She looked a little confused as she went deep into her thoughts.

As she was spiraling into her analysis, she looked up at Adrian, only to see that his eyes were completely closed. He was breathing in a very steady, gentle rhythm.

He had completely passed out.

Aria immediately stopped squeezing his arms. She carefully got up from the bed, making sure not to make a single sound, and quietly walked out of the tent with a massive, triumphant smile on her face.

Once she stepped outside, she saw Serena standing anxiously by the medical tent directly opposite to Adrian’s. The tent flap was tied open, and Aria could easily see Claire lying inside on a cot while a doctor wrapped a bandage around her chest and also her arms.

Both of the women nervously looked over at the little girl.

Aria looked at them and gave them both a massive, enthusiastic thumbs up.

Adrian and his massive army did not waste any unnecessary time.

A decent sized detachment of his soldiers stayed back to formally secure and completely take over the territory that used to belong to Vaneira. They systematically searched all over the fortress and the surrounding camps just to see if they could find anyone important hiding in the ruins, but they came up empty-handed.

When Adrian heard the news, he was slightly disappointed. He couldn’t exactly find the so-called ’Hero’ that the Avarice Kingdom had summoned. Reiji had completely vanished in the chaos of the battle.

But Adrian honestly didn’t really care right now. He had bigger problems to worry about.

He ordered his main army to break camp and immediately begin the long march back to Oresfall. And that was exactly what they did.

Adrian did not wait until he was fully healed to travel. Instead, he just had his men carefully load the runic plate into his carriage. He used the long travel time as a way to continuously heal so that he didn’t waste a single day.

It didn’t take them too long to finally cross the borders and get back to Oresfall.

Once they arrived, Adrian spent an additional two days entirely locked inside his master bedroom, resting directly on the array.

Once those two days were finally over, Adrian’s shattered mana veins had flawlessly fixed themselves back together. He got off the bed, carefully stepped off the advanced array, and stretched his recovered muscles.

He took a long, hot bath to freshen himself up, put on some comfortable modern clothes, and walked out onto his balcony.

The entire city of Oresfall was celebrating.

The citizens had been granted a massive, week long holiday; all entirely under Adrian’s direct orders and paid for by the Barony’s treasury. The streets were filled with nothing but loud, joyous festivities.

There was free, high quality food being handed out on every street corner for an entire week. Absolutely everything was free. Fine alcohol, sweet drinks, and different types of imported fruit juices; which were normally considered a massive luxury for peasants. All of them were pretty abundant now.

Cassius had even authorized the distribution of items that were considered entirely exotic for the common people, such as cold drinks served with actual ice cubes, sweet ice cream, and a lot more. Of course, all of that was provided by Adrian.

Adrian leaned against the balcony railing and watched the massive crowds below.

There were even a few amateur betting arenas that had been organically created by the people themselves in the town squares. It was more like a street-style gladiator arena where the off-duty knights playfully wrestled, and the common people could place bets and cheer for their favorites.

It wasn’t just arenas built for playful street fights.

There was also the sudden, explosive birth of cockfighting in Oresfall. People essentially just bought male chickens from merchants who brought goods from other towns and tossed them into a makeshift wire cage to fight each other. The owner of the bird that remained the victor would receive massive cash prizes from the gathered crowd.

The common people of Oresfall just needed a few days of holidays, uninterrupted rest time, and some basic recreation to organically create their own chaotic forms of betting and entertainment.

And all of this celebration was possible only due to a few specific things.

One, there was an abundance of liquid money in the Barony. None of the citizens actually lacked bronze or silver anymore. Even the ones who worked lower end jobs and earned very little weren’t exactly worried about their future because their income was guaranteed by Adrian’s economic policies.

So everyone pitched in money. They placed bets, they gambled. They spent their hard earned cash on various exotic goods and luxury food items that peasants usually wouldn’t have the luxury to eat, or even the chance to try in their entire lifetimes.

There was also a grand new opening for a massive brothel in the entertainment district, and it had instantly become the biggest hit in the city in a single night. The building itself operated no differently than a high-end inn, but all of the rooms had been fully booked out for six months straight.

Word traveled incredibly fast that the business for brothels was extremely lucrative, and there was a massive promise of making great, steady money in that specific industry.

There were a lot of other rapid, organic developments happening across the city every single day.

Adrian, on the other hand, sat alone in his quiet office and read through endless stacks of logistics reports. This had been the case for almost three days now.

His eyes drooped heavily as he forced himself to read through detailed reports. He suddenly jerked awake, catching his chin before it hit the wood, and banged his hand hard on the desk in sheer frustration.

He felt deeply annoyed and a little exhausted.

He yawned loudly, stood up from his wooden chair, and stretched his stiff muscles before he slowly walked over to the office window and looked outside.
