The Viltrumite Across the Worlds

Chapter 324: Jovian vs. Lordgenome

  • Next Chapter

"We are..."

"The Four Supreme Generals serving the great Spiral King!"

"Foolish humans, kneel before us at once!"

The four warriors known as the strongest servants under the Spiral King had gathered before Jovian and the others, shouting arrogantly.

"You don't look very peaceful."

With his cloak draped over his shoulders, Jovian regarded the powerful enemies before him with an indifferent expression.

"Let's go!"

Kamina roared and charged forward first in his mech.

"Kamina, wait for me!"

Simon immediately followed after him.

"Hey! Aren't you two being a little too reckless?! There are four of them!"

Seeing Kamina and Simon charge straight in, Yoko sighed helplessly and could only do her best to support the two idiots.

"Hehehe..."

"Now you're all alone."

"Then allow me to personally deal with you."

The last of the Four Supreme Generals to remain behind was Adiane, a beautiful woman with a scorpion-like tail. She turned her attention toward Jovian.

"Attacking me is the biggest mistake you could have made."

Jovian opened his eyes.

The sight of those spiral-shaped pupils, formed from ring after ring, sent a chill through anyone who looked at them.

In an instant, Adiane felt as though her soul had abandoned her body.

"Could it be..."

Adiane suddenly remembered what the Beastman general Viral had told her.

If the Spiral King ever ordered her to confront Jovian's group, she absolutely shouldn't go.

This enemy wasn't someone they could handle.

At the time, Adiane hadn't believed him.

Then she met Jovian.

The instant Jovian opened those eyes, Adiane knew she had been wrong.

Viral had been right.

Jovian was far beyond anything they could deal with.

"Those eyes! Those eyes are exactly like the Spiral King's!"

Adiane screamed.

The next second, Jovian raised one hand.

A thunderous explosion erupted, and Adiane vanished from the world along with her Gunmen.

"..."

After destroying the Gunmen before him, Jovian simply sat down and quietly waited for the hunt to end.

The remaining three Supreme Generals of the Spiral King fought Kamina, Simon, and Yoko.

Despite Kamina's group possessing far superior mechs, the Spiral King's three Supreme Generals still held an overwhelming advantage.

That's right.

Even though the machines piloted by Kamina, Simon, and Yoko were considerably stronger than those of the three Supreme Generals, they were still being suppressed.

And there was only one reason.

Simon was fighting far too timidly.

"Simon, cowardice will never make you stronger."

Jovian looked toward the hesitant Simon and spoke sternly.

"But... I'm scared!"

Simon froze when Jovian's voice suddenly reached his ears, then answered anxiously.

"Simon, there's nothing for you to fear. Show them who you are."

Jovian spoke calmly.

"Show them who I am?!"

Simon froze for a moment.

Then his expression gradually became serious.

"I'm Simon of Team Gurren!"

"Don't underestimate me, you bastards!"

"Who the hell do you think I am?!"

Those few shouted words were enough to ignite a brilliant light in Simon's eyes.

The Core Drill hanging from his chest began to shine.

An immense torrent of Spiral Power erupted from within him.

"My drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!"

"Remember that!"

Simon roared and thrust his drill toward the enemy before him.

WHIRRR!

The right arm of Simon's mech began rotating at incredible speed, transforming into a gigantic drill.

It tore straight through the enemy's defenses and smashed through the opposing Gunmen.

"Impossible..."

"How did you suddenly become so powerful?!"

Guame, one of the Four Supreme Generals, stared in disbelief as his defenses became completely useless.

"Great Spiral King! Will your long-held wish truly come to pass?!"

Guame shouted as his body suddenly began to change.

Then he exploded.

BOOM!

His entire body disappeared into an endless cloud of smoke and debris.

"What?! Guame was defeated?!"

The two remaining Supreme Generals were stunned that Guame had been eliminated so quickly.

WHOOSH!

At the exact moment their attention wavered, a laser shot into the sky and pierced straight through the flying Supreme General.

"AAAAAH!"

Cytomander screamed as he plummeted toward the ground.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The instant Yoko saw Cytomander fall from the sky, she fired several consecutive shots into his mech and finished him off.

"You're the last one!"

"Submit before my fighting spirit!"

Kamina turned toward the final Supreme General and unleashed his full momentum.

He overwhelmed the enemy with ease.

BOOM!

With another deafening explosion, all four Supreme Generals had been defeated.

"So this is Spiral Power?"

Standing in the desert, Jovian could feel it clearly.

When Simon unleashed that astonishing burst of strength, the Spiral Power within him seemed to resonate with everyone around him, causing the Spiral Power within the others to surge as well.

"Simon..."

Jovian gave Simon a long look.

The boy's potential was almost impossible to measure.

"Now there's only one final battle left!"

Kamina leaped out of his mech and stared toward the distant sun.

He could feel that their journey was nearing its climax.

"Yeah..."

Jovian nodded lightly without saying anything else.

Over the next several days, Jovian and the others continued advancing.

They defeated several more waves of Beastmen, passed through countless settlements oppressed and enslaved by them, and encountered many other people who had also risen up to fight the Beastmen.

By the time Jovian's group reached the base of the Spiral King's fortress, an enormous crowd had already gathered.

Everyone who had come here shared one goal.

Defeat the Spiral King.

Allow those who had been oppressed and enslaved to rise up at last.

BOOM!

As everyone stood before the fortress, a bald man with a thick beard covering his chin and both sides of his jaw descended from the sky.

He wore a long white robe.

The instant he arrived, a terrifying aura erupted from his body, pressing down so heavily upon the people around Jovian that they could barely breathe.

"You're all wrong!"

"You have absolutely no idea what you're doing!"

"Do you understand how foolish and ridiculous this is?!"

"You stand here now because you truly believe you can defeat me?!"

"Hahahahaha!"

"Absurd!"

Light flashed through the man's eyes.

The next second, a pitch-black mech materialized out of thin air, and the man entered its cockpit.

"Then let me see it!"

"Let me see just how far all of you can go!"

The man instantly appeared before Kamina.

With a single knife-hand strike, he sliced Kamina's mech cleanly in half.

BOOM!

The mech exploded.

"KAMINA!"

Simon stared at the explosion, his eyes trembling violently as his mind went blank.

"I'll defeat you!"

Simon roared and charged into battle against the man in his own mech.

"Such tremendous Spiral Power. Is this what you're relying on?!"

Lordgenome froze when he sensed the Spiral Power within Simon.

For a moment, he saw a reflection of his former self in the boy.

"Everyone, attack together! Avenge Kamina!"

The remaining mechs swarmed forward, believing they could defeat Lordgenome through sheer numbers.

"If numbers were enough to defeat me, then I wouldn't be the Spiral King!"

Lordgenome roared.

His Spiral Power surged violently.

Countless black tendrils erupted from his body and destroyed the surrounding mechs.

"LORDGENOME!"

Taking advantage of the moment when the Spiral King was attacking everyone else, Simon shouted his name and produced an enormous drill.

He drove it straight through Lordgenome's mech.

"Fool!"

Lordgenome's expression turned cold when Simon's drill pierced through his mech and came rushing toward him.

He threw a punch.

BOOM!

In an instant, Simon's drill exploded along with the mech's entire right arm.

"Pathetic!"

Lordgenome jumped out of his cockpit.

Spiral Power burned around his body like raging flames as he walked toward Simon one step at a time.

"Don't tell me you thought I needed to rely on a mech."

"I only used one because all of you were using them!"

"Even without a mech, my strength is far beyond yours!"

Lordgenome walked up to Simon's machine and punched it.

CRASH!

In an instant, every section of Simon's mech apart from its smallest Gunmen shattered into countless fragments and rained down like falling water.

"You've lost too."

Lordgenome slowly approached Simon.

The overwhelming pressure radiating from him was so intense that Simon felt as though the blood in his veins was freezing.

"..."

That was when Jovian, who had remained silent until now, finally moved.

He stepped directly in front of Lordgenome and blocked his path.

"Hmm?!"

Lordgenome stared wide-eyed at Jovian.

"Your eyes..."

Lordgenome froze.

Jovian's eyes were just like his own, filled with countless concentric spiral rings.

BOOM!

Before Lordgenome could think any further, Jovian's right fist tore through the air and slammed violently into his face.

"Urgh..."

Lordgenome froze for an instant as he registered the sensation of a fist striking his face.

Then he was launched backward.

BOOM!

His body smashed straight through the fortress behind him.

"How many years has it been since someone actually managed to hit me?!"

Lordgenome lay amid the ruins, thinking.

It had happened so long ago that he could no longer remember.

"Hahahaha..."

Lordgenome laughed and sat up from the wreckage.

He gently touched his bruised cheek and wiped away the blood flowing from his nose.

His grin grew wider and wider.

"You really are interesting!"

Lordgenome instantly disappeared from the ruins and reappeared before Jovian.

Heat surged around his wrist as he threw a punch.

BAM!

The fist that could have obliterated everything in its path was stopped by Jovian with one hand.

Jovian could feel every muscle throughout his right arm aching slightly beneath the force of Lordgenome's blow.

"Hahaha..."

Jovian laughed.

He could no longer remember how long it had been since he had actually felt pain.

"RAAAH!"

Laughing wildly, Jovian drove a fist into Lordgenome's stomach.

BOOM!

Lordgenome grunted softly before immediately countering with a punch to Jovian's abdomen.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The two moved faster and faster.

Their attacks became increasingly ferocious until they were fighting at relativistic speeds.

Every punch either of them threw carried enough power to destroy a galaxy.

If the two hadn't been controlling their strength with extraordinary precision, everything around them would already have been erased from existence.

"Uh..."

Simon stared dumbfounded at Jovian and Lordgenome as they exchanged blows.

To his eyes, both men had already vanished.

All he could see were two streaks of light racing through the cosmos.

Countless planets were destroyed wherever the two passed.

The battle between the two men continued for ten full days and nights before they finally stopped.

"That bastard's eyes may have all been wiped out for now, but sooner or later he'll notice us!"

"Maybe it'll happen in a few months, maybe a few years, or maybe in the very next second!"

"When that bastard notices the changes on Earth and launches his full-scale attack, do you really think you can stop him by yourself?!"

Lordgenome stared coldly at Jovian.

"That's none of your concern."

Jovian answered just as coldly.

"Hmph! Arrogant bastard!"

"I was just as confident before I encountered that monster!"

"But in the end, I was the only one who returned from the expedition!"

Lordgenome sneered after hearing Jovian's answer.

"Rest now, Spiral King."

"I'll resurrect you for the next expedition."

A shining drill appeared in Jovian's hand.

"A coward who resorts to weapons..."

"Even if you resurrect me, I won't help you."

Lordgenome crossed his arms over his chest.

After his brutal battle with Jovian, every trace of clothing on his body had long since been destroyed, leaving his spiral-shaped chest hair completely exposed as he glared coldly at Jovian.

"You'll help me."

The drill in Jovian's hand erupted with light.

It pierced straight through Lordgenome's body.

BAM!

Jovian gave the drill a slight twist.

Lordgenome's entire body instantly exploded, leaving behind nothing but his head, its eyes still glowing with Spiral Power.

Jovian casually created a containment cage and placed Lordgenome's head inside it.

"The battle is over."

Jovian looked coldly at the surviving members of Team Dai-Gurren, who lay exhausted across the ground.

The sun slowly rose above the horizon, heralding the beginning of a new day.

Or perhaps...

The beginning of an even greater crisis.

Jovian stood silently in the desert and gazed toward the sky.

He had completely absorbed the Spiral King's power.

But it still wasn't enough.

What Jovian truly wanted was the Anti-Spiral's immense power, the power capable of manipulating the Multiverse at will.

"We won!"

"We actually won!"

Sunlight washed across the land.

Countless survivors wept with joy and shouted in celebration.

A completely new life was waiting for them.

"..."

Simon stared at Kamina's body, cleaved in two along with his machine, and fell into silence.

Perhaps as the sun rose that morning, Simon alone was unable to feel any happiness.

"Grow stronger, Simon."

"Grow strong enough to defeat the Anti-Spiral."

Jovian looked at the dazed Simon and spoke silently within his heart.
