returned to the dealership to get back to work.
Only Chen Mo and Shen Qingying were left in the parking lot.
“Where to?”
Chen Mo asked with a slight, suggestive smile.
“I want to go to the Carlton. I want to truly stay in the presidential suite for once.”
Shen Qingying understood his implication. This time, she didn’t refuse, meeting his gaze directly as she spoke.
She had been to the presidential suite at the Carlton once before, but that was just to pool money for a room to take photos, all to cultivate the image of a fake socialite.
After taking her photos and using up her allotted time, she had to leave.
Because the next person’s time slot was up, and she couldn’t overstay.
This time, she wanted to truly stay in the presidential suite at the Carlton—the kind of stay where the room was hers, and hers alone, for a full 24 hours.
She felt that, for a Canary, making her debut in the Carlton’s presidential suite would be an event worth remembering.
“Alright.”
Hearing this, Chen Mo raised an eyebrow and agreed to her request.
He could roughly guess what Shen Qingying was thinking.
Truly staying in the presidential suite was, for her, the beginning of her life as a real socialite.
Because fake socialites could only pool their money for a room and were bound by time limits.
Real socialites, however, didn’t have to share; they just booked the room outright.
And they could stay as long as they wanted, right up until checkout.
“Then you can drive the car over yourself. I’ll wait for you in the hotel’s underground garage.”
“Drive slowly and be careful.”
Chen Mo handed her the Panamera’s keys, patting her shapely butt with a grin.
“Mm-hmm.”
Shen Qingying nodded, her heart a mix of excitement and nervousness.
She was excited because she could finally drive the luxury car Chen Mo had gotten for her—a car that far exceeded her wildest expectations.
She was nervous because she had very little driving experience, and her skills were average at best.
She wasn’t at all confident about getting behind the wheel of a luxury car worth over a million.
If she accidentally scratched or dented it, she would be devastated, even if Chen Mo wasn’t.
Chen Mo, however, wasn’t worried. His mindset was completely different now.
To him now, a car was just a tool for transportation.
As long as she was okay, any dings or scratches on the car could just be fixed. It was nothing to worry about.
Besides, he’d bought the car for her to drive.
Everyone starts out as a beginner; she just needed to practice.
He got into his 911, started the engine, and stepped on the gas, driving away from the dealership.
Watching Chen Mo drive off, Shen Qingying took a deep breath, opened the driver’s side door, and slid inside.
The salesperson had shown her how everything worked, so she pressed the start button and slowly eased her foot onto the accelerator.
The car moved slowly, but it pulled away from the dealership smoothly and started heading toward the Carlton Hotel.
…
「The Carlton Hotel’s underground garage.」
Chen Mo had lost count of how many times he’d been here.
After parking the car, he retrieved two copies of an agreement from the passenger seat.
The contents of the two agreements were identical.
It was the agreement for his relationship with Shen Qingying, containing the terms they had discussed initially.
For instance, it stipulated her monthly allowance and the financial support she would receive if she were to have his child.
It also detailed the severance payment he would provide if he chose to end the relationship, with the amount calculated based on its duration.
The agreement also included the grant for her use of the residence and the vehicle.
As soon as she signed this agreement, Shen Qingying would officially be his Canary—the woman he kept.
Of course, that meant he had to provide her with a lavish lifestyle.
It was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
For him now, the expense of keeping this Canary was a drop in the bucket.
What he made in the stock market in a single day was enough to support her for several years.
‘As for whether it was worth it… well, based on her looks and physical assets, it definitely was.’
