The Viltrumite Across the Worlds
Chapter 328: The Fast-Track Spider-Man 3
After Jovian had enjoyed some private time with Diana, an enormous doorway suddenly appeared before him.
Without giving it much thought, Jovian walked straight through.
The Marvel Universe.
BOOM!
With a tremendous roar, it seemed as though the Earth itself was about to be torn apart.
BOOM!
Whatever had nearly ripped the planet apart suddenly vanished and crashed deep beneath the Earth’s surface.
"It’s been a long time."
"I never expected you to become this powerful..."
A Celestial appeared in outer space above Earth. Clad from head to toe in massive armor, he looked at Jovian and greeted him.
"Just as we agreed back then, I’ve come to see you."
Jovian looked at the Celestial and spoke softly.
"I always knew this day would come..."
The Celestial turned and led Jovian into the distance.
BOOM!
Space before them suddenly shattered into countless fragments.
Neither the Celestial nor Jovian said anything. They simply stepped through the fractured space.
WHOOSH!
As the two disappeared, space restored itself, returning to its original state.
Back on Earth...
"Can someone tell me what the hell just happened out there?!"
Nick Fury raised an eyebrow as he stared at the photographs printed across the newspapers.
"..."
The agents under his command exchanged glances, but ultimately said nothing.
Because in truth, none of them had any idea what had just happened to the planet.
Meanwhile, the Celestial continued leading the way while Jovian followed behind him.
"I’ll admit, I never thought you’d actually make it this far."
"I thought your ultimate achievements would only reach..."
"Never mind. Your existence has exceeded every expectation I had."
The Celestial sounded genuinely impressed. Jovian’s current strength had earned his acknowledgment.
"I always knew I’d reach this point someday."
"It just happened much faster than I expected."
Jovian was perfectly calm about it.
He was telling the truth. From the moment he awakened his cheat ability, he’d known he would eventually become powerful.
If someone had a cheat and still couldn’t become strong, that would just be embarrassing.
"You’re still as confident as ever..."
"All right. We’re here."
The Celestial and Jovian continued talking until they eventually arrived in front of a bar.
The Celestial pushed open the door and motioned for Jovian to follow him inside.
Once they entered, Jovian saw a collection of beings whose names ordinary mortals could scarcely comprehend sitting around the bar and drinking.
There were armored Celestials who looked almost mechanical, as well as towering, bald Watchers whose eyes glowed with white light.
Celestials and Watchers normally had little love for each other, yet here they sat peacefully together, drinking in silence.
"Welcome to my bar."
While Jovian was studying everyone inside, the bartender approached him with a faint smile.
"Hello..."
Jovian’s expression immediately became serious when he looked at the bartender.
He didn’t dare underestimate him in the slightest.
Because the unassuming bartender standing before him was the Fulcrum, one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel cosmos.
"Drinks are on me today."
"Whatever you want, have as much as you’d like."
The Fulcrum smiled after hearing Jovian’s polite greeting.
He liked courteous guests, so he decided to reward this one with a drink.
"Thanks."
Jovian walked farther into the Vestibule.
"This is a place where people like us can rest."
"Whether you’re a god or a mortal, when you’re tired, you can put your work aside for a while and come here for a drink."
"Once you’ve rested enough, you can return to your duties. Don’t worry, nobody will hold it against you for coming here."
The Fulcrum explained the purpose of the bar.
It was a resting place for those who had grown weary.
"This place really is nice..."
"I like it here."
Jovian nodded.
He genuinely liked the Vestibule because it was one of the rare places where he could experience true tranquility.
"You like it?"
"Wonderful!"
"Then perhaps we can discuss something."
"I’ve been rather busy lately, and there are a few things I need to take care of."
"If you like this place so much, I could hand it over to you."
"While I’m away, why don’t you help keep the bar running?"
"What do you think?"
The Fulcrum smiled brightly as he spoke.
"Me?!"
Jovian froze.
His eyes instinctively shifted toward the Celestial who had fallen asleep beside the counter.
"I know what you’re thinking."
"Everyone has their own purpose. Celestials are no exception."
"Perhaps his entire purpose was simply to bring you here."
The Fulcrum smiled at Jovian’s startled expression.
"..."
Jovian fell silent.
The Fulcrum’s words had given him an entirely new perspective.
"If you’re really willing to let me, then I’d like to give it a try."
After thinking about it for a moment, Jovian accepted.
"Excellent! Then I’ll give you a little something."
The Fulcrum gently patted Jovian on the shoulder.
Then he placed a cocktail in Jovian’s hand.
"..."
Jovian stared silently at the drink for a moment before downing it in one gulp.
With his current level of power, he shouldn’t even have been capable of getting dizzy anymore.
Yet the moment Jovian drank the cocktail, his head began to swim.
He actually felt drunk.
"A drink that can get a god drunk?"
Jovian stared suspiciously at the glass.
The cocktail tasted little stronger than juice, yet its kick was incredible.
"Drink up, drink up!"
The Fulcrum smiled at the visibly tipsy Jovian.
He liked guests who could drink.
"Gulp, gulp, gulp..."
For some reason, after hearing the Fulcrum’s encouragement, Jovian started knocking back drink after drink.
He had no idea how much time passed.
When Jovian finally opened his eyes again, he found himself lying on a barren planet.
"My head is killing me..."
Jovian rubbed his head.
But the instant he raised his hand, he froze.
That wasn’t his hand at all.
It was an enormous mechanical arm.
"What the..."
Confused, Jovian immediately performed a complete scan of himself.
When the results appeared, he finally saw what he looked like.
He had become a colossal armored being with several pairs of eyes.
"How the hell did I become a Celestial?!"
Jovian stared at his reflection in disbelief.
"Could it be..."
Jovian fell into thought.
Then he suddenly remembered.
The Fulcrum had given him an absurd amount of alcohol and had also said that he would give Jovian a gift.
"Don’t tell me this is the gift he was talking about..."
Jovian muttered to himself.
At least now he had some idea of what had happened to him.
"So what should I do now?"
Jovian pondered the question.
"Maybe I should go visit some old friends."
Having made up his mind, Jovian instantly transformed back into an ordinary human appearance and flew toward Earth.
Meanwhile, on Earth...
"Hmm?!"
Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum, Doctor Strange suddenly opened his eyes.
"I can sense an enormous power approaching Earth."
"I wonder if I’m imagining things..."
Doctor Strange muttered to himself.
He could feel an unimaginably powerful presence descending toward Earth.
Its power was terrifying.
Even he would be incapable of stopping it.
BOOM!
Just as Doctor Strange attempted to communicate with the approaching presence, its owner had already descended from the sky and appeared directly in front of him.
"Long time no see, Doctor."
"Still studying magic?"
The man looked at Doctor Strange, who was sitting cross-legged in midair.
"You..."
Doctor Strange froze when he saw him.
A number of interesting memories resurfaced in his mind.
"I can’t believe it’s you..."
"You’re still in this universe?"
Doctor Strange gently floated over to Jovian and looked him up and down.
"Are you still the Sorcerer Supreme?"
Jovian looked at Doctor Strange and returned the question.
"Uh... That’s actually a very interesting question. I’d really like to answer it, but..."
Doctor Strange suddenly looked rather embarrassed.
HUM!
Just as Strange was struggling to figure out how to answer, a portal suddenly opened inside the room.
A plainly dressed, heavyset man stepped through.
"He’s not Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme anymore. Thanos killed him, so he was out of commission for years. I’m Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme now."
Wong looked at Jovian as he spoke.
"Oh. That’s unfortunate."
Jovian smiled.
"Uh..."
Doctor Strange fell silent.
He wanted to argue, but unfortunately, Wong was telling the truth.
"Anyway, even if I’m not the Sorcerer Supreme anymore, I’m still the most powerful sorcerer on Earth!"
After thinking for a moment, Doctor Strange hastily added that final sentence.
"I know."
Jovian smiled.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
While Jovian and Doctor Strange were chatting, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
"Looks like you’ve got visitors."
Jovian seemed to have already seen who was standing outside.
"I really hope they’re visitors and not trouble."
Doctor Strange sighed.
He seemed to have already sensed something as well.
With a helpless expression, Strange opened the doors of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Three teenagers immediately walked inside.
"Um, Doctor! I need your help!"
The boy who entered glanced around the room, spotted Doctor Strange, and hurried over to him.
"What’s wrong?"
Doctor Strange straightened slightly.
With Jovian standing nearby, he didn’t want to embarrass himself.
He intended to solve the boy’s problem effortlessly.
It was also an opportunity to demonstrate his abilities.
"Well, the thing is..."
"Doctor, my identity was exposed!"
"I want everyone in the world to forget my secret identity!"
The boy looked pleadingly at Doctor Strange.
"That could be troublesome..."
"But fine. I can do it."
Doctor Strange nodded.
It was just large-scale memory alteration.
He could handle that.
"You’re Spider-Man, right?"
Jovian suddenly looked at the boy.
"Yeah!"
The boy nodded at first, but then froze when he looked at Jovian’s face.
After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Have we met somewhere before, sir?"
"Probably when we were fighting Thanos."
Jovian answered casually.
"Oh my God! I remember you! You’re the guy who beat the crap out of Thanos!"
The boy, Peter Parker, stared at Jovian in astonishment.
"So your identity is causing you trouble, right?"
Jovian continued.
"Yeah. My identity has caused problems for a lot of people..."
Peter looked helpless.
He hadn’t wanted things to end up this way, but his exposed identity had undeniably become a burden.
"All right."
After hearing Peter’s explanation, Jovian snapped his fingers.
SNAP!
"Now nobody knows you’re Spider-Man."
Jovian looked at the teenager.
"You said I’m who?"
Peter Parker stared at Jovian in confusion.
"Where am I?!"
"How did I even get here?"
"Oh, crap! I still need to get ready for college applications!"
"Ned, MJ! Come on! We need to go!"
Peter immediately dragged his two friends out of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
"Uh..."
Doctor Strange clutched his head as a wave of pain struck him.
He could feel the alteration Jovian’s snap had imposed upon reality itself.
After a while, Strange finally recovered.
He stared at Jovian.
"Hey! Wasn’t that a little extreme?! You just erased Spider-Man’s entire existence from everyone’s memories!"
"Isn’t that the life the kid wanted?"
Jovian asked.
"That’s..."
Doctor Strange struggled for words.
"Whatever. I’ll deal with the rest myself."
Strange sighed helplessly.
As for asking Jovian to undo everything, Doctor Strange didn’t dare say it.
Jovian had already caused this much chaos while trying to help Peter Parker.
If Strange asked Jovian to restore everyone’s knowledge that Peter Parker was Spider-Man, there was no telling what kind of madness would happen to the universe next.
"..."
Jovian said nothing.
"Actually, there’s another way to solve this."
Jovian raised his hand and snapped his fingers again.
SNAP!
At Jovian’s current level, he no longer needed the Infinity Gauntlet to accomplish anything the Infinity Gauntlet could do.
"..."
Doctor Strange froze when Jovian snapped his fingers for a second time.
Then his expression changed dramatically.
He immediately rushed outside and looked around.
There wasn’t a single ordinary pedestrian left on the streets.
Instead, countless people across the entire world were now dressed in red Spider-Man suits, swinging through the sky.
"This is just fantastic."
Doctor Strange stared at the world before him with his mouth hanging open.
