The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2362: Principles? Whatever Nathalie Says Goes

  • Next Chapter

Mr. Yancey and Candice Yancey still don’t know who exactly Amadeus Yancey is. She estimated the old man might’ve guessed a tiny bit, but Mrs. Yancey... probably still doesn’t know a damn thing.

Nathalie Quinlan put the chair back and heard a low chuckle coming from the other end of the Phone: "Forget it, I’m pretty used to living off a woman anyway."

"After all... ’soft rice’ is good for the stomach!"

Nathalie’s movement of picking up her bag paused, her eyelids twitching.

She didn’t have time to say anything yet.

On the other end of the Phone, Amadeus Yancey asked again, "Right, about Shania Yancey asking you out for a meal..."

"Not going." Nathalie slung the Single shoulder bag over her shoulder, casually signed her own name on the sign-in book at the door.

The blue Pen strokes were wild and flamboyant, unruly and carefree, just like her personality—at a glance you could feel that bold, untamed vibe of hers.

After signing her name, Nathalie put the Pen back, her other hand still holding the Phone talking to Amadeus Yancey as she headed straight Outside.

"I need to go back and look something up."

She walked all the way out, and everyone she ran into from The First Research Institute secretly sneaked glances at her.

Nathalie didn’t care, lowered her eyes slightly, thought for a moment, then added, "Help me tell Grandpa for me, just say I’ve been busy lately."

...

Outside The First Research Institute, an Off-road vehicle was parked by the roadside. The man Opened the Car Window, resting his elbow on the edge. His Eyes were filled with a soft, scattered glow, and his Voice was gentle: "He’s right next to me. Just Wait a bit and you’ll see him when you come out."

Mr. Yancey had originally been in the passenger seat, ears perked up eavesdropping. Suddenly being called out by Amadeus Yancey, his old face flushed red, and he sat up straight looking all serious.

Amadeus Yancey caught his little move out of the corner of his eye, the corners of his lips curling up. He went on talking to the person on the Phone: "He missed you, came all the way to the Villa to look for you. You weren’t there, so he insisted on coming with me to pick you up."

"..." Mr. Yancey’s brows shot up, his Eyes practically spitting fire.

This unfilial grandson!

Who sells out their own grandfather like this?!

People say your Arm tends to bend outward, but this boy hasn’t even managed to trick the girl back home yet and his Arm’s already bent straight up to the sky!

Even though Mr. Yancey was fuming, dying to argue it out with him right then and there, Amadeus Yancey was still on the phone with Nathalie. For Nathalie’s sake, he held back, not daring to act rashly, and could only forcibly endure it.

He endured and endured, held it in for several minutes.

The man finally put down the Phone, finishing the phone call.

"If you dare talk nonsense to Nathalie again, I’ll freeze all your credit cards!" Mr. Yancey had been waiting for him to hang up, and immediately couldn’t Wait to issue a Threat.

"If you freeze my cards, I won’t have money to buy her Gifts." Amadeus Yancey looked like a dead pig unafraid of Boiling Water. He set the Phone down, turned on the Air conditioner in the Car and adjusted it to the temperature Nathalie usually liked, then pulled his hand back: "If you’re not afraid our Granddaughter-in-law runs off with someone else, I got nothing to say."

Mr. Yancey’s old face turned the color of pork liver. He smacked him on the forehead with one palm, his Voice loud and full of breath: "You little brat, cut the act! You, short of money to buy Gifts? You think I’ve gone senile and can’t see through you?"

Suddenly getting slapped, Amadeus Yancey rubbed his brow, saying to him helplessly: "By the way, Nathalie doesn’t want to go to Shania Yancey’s dinner."

He’d thought Mr. Yancey would say something, but Giordano Yancey didn’t even blink, answering with zero principles, "If she doesn’t want to go then she doesn’t go. I was just helping Shania Yancey put the word out, that’s all."

Amadeus Yancey shot him a sidelong glance.

Giordano Yancey couldn’t care less, waving his hand: "If Shania Yancey can’t get any face, that’s her own damn problem. She’s only got herself to blame."
